Replacement Theology - reduced to its simplest form - teaches that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. The term “Replacement Theology” is relatively new and unfamiliar to many people (in some cases, even those who believe in it). Among theologians, the older and more widely used term is “supersessionism.” The Church “supersedes” Israel. Its proponents teach that God has set aside Israel and made the Church “new Israel,” the new and improved people of God. There are many variations within the broad spectrum of Replacement Theology, but two of the main approaches are these:

1. Israel’s role as the people of God was completed (economic supersessionism). This is the kinder and gentler way of stating the basic thesis of Replacement Theology. It says that once the Messiah came 2,000 years ago, Israel’s mission was completed. A transition occurred at that point, and the Church took over as the people of God and became the focal point for the outworking of God’s plan and purpose in redemption. God is no longer working administratively through ethnic Israel.

2. Israel’s place as the people of God was forfeited (punitive supersessionism). Other Replacement theologians are more straightforward and actually say that the supposed replacement of Israel was a divine judgment on the nation for its rejection of the Messiah in the first century. Did the sins of the Jewish nation result in her rejection? Paul’s answer is found in Romans 11: I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! I say then, have they [Israel] stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? (v. 15, NKJV).

If the Jewish nation has no future in God’s plan, as the supersessionists claim, then what is the future “fullness” of Israel that Paul mentions in verse 12? And when, exactly, will the nation be resurrected (“life from the dead”) and “accepted” by God (verse 15)? Paul can’t be talking about the Church in this passage because the Church has never died - and never will (John 11:26). The only reasonable answer is that Paul is referring to a yet-future resurrection and restoration of Am Israel (the “people of Israel,” a collective term for the nation), as prophesied in passages like Ezekiel 37:1-14. It doesn’t mean they will automatically be saved simply because they are Jewish; rather, it means that the majority of Jewish people who are living at that time will recognize Yeshua of Nazareth as their Messiah and receive Him as Savior (Zechariah 12:10, Romans 11:26).

They will be saved in the same way believers from all ages and generations have been saved; that is, they will be saved by grace, through faith (Eph. 2:8-10). The problem with saying that God rejected His people Israel is that the term “rejection” implies permanence and finality. Paul’s forceful statements in Romans 11 probably indicate that people were claiming, even in his day, that God had “cast away” His people Israel (v. 1). They were saying that Israel had “stumbled’ and “fallen” from her former position (vv. 11-12). Paul rejected any such notion (“Certainly not!” in verses 1 and 11). Then he goes on to say that even if we insist on saying that they were rejected, then we are forced to the conclusion that the rejection is only temporary. Even if we insist on saying that they did stumble and fall, then it must also be said that their fall brought salvation to the rest of the world (Gentiles) - and Israel’s fall, too, is only temporary because they are destined to be restored one day to a position of “fullness” (v. 12).

The “fullness of the Gentiles” (Rom. 11:25) refers to the time when the full number of non-Jewish believers has been added to the ranks of the Church and the last person has been saved. Likewise, the “fullness” of the Jewish people (v. 12) refers to the time when “all Israel shall be saved” (v. 26). As we saw earlier, that means the Jewish people en masse will recognize and receive their Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth. There may be some dissenters - and their probably will be - but the Holy Spirit of God will do a powerful work among the Jewish people, and multitudes of them - the vast majority of them - will come to faith in the Messiah of Israel, Jesus of Nazareth.

The truth is that God is no more finished with Israel than He is finished with the Gentiles. Neither one has been replaced by the other; and God’s plan for both remains intact, in spite of their failures. This is really the crux of the issue. Replacement Theology says that Israel was rejected by God and that the rejection was permanent and irrevocable; however, we say that God’s calling on Israel was permanent and irrevocable, in spite of her many sins and shortcomings (Romans 11:29)

Psalm 107:2-3 NIV - "Let the redeemed of the LORD say this -- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

Sign #6: A pure language

With the return of the nation, the ancient Hebrew language has been revived and become the official language of the state. Prior to this happening, the Jews spoke an impure form of the language called Yiddish. The return to a pure common language was again predicted by the prophets.

