INTERNET giant Facebook is accessing
smartphone users' personal text messages,
an investigation revealed today.

Facebook admitted reading text messages belonging to smartphone users
who downloaded the social-networking app and said that it was accessing the data
as part of a trial to launch its own messaging service,
The (London) Sunday Times
reported.

Other
well-known companies accessing smartphone users' personal data -
such as text messages

include photo-sharing site Flickr, dating site Badoo and
Yahoo Messenger, the paper said.

It claimed that some apps
even allow companies to
intercept phone calls
-
while others, such as YouTube,
are capable of remotely accessing and
operating users' smartphone cameras
to take photographs or videos
at any time.

Security app My Remote Lock and the app Tennis Juggling Game were among
smaller companies' apps that may intercept users' calls, the paper said.

Emma Draper, of the Privacy International campaign group, said,

go to great lengths to get their hands on as much of it as possible."

More than 400,000 apps can be downloaded to Android phones,
and more than 500,000 are available for iPhones - with all apps downloaded
from Apple's App Store covered by the same terms and conditions policy.

According to a YouGov poll for the newspaper, 70 per cent of smartphone users
rarely or never read the terms and conditions policy when they download an app.

Julia Gillard will be glad when Monday’s ballot is over and she can get
on with dealing with some of the real issues facing her government:

POLICE have discovered further unusual credit cards associated with
the Health Services Union’s president, Michael Williamson
,
as they continue to investigate allegations he and
the former general secretary Craig Thomson received secret commissions
via credit cards supplied to them by a major contractor to the union.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, early yesterday morning detectives
from Strike Force Carnarvon raided the Palm Beach house of John
Gilleland, 65, and his wife, Carron, 51.

Mr and Mrs Gilleland’s company, Communigraphix, which they run from
home, received $680,000 a year for producing 10 issues of the union’s
newsletter, the Health Standard, which they now print only six times a
year.

Mr Gilleland is alleged to have provided Mr Williamson and Mr Thomson,
now a federal MP, with American Express cards.
The credit cards were
issued in the names of Mr Thomson and Mr Williamson but were attached to
Mr Gilleland’s account and the bills incurred on those cards were
allegedly paid for by Mr Gilleland....

Mr Williamson, who is on paid leave from the union, and Mr Thomson, who
became the federal member for Dobell in 2007, have denied any wrongdoing.

POLICE have discovered further unusual credit cards
associated with the Health Services Union's
president, Michael Williamson
, as they continue to
investigate allegations he and the
former general secretary Craig Thomson
received secret commissions via credit cards
supplied to them by a major contractor to the union.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, early yesterday
morning detectives from Strike Force Carnarvon raided the Palm Beach
house of John Gilleland, 65, and his wife, Carron, 51.

Mr and Mrs Gilleland's company, Communigraphix, which
they run from home, received $680,000 a year for producing 10 issues of
the union's newsletter
, the Health Standard, which they now print only six times a year.

Mr Gilleland is alleged to have provided Mr Williamson
and Mr Thomson, now a federal MP, with American Express cards. The
credit cards were issued in the names of Mr Thomson and Mr Williamson
but were attached to Mr Gilleland's account and the bills incurred on
those cards were allegedly paid for by Mr Gilleland.

It is understood police are investigating allegations Mr
Gilleland falsely stated on his Amex application for the extra cards
that the two men were his brothers-in-law.

The Herald has previously reported Mrs Gilleland
allegedly complained to senior union officials that Mr Williamson had
''run amok'' with the credit card.
''He even paid his private school
fees on it; this was not part of the deal,'' Mrs Gilleland allegedly
said. Mrs Gilleland yesterday denied saying these things happened or
that she ever said it.

Offering or receiving a benefit as an inducement to act
in a certain way in business dealings may constitute a criminal offence
that can attract penalties of up to seven years imprisonment.

Police arrived at the two-storey Barrenjoey Road house
shortly before 7am, and stayed for more than eight hours. They left
carrying eight boxes of documents and two computers.

Mr Williamson, who is on paid leave from the union, and
Mr Thomson, who became the federal member for Dobell in 2007, have
denied any wrongdoing.

Yesterday's police raid was not Mr Gilleland's first brush with the law.
In 1984 he and his brother, Ian, were arrested by federal police
over their alleged role in using their printing company
to produce counterfeit German currency.
While John Gilleland was acquitted by a jury in 1986,
at a subsequent trial Ian was sentenced to five years' jail.

Mr Thomson is the subject of two other investigations
being conducted by the Victorian Police and Fair Work Australia into
allegations he used his union-issued credit card to withdraw $100,000
in cash advances and to pay for prostitutes. This is a separate card to
the one that was the subject of yesterday's police raid.

Roxon verbals Rudd after being caught asleep

Andrew Bolt – Saturday, February 25, 12 (10:09 am)

Professor Sinclair Davidson finds Attorney General Nicola Roxon rewriting history to smear Kevin Rudd:

This is what Nicola Roxon was saying about the Rudd era.

R
oxon says on Valentine’s Day 2010, the then prime minister
decided he wanted to take over the entire health system. He gave four
days’ notice and had no legal advice or even a cabinet submission.

“On another occasion he suggested to us actually having a referendum
about taking over the health system, having it at the same time as the
2010 election, knowing full well and agreeing that that referendum would
be lost but thought it would be a good tool to be able to win the
election,” Roxon told Sky News.

But hang on, says Davidson. Rudd had made this referendum a promise in
his 2007 campaign. How dopey was
Roxon, Rudd’s health minister, not to
have prepared for it three years later?

