The true price for 12 day holiday in Peru

i just returned from Peru 3 weeks ago.

In 2010 i went to Peru and Bolivia spending 6 months there and visited all the sites on Ickes itinerary on numerous occasion plus many other sites.

6 months didnt even cost the $7000 hes quoting for a 12 day trip.

i could do that trip on £250 excluding machu pichu. including machu pichu £400 -£420

all of these are 12 day tour packages roughly the same itinerary as Ickes

looks to me he's getting more out of it than a free holiday and i guess the $4-5k extra that people are paying is to be close to the super tennant's swilling guru

Some people are just waiting to be ripped off in the name of 'enlightenment'. What happens when they get there? Icke will show them the hill that spoke to him when he was high, they will drink some potion and then just see what happens.

Personally I think these cash grabs will become more common as he grows bolder, knowing that his followers will stump up all sorts of cash as long as he keeps a hook in them.

to be fair that trip is only for a bus ride from cusco to ollantay stopping at pisac on the way before a 4 day hike from ollantaytambo to machu pichu.

i could do Ickes full itinerary including for £385 though, i'll dig out my journals later and have a look through.

the main expense is machu pichu which is costing around $200 (entry ticket + bus and train) although you could sneak into machu pichu but to travel from ollantaytambo to agua calientes is £7-10 thats if you are really adventurous ! this involves walking over train bridges and going over a steep valley on a crazy pulley bridge.