Zephaniah 3:8-10 KJV - "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, [even] the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering".

Sign #7: The shekel

After nearly 2,000 years the shekel has been reinstated as the common monetary unit in Israel, again, just as predicted.

Ezekiel 45:12-16 NIV - "The shekel is to consist of twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels equal one mina.... All the people of the land will participate in this special gift for the use of the prince in Israel."

Sign #8: Named cities of Israel

There are many cities in Israel that bear the ancient names of previous Jewish cities. Some of these that bear their Biblical identification include: Cana, Nazareth, Jericho, Nain, Bethany, Bethlehem, Hebron, Gaza, etc. Again, as the ancient nation was in the process of being destroyed, Ezekiel the prophet predicted that many of the ancient cities would, in fact, be re-inhabited and settled in the exact locations.

Ezekiel 36:11; 24 KJV - "And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better [unto you] than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.... For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."

Sign #9: Cities excepted - never to be inhabited

Yeshua pronounced a curse on at least three cities within the land. These remain in ruins today.

Matthew 11:21-23 NIV - "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day."

Sign #10: From desolation to productivity

The restoration of the agriculture and of the trees and forests of Israel has been another remarkable miracle. Scarcely 75 years ago, the land was a desolate waste, full of malarial swamps and deserts. Today the replanted forests are flourishing and the Israeli agricultural production is one of the great wonders of the world. This tiny country exports quality produce around the world. Should we say, "Again, just as predicted!"

Isaiah 26:6 NIV - "In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit."

Isaiah 35:1-2 NIV - "The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy...." .................................The answer is really very simple. God gave the land of Israel to Abraham (Genesis 17: and to his descendants through Isaac (Genesis 26:2-5) and Jacob (Genesis 28:1-4,13-14).

That means the land belongs to the descendants of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. In other words, the land belongs to the children of Israel, referred to in the New Testament as the Jews (Romans 1:16).

Some immediately protest this claim by arguing that the Abrahamic Covenant has been abrogated either by the Cross or by the disobedience of the Jews. But the Bible clearly teaches that the Abrahamic Covenant is an everlasting one that is still in effect (Genesis 17:7; 1 Chronicles 16:17-18; Psalm 105:8-11; and Romans 9:4).

As to the effect of the Jew's rejection of Jesus, Paul specifically addresses this question in Romans 3. He asks a rhetorical question: "What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?" For almost two thousand years the Church has answered this question with a resounding, Yes! But Paul answers it differently. He says, "May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar..." (Romans 3:1-4).

Further, Paul states in Romans 11 that the disobedience of the Jews has not nullified the promises of God to them, "for the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29). God's promises are going to be fulfilled to a believing remnant (Romans 9: 27). In fact, in Romans 9:4, Paul specifically states that God's promises to the Jews are still valid.

Two Land Covenants
What most people do not know is that there are two Old Testament covenants pertaining to the land of Israel. The Abrahamic Covenant gives the title of the land to the Jews in perpetuity. A later covenant, the Mosaic Land Covenant — or Canaan Covenant — of Deuteronomy 28-30 defines the conditions for possession and enjoyment of the land.

This latter covenant is often referred to as the "Palestinian Covenant," but that is a misnomer, for the land was never called Palestine until after the second Jewish revolt in 132-135 A.D. At that time the Romans dubbed it "Palestine" to erase the memory of its Jewish heritage and to insult the Jews, for Palestine is the Latin word for Philistine, the ancient enemy of Israel.

Let me illustrate the role and relationship of these two covenants with a modern day example. Let's say you buy a car for a child of yours and put the title in the child's name. But you explain to the child that there are conditions for using the car — such as no speeding. And you warn your child that a speeding ticket will result in the loss of the privilege of driving the car for a period of two weeks. If the child gets a ticket and you lock the car up in the garage for two weeks, the car still belongs to the child because the child's name is on the title. But the child has temporarily lost possession of the vehicle.

In like manner, the Abrahamic Covenant (about 2,000 B.C.) gave the title of the land to the Jews for eternity. The Canaan Covenant (about 1250 B.C.) defined the terms for possession and use of the land. Title and possession are not the same thing. The Jews have lost possession of the land from time to time, but they have never lost their God-given title.

