The court of Parnassusweg in South Amsterdam this morning heavily damaged by an attack with a projectile. In one of the towers of the courthouse, Tower E, is a hole and beaten many windows broken. Elsewhere on the property damage: about seven floors, windows broken. © AP

A DUTCH courthouse has sustained damage in a suspected mortar attack.

According to a witness, two people were seen fleeing from the scene after an explosion at around 3am local time, the AD newspaper reported.
The explosion smashed windows on several floors. There were no reports of injuries.

The Amsterdam court was the venue for the trial of far-right lawmaker Geert
Wilders, who was acquitted in June of charges including inciting hatred
against Muslims, the report said.
