It was a pleasure to have been a mod on the forum for all of you for over a year, and I worked very hard to make it a fair place with positive energy where people had freedom to speak. I wasn’t perfect, but I truly tried to do a good job for all of you while I was there.

It is my and a few of the former mod’s hopes that David and DI Books will take notice of what is going on and step in and do something to salvage the forum.

Limelady, Logic_Bomb, Pinkfrued, Shodan, Gilly, Strt, and myself (Darketernal) all stood up to Sean on this matter with others perhaps soon to follow. I thought all of you should know who stood their ground for your right to privacy, and that the members of the forum should know the truth.

Duffy's final target was Jordan Cooper, 14, from Washington, Newcastle upon Tyne, who was stabbed to death.

said he lived an isolated life and had himself been bullied at school

Speaking outside court, Natasha MacBryde's father, Andrew, said: "He is a

"He caused devastation to us and other families; for so many people. It hurts but he sits behind a computer with no feeling."

Drew called for the operators of social networking sites to take more

children live on Facebook, it's their lives and they're just so
vulnerable."

After the hearing police said they would continue to track down offenders like Duffy.

Det Ch Insp James Hahn, of Thames Valley police, said: "Clearly this has
been a very emotive case, that has caused additional distress and
suffering for families who have been trying to cope with the loss of

Attending a talk, being a subscriber, buying a book all helps to keep

AS many as 16,000 Australians got away with voting more than once in the 2010 razor's edge federal poll.

Dozens may have voted three times or more, but only three copped a slap on the wrist.

The Australian Electoral Commission has admitted to a Senate committee its
own records make it difficult to tell who is flouting electoral laws.

And it has been revealed little can be done if voters deny it.

Of the 16,189 people the AEC suspected of multiple votes, 5211 denied it
and 80 per cent of the 1458 who confessed were new voters or did not
understand how to vote.

It was decided 7925 were errors, many caused when
voters with similar names were recorded under the same name by accident.

Electoral Commissioner Ed Killesteyn told the committee the offence was
hard to prove as there was no real evidence if a person denied the offence.

Victorian Liberal senator Scott Ryan said the lack of prosecution
sent a confusing message to the country.

There have been calls for the introduction of photo ID,
with some seats won or lost on just a few votes.

Japan eases self-imposed arms export ban

TOKYO has eased a decades-old self-imposed ban on arms exports,
paving the way for Japanese firms to participate in multinational
weapons projects.

In a move intended to bolster the domestic arms industry and
reduce national defence spending, officially pacifist Japan will for
the first time in decades routinely allow its companies to partner with
foreign firms to develop weapons.

"Under the new standards, Japan will be able to transport military equipment
for missions of peace-building and international co-operation," Foreign Minister
Koichiro Gemba told reporters today.

"This will mean that Japan can now address
international peace co-operation
and global challenges such as terrorism and piracy
more proactively and effectively."
Japan, whose industries took many years to recover from the devastation of
World War II, declared in 1967 that it would very tightly control its
foreign weapons sales.

At the height of the Cold War, then prime minister Eisaku Sato said
Tokyo would not sell armaments to communist states, countries directly
engaged in international conflicts, or nations under UN arms embargoes.

The restrictions were further tightened in 1976 when Japan said all exports
would be subject to stringent rules that effectively barred all weapon sales.

A limited number of exceptions were subsequently made for technological
co-operation projects such as missile defence with the United States, Japan's
cornerstone security ally.

The new rules will allow Japan to develop and produce arms jointly with the US
and European countries and to export military equipment for peaceful and
humanitarian purposes such as UN peace-keeping operations.

Tokyo will also be allowed to provide defensive equipment, such as helmets and
bullet-proof vests, to the limited number of countries in which its Self-Defence Forces
are deployed.

Critics of the ban say it was a Cold War relic that has resulted in Japan's military
hardware capability becoming outdated,while increasingly assertive regional rival
China continues to spend heavily on defence technology.

But supporters say any move to expand Tokyo's military reach, however limited,
is likely to rankle in Beijing and Seoul, where Japan's wartime aggression remains
a sensitive subject.