The Canaan Covenant
The Land Covenant promised that Israel would become the prime nation of the world if the Jews were obedient to God (Deuteronomy 28:1,13). But the covenant warned that many curses would befall the people if they were disobedient (Deuteronomy 28:15-37), including exile from the land (Deuteronomy 28:38-57). The covenant warned further that if temporary exile did not restore the Jews to obedience, they would suffer worldwide dispersion and persecution (Deuteronomy 28:58-68). But nowhere are they told that their disobedience would lead to a loss of their title to the land.

In fact, the Land Covenant ends in chapter 30 with a prophecy and a promise that a day will come — after the Jews have experienced the curses of the covenant — when the Lord will restore them to their land once again: "The Lord will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. And the Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it" (Deuteronomy 30:3-5).

For almost 1900 years the Jews wandered among the nations and suffered severe persecution, just as prophesied in Deuteronomy 28. During that time, their land became desolate as prophesied in Deuteronomy 29. But in this century, God has regathered them from the four corners of the earth, re-established them in their land, and transformed their land from wilderness to milk and honey — as prophesied in Deuteronomy 30.

The only prophecy left to be fulfilled in the Land Covenant is the spiritual salvation of the gathered remnant (Deuteronomy 30:6-. That will occur soon when they repent and accept Yeshua as their Messiah.

The Abrahamic and Land Covenants make it clear that the Jewish people have both the right to the land of Israel and the right to be back in it today.

The Arab Covenant
Where does this leave the Arabs? As descendants of Abraham's son, Ishmael, they too have a promise, but it is not a land promise. The covenant God made with Ishmael had to do with the number of his descendants. Ishmael was promised that his descendants would be "multiplied exceedingly" (Genesis 17:20).

God has faithfully kept His promise to the descendants of Ishmael. Today there are 21 Arab states with a combined population of 175 million Arabs. There is only one Jewish state with a population of 5 million. The Arab states contain 5.3 million square miles of oil rich land. Israel has only 8 thousand square miles of land with no major oil reserves that have been discovered. That's a population ratio of 43 to 1 and a land ratio of 662 to 1!

The Palestinian Claim
But what about the Palestinian people? Don't they deserve a state? Keep in mind first of all that a Palestinian state never existed prior to this century. From 70 A.D. to 1948 the geographical area known as Palestine was never an independent state nor did the Arabs residing there have any consciousness of themselves as a separate nation of people. They regarded themselves as Syrians. Also, keep in mind that Jerusalem has never served as the capital of any Arab nation, whereas it has been considered the capital of the Jewish people since 1000 B.C.

Also noteworthy is the fact that when the West Bank and Gaza were under Jordanian autonomy from 1948 to 1967, there was not any effort to create a separate Palestinian state. The PLO was formed during that time, not for the purpose of creating a Palestinian State, but rather for the purpose of exterminating the Jewish state.

Equally important is the fact that a Palestinian state already exists — and it is four times larger than Israel! The Palestinian state is Jordan. In the Balfour Declaration of 1917, the British originally promised all the Palestinian Mandate to the Jews as a national homeland. But in 1922 they broke that promise by using 77% of the Mandate to create the Arab state of Jordan. Today that state's population is 75% Palestinian.

The True Arab Goal
Then why do the Arabs demand the creation of a Palestinian state within the boundaries of current day Israel? The answer is simple. The real Arab goal is not the establishment of another Palestinian state. The true goal is the destruction of Israel.

In fact, Arafat spelled out his current strategy several years ago to the Arab world, and the strategy was adopted officially by the PLO in 1974. It is called "the phased plan." Realizing that he could not defeat Israel with war or terrorism, he decided that the road to victory was deceptive diplomacy. He would talk about peace in return for land, while rallying the anti-Israeli Western powers to put pressure on the Israeli government to capitulate. Once he got a toe-hold in the land, he would then use that as a base for renewed attacks on Israel. In short, he would take Israel in phases. It is a clever strategy that he has spelled out in detail in many public speeches, just as Hitler outlined his strategy in detail in Mein Kampf.

The World's Demand
The world insists that the Jews must trade land for peace. But trading land for peace only whets the appetite of the aggressor. Israel has returned the Sinai to Egypt twice, and the Egyptians are still bristling with hostility toward Israel.

Furthermore, Israel doesn't have any territory to give away. It is one of the world's smallest nations. Turning the West Bank over to hostile Arabs would put the enemy of Israel within 11 miles of Tel Aviv. No government in its right mind would agree to such insanity.

Why then, did the government of Yitzhak Rabin (the Prime Minister) and Shimon Peres (the Foreign Minister) agree to the initiation of the current peace process? The answer is deception. They were deceived by the PLO and the western nations. Worst of all, they deceived themselves.

Their self-deception was rooted in their Humanistic view of the world. Keep in mind that there was not a single believer in God among the top circle of Israeli leaders in the Rabin government. They were all either atheists or agnostics. Politically, they were either socialists or liberal humanists. This means that they believed in the basic goodness of Man. Translated into foreign policy, it means that they believed that if they treated their enemies with fairness and trust, their enemies would reciprocate. They simply could not bring themselves to believe that their enemies are determined to destroy them.

Imbecilic Policy
Ignoring all the harsh lessons of history, Rabin and Peres embarked on a policy of appeasement, hoping that they could satisfy the appetite of their enemies by giving them land for peace. History proves conclusively that appeasement always has the opposite effect — namely, it encourages the aggressor to want more.

Chamberlain found that out when he tried to satisfy Hitler by trading him the Sudetenland for peace. Chamberlain turned out to be a fool. But Rabin and Peres made Chamberlain look good. After all, he at least was not foolish enough to trade some of the territory of Britain for peace! No, he gave away another nation's land. Rabin and Peres sought to trade their own land, land that puts their sworn enemy in the very heart of their nation.

Implacable Enemies
What makes all this particularly ludicrous is the fact that Yasser Arafat does not even attempt to hide his true intentions. He promised that in return for receiving autonomy over Gaza and Jericho he would have the PLO rescind the clauses in its covenant that call for the destruction of Israel. That was five years ago, and he still has not even attempted to get the PLO to amend its charter.

Even worse, Arafat continues to speak openly about his intention to take Jerusalem. The ink was hardly dry on the "peace" accord when he gave a speech in South Africa advocating a jihad to "liberate" Jerusalem. A jihad is a holy war! Again, Rabin and Peres made excuses for him, as did the U.S. State Department. They explained that Arafat was just saying what he had to say to placate his Arab enemies, and that he really didn't mean what he was saying. That's exactly what the Western European leaders kept saying about Hitler — "He doesn't really mean it." Well, he meant it, and so does Arafat.

Insolent Allies
The Israeli leaders have also been deceived by the West. The United States and its Western allies have talked the government of Israel into doing something that every Israeli leader in the past said the nation would never do, and that is to place the survival of the country in the hands of foreigners. The Western nations keep whispering soothing assurances that they will "guarantee" the peace. But when the "peace" evaporates into all out war, Israel will discover that the Western world will back off and leave the nation to fend for itself. The bottom line is that Israel is no Kuwait. Israel has no oil, and Israel is full of Jews whom the world hates.

The current "peace" process is a prescription for war, and it will be the bloodiest war in the history of the Middle East. I believe it will be a war that will lead up to the climax of the current age, ushering in the Tribulation.

The Jews' Resolve
The Jews must stand firm in their determination to maintain the territorial integrity of the land God gave them. In doing so, they will bring the wrath of the nations upon themselves. The prophet Zechariah says that all the nations of the world will come together against Israel in the end times (Zechariah 12:3).

But God will sustain the Jewish people, for they are the "apple of His eye" (Zechariah 2:. The Word of God says Philistia is finished — "melted away" (Isaiah 14:29-32). And the Word says that once the Jews are reestablished in the their land, "they will never be rooted up again" (Amos 9:14-15).

Let all the world come together against God's Chosen. The Lord sits in the heavens and laughs (Psalm 2:4), for He has the wisdom and power to orchestrate all the evil of Man to the fulfillment of His purposes (Psalm 76:10).

Imminent Scenario
What is likely to happen next? Here is the most likely scenario that I can foresee at the moment. Arafat will die (he is in bad health) or will be assassinated, and Hamas, the fundamentalist Arab terrorist organization funded by Iran, will take over control of the Palestinian autonomous areas. Hamas will then unleash a renewed rain of terror on Israel, lobbing rockets from Gaza and Jericho to back up their demand for control of Jerusalem.

If Arafat manages to remain alive, he will go after the same objective, using more subtle means. He will orchestrate world pressure on Israel through the United Nations and the Vatican. On May 4 of next year he will proclaim a Palestinian state and then demand that Jerusalem be "liberated" or internationalized.

Since even the most liberal Israelis take the position that Jerusalem is non negotiable, the pressure will mount toward an inevitable conflict. If Hamas does not unleash the rockets first, then Arafat will ultimately return to the method he knows best — terror.

This will prompt an Israeli counter attack, which, in turn, will motivate the Arab states to come to the defense of the Palestinians. Syria will launch an all out missile attack on Tel Aviv, using the Scuds it has been purchasing from North Korea.

When that ominous event occurs, the Israelis will be forced to use their ultimate weapon to survive. They will strike Damascus with nuclear weapons. This will fulfill the prophecies that state that Damascus will cease to exist in the end times (Isaiah 17:1-3 and Jeremiah 49:23-27).

In panic, the Arab states will then turn to their natural ally for help — the Russians. And the likelihood is that by that time Russia will be firmly in the hands of either a military dictatorship or a despot like Vladimir Zhiranovsky who would be only too happy to send an army into the Middle East to destroy Israel (and grab the Arab oil fields in the process).

That is when the Lord will step in personally to destroy the Russian hordes on the mountains of Israel in a supernatural way so that even the Israelis will realize that their deliverance came from the Lord and not from their own military might (Ezekiel 38 and 39).

As the whole world panics on the brink of World War III, a dynamic, charismatic political leader from Europe will step into the vacuum and propose an ingenious solution that will result in peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors — a peace that will enable the Jews to rebuild their Temple.

We live in exciting times when we can watch prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. The events are ominous and overwhelming, but we can stand firm with great hope because we know that God is on His throne and that He is in control.

The events we are currently witnessing point to the imminent return of Yeshua, and when He returns, the world will be flooded with peace and righteousness, and Israel will enjoy the blessings of territorial integrity and peace forevermore (Zechariah 8:1-.

Ezekiel’s Vision
of the Rebirth of Israel in 1948
Ezekiel’s prophecy of the rebirth of Israel in 1948 and its precise fulfillment in our generation on
May 15, 1948 is one of the greatest fulfillments of Bible prophecy in history. Twenty-five centuries ago,
while he was a slave during the Babylonian Captivity, (606 – 536 BC), the Lord revealed to the prophet
Ezekiel, the precise year – 1948 – when Israel would finally be restored to the Promised Land.. The
Jew’s eternal relationship to the Holy Land is a major theme of Bible prophecy. In the Bible, times were
specified in precise detail regarding the duration of the time when the Jews were to be exiled from the
Promised Land and when God will allow them to return to the Holy Land.
The First Captivity – (Egyptian) – 430 years
The Lord prophesied to Abraham precisely when the Jews would return from Egypt from their
First Captivity that lasted 430 years of captivity in Egypt (Genesis 15:13; Exodus 12:40-41).
The Second Captivity (Babylonian) – 70 years
Similarly, the Second Captivity of 70 years in Babylon, as prophesied in Jeremiah 25:11,
ended precisely in 536 BC when the Jews returned to Jerusalem as decreed by the Persian king Cyrus
the Great.
The Third Captivity (Worldwide) – 2520 years
The Scriptures contain numerous prophecies about the final return of the Jewish exiles to their
Promised Land in the "last days." Ezekiel was taken to Babylon as a captive. Ezekiel was aware of
Jeremiah’s prophecy (Jeremiah 25:11) that the Jew’s captivity in Babylon would last seventy years.
However, Ezekiel received another prophecy concerning God’s judgment upon the Jew’s disobedience and
the precise duration of the remaining Jewish exile from their Promised Land.
"This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of
the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear
their iniquity. For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days,
three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when thou hast
accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty
days: I have appointed thee each day for a year" (Ezekiel 4:3-6).
As Ezekiel lay on his right side for a few hours for 390 days and then for 40 days on his right side
the Jews in Babylon learned of God’s remarkable prophecy. God revealed that every day stood for one
biblical year. Therefore, Israel would be punished for a period of 390 years plus an additional 40 years as
a result of their disobedience to God’s commands, totaling 430 years. God declared that Israel would be
punished by a worldwide exile for 430 years (390
+ 40 years = 430 years). However, as prophesied by Jeremiah, the seventy year long Babylonian
Captivity, which began with Nebuchadnezzar’s capture of Jerusalem in 606 B.C., ended in the spring of
536 B.C., in the month Nisan (March/April), when only a small remnant of the Jews (42,360) returned to
Jerusalem (Ezra 1:1-3) under the decree of Cyrus the Great.
However, the vast majority of the Jewish exiles chose to remain in the pagan Persian Empire as
colonists and tradesmen. Naturally, most Jews who were born and had grown up in Babylon had little
desire to leave their farms and businesses to return to a desolate Jewish homeland. Most Jews in Babylon
did not repent of their rebellion against God and chose to remain in the pagan Babylonian Empire.
Out of God’s total decreed future punishment of 430 years for Israel's and Judah's sins (390 years
plus 40 years = 430 years). First, we must deduct the 70 years of the Babylonian captivity, which Ezekiel
and the Jewish exiles were already enduring, which ended in the spring of 536 B.C. Therefore: (430 years
minus the 70 years in Babylon = 360 years). This indicates that a further period of 360 years of additional
exile remained for the Jews following the end of the Babylonian Captivity in 536 B.C.
Ezekiel’s Prophecy of the End of Israel’s Exile
However, a careful study of the history of Israel cannot reveal any significant event that
corresponds to this period of 360 years of additional punishment, either at the end of the 430 years or at
the end of the 360 years beginning from the end of the Babylonian Captivity in 536 BC. The majority (95%)
of the Jews never returned from Babylon to Israel. In fact, even the minority of the 42,360 Jews (Ezra
2:64) who did return did so with very little faith or true repentance. Most of the Jewish exiles failed to
repent of their spiritual rebellion against God and they chose to remain in pagan Babylon.
Ezekiel’s unusual prophecy revealed the precise duration of the Jewish exiles worldwide Diaspora
and the actual time of their prophesied return to the Promised Land in May 15, 1948. The solution to this
prophetic mystery was found in a divine principle revealed to Moses and recorded in Leviticus 26. In this
chapter the Lord established definite promises and punishments for Israel based on Israel’s subsequent
obedience or disobedience to His Divine commands. In four separate but repeated passages recorded in
Leviticus 26, God warned Israel that: if, after being punished for her sins, she still failed to repent of her
rebellion, the punishments previously declared by God would be multiplied seven times more (the number of
divine completion).
Moses declared God’s Divine principle of judgment if the Jews would not repent from their sinful
rebellion against God after already experiencing His Divine punishment: "And if ye will not yet for all this
hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins" (Leviticus 26:18; 26:21, 23-24, 27-
28).
In other words, if Israel did not repent of her sins after enduring God’s initial prophesied
punishment; the punishments previously predicted would now be prolonged or multiplied seven times: The
biblical record reveals that, tragically, even the 5 percent of the Jewish exiles who returned to Israel did not
truly repent of their rebellion.
Therefore, according to the Divine principle of multiplying the previous Divinely declared
punishment by seven times due to the Jew’s lack of repentance, God’s previously prophesied exile of
360 additional years to the unrepentant Jewish exiles, as recorded by Ezekiel, would now be multiplied
seven times more (Ezekiel 4:4-6; Lev. 26:18).
360 years of Exile x 7 = 2,520 biblical years of additional Exile for the Jews
The Biblical-Prophetic Year of 360 Days
The length of a biblical – prophetic year is 360 days: not the 365.25 days of our modern Sod...!!!
calendar solar year. In ancient biblical times, the Jewish year was a lunar-solar year, with 12 months of 30
days each, which contained only 360 days. The modern solar-calendar year contains 365.25 days. An article
on Chronology in the Encyclopedia Britannica, states that Abraham continued to use the 360-day year of his
Babylonian homeland when he migrated to Canaan.
The Genesis account of Noah's flood confirmed that the ancient peoples of the Middle East,
including the Hebrews, used a lunar-solar year of only 360 days with 12 months of 30 days each. Genesis
recorded that the five months from the beginning of the Flood on the 17th day of the second month till the
day the Ark rested on dry land, on the 17th day of the seventh month, lasted precisely 150 days. The five
months (30 days each) while the flood waters prevailed confirmed that the Bible used a 12 month year of
360 days. (Genesis 7:11; 8:3-4).
Sir Isaac Newton confirmed that the ancient biblical year of the Hebrews, Babylonians, and
Egyptians had only 360 days. Newton wrote in the Encyclopaedia Britannica (6th ed) that “all nations,
before the just length of the solar year was known, … in making calendars for their festivals, they
reckoned thirty days to a lunar month, and twelve lunar months to a year, taking the nearest round
numbers, whence came the division of the ecliptic into 360 degrees.”
To understand the precise fulfillment of prophecy, we need to calculate using the biblical lunar year
of 360 days. For example, in the book of Revelation John described the last three-and-one-half years of the
seven year Tribulation period when the Antichrist will persecute the “woman” (Israel) as lasting precisely
1,260 days (Rev. 12:6). John also described this period as: “a time and times and half a time” (Rev. 12:14).
A “time” equals a year of 360 days; “times” equals two years; and “half a time” equals half a year Similarly,
“forty-two months” of 30 days each equals the same 1260 days (Rev. 13:5). The book of Revelation and
Daniel’s prophecies (Dan. 7:25; 9:24-27; 12:7; 12:11) both confirm that the biblical year contained 360 days.
Therefore, Ezekiel’s prophecy revealed that the Jew’s final restoration to their Promised Land
would occur precisely 2,520 biblical years (of 360 days each) after the end of the Babylonian Captivity in the
spring of 536 B.C.
The end of the captivity in Babylon, according to the Bible and other historical sources – including
Flavius Josephus, occurred in the month of Nisan in the spring of 536 B.C. This date is the starting point for
our calculations: 2,520 biblical years x 360 = 907,200 days. Converting this period of 907,200 days into our
calendar year of 365.25 days: we divide the 907,200 days by 365.25 days and we calculate a total of
2,483.8 calendar or solar years. In these prophetic calculations we must keep in mind that there was only
one year between Passover in 1 B.C. and the next Passover in A.D. l.

Located on the edge of a desert belt, Israel has always suffered a scarcity of water. Archeological discoveries in the Negev and other parts of the country reveal that local inhabitants thousands of years ago were already concerned with water conservation, as evidenced by a variety of systems, designed to both collect and store rainwater and transfer it from one place to another.



The total annual renewable water resources amount to some 60 billion cubic feet (1.7 billion cu.m.), of which about 75 percent is used for irrigation and the balance for urban and industrial purposes. The country's water sources consist of the Jordan River, Lake Kinneret and a few small river systems. Natural springs and underground water tables, tapped in controlled quantities to prevent depletion and salination, are also utilized. As maximum use has been made of all freshwater sources, ways are being developed to exploit marginal water resources through the recycling of waste water, cloud-seeding and desalination of brackish water.

The National Water Carrier
To overcome regional imbalances in water availability, most of Israel's freshwater sources are joined in an integrated grid. Its central artery, the National Water Carrier, completed in 1964, brings water from the north and central regions, through a network of giant pipes, aqueducts, open canals, reservoirs, tunnels, dams and pumping stations, to the semi-arid south.