UPDATE

We could do this all day:
WAYNE Swan on ABC radio’s AM on Thursday:

THERE’S no doubt he sought to tear down the 2010 campaign . . . I
don’t think many people doubt the fact that Mr Rudd, behind the scenes
in the 2010 campaign, was quite disloyal to the Labor cause, to the
Labor movement, to that movement which put him into parliament and
expects better from him.

Swan on ABC1’s The 7.30 Report, July 28, 2010:

KERRY O’Brien:
Few people know Kevin Rudd better than you in politics.
Is he, do you believe, an honourable person in this affair?

Swan:
I do believe he is an honourable person.
I do believe he is doing everything he possibly can
to see the return of the government,
including campaigning in his electorate.

Why did Labor ever choose Rudd to lead us?
Andrew Bolt – Saturday, February 25, 12 (09:48 am)

James Button was a Rudd Government speechwriter and is right to warm of
Kevin Rudd’s astonishingly dysfunctional style of management - or even
personal relations:

<blockquote>The truth is, Rudd was impossible to work with. He
regularly treated his staff, public servants and backbenchers with
rudeness and contempt. He was vindictive, intervening to deny people
appointments or preselections, often based on grudges that went back
years.

He made crushing demands on his staff, and when they laboured through
the night to meet those demands, they received no thanks, and often the
work was not used. People who dared stand up to him were put in “the
freezer” and not consulted or spoken to for months. The prodigious
loyalty of his staff to him was mostly not repaid. He put them down
behind their backs. He seemed to feel that everyone was always letting
him down. In meetings, as I saw, he could emanate a kind of icy rage
that was as mysterious as it was disturbing.

He governed by - seemed almost to thrive on - crisis. Important papers
went unsigned, staff and public servants would be pulled onto flights,
in at least one case halfway around the world, on the off chance that he
needed to consult them. Vital decisions were held up while he struggled
to make up his mind, frequently demanding more pieces of information
that merely delayed the final result. The fate of the government seemed
to hinge on the psychology of one man.

</blockquote>I can quite understand why Labor MPs - in their own interests as well as
those of the nation - are desperate to keep this man out of the Prime
Minister’s office.

The question is: why on earth did they let him in in the first place.

They are reaping the hurricane they have sown.

PS:

I am not now being wise after the event. What Labor insiders now write
about Rudd was there to be seen even before he became Prime Minister.
What so many in the Left now agree about Rudd was once - when written by
a conservative - what they denounced as the ravings of a Murdoch
attack dog: Here’s how I’ve written about Rudd from the start:

9 March 2007:
<blockquote>There’s something about him of the anxious nerd who feels the one big
thing he has over you is his exam mark. Of the obsessive who feels
endorsed by a score of 100, but devastated with 99.

In short, Rudd can seem too keen to be perfect. Too afraid to fail. Too unreal. And too brittle…

In private arguments with him, I’ve felt this brittleness. For instance,
I’ve never known him concede even the most trivial point (he’d say the
same of me, of course).

</blockquote>18 April 2007:
<blockquote> Rudd’s Sunlies stumbles are part of a pattern… Rudd tried exactly
this same bullying only last month with the Fairfax-owned Sun-Herald.

The paper had told Rudd’s staff it was about to report claims that cast
doubt on Rudd’s often-told story that his family had been brutally
evicted from their rented farmhouse, almost overnight, when his
sharefarmer father died in a car smash…

According to a Sun-Herald reporter Rudd’s office went nuclear. She said
an adviser rang her ``ranting like a lunatic’’ and warning that if she
published ``we’ll have 100 people ready to roll tomorrow morning to
trash you and your paper’’. Rudd himself then rang the paper’s editor
five times…

Rudd has shown he in fact may still lack that strength. He is so
desperate to seem perfect, he seems to panic at his imperfections.

He has now little time to remake himself before the public starts to
notice, too, and to wonder if this highly intelligent, ferociously
hard-working man does have the glass jaw that will make him
unpredictable in high office.

22 August 2007:
And how we should again wonder if Rudd is all spin and no traction…

But at some stage it won’t all fit—like that drunk Christian with the
strippers. Like the Mr ``Levelling Completely’’ who can’t be sure he saw
the lap-dancers who made him say sorry to his wife. Who agreed to play
along with Channel Seven’s fake dawn service. Who embroidered a tragedy
of his boyhood.

You will then wonder: just who is this man, so very eager now to please,
and what will he really be like if we make him Prime Minister? Will he
still remember us in the morning?

</blockquote>14 November 2007:
<blockquote>KEVIN Rudd as prime minister will be a control freak, and not just
because that’s the way he obsessively ticks. He’ll be a control freak
because he has little choice: he’s a friendless leader promising what
some in his Labor team don’t want to deliver…

Or put it this way: the story of the Rudd government is likely to be of a
jittery Labor leader with more formal power than any before him, trying
to control people with a clearer sense of direction than he has
himself.

</blockquote>4 June 2008:

Yet the private Kevin Rudd is rather different—actually deeply uncertain

<blockquote> and short of big ideas… Being so manic, and so unsure of himself, he’s
of course also famously impatient and short-tempered…

Let him bust his gut, if it’s in the service of good government. But
it’s another thing to insist everyone around him works so frantically,
too, and to so little real purpose…

... a part of this, I’m sure, is Rudd asserting his power, as much to
himself as to others. And that cannot make for efficient government. The
same is true of Rudd’s other habit of compensation—exulting in his
authority.. He is still paranoid about control, micro-managing details
best left to a deputy flunky.

</blockquote>15 August 2008:
<blockquote>YOU love the man, it seems. Newspoll this week confirmed it, giving
Kevin Rudd a solid approval rating of 58 per cent… So I look at this
typical week in Rudd’s utterly vacuous rule as Prime Minister and am
stunned.

I mean, how in God’s name does this pretender—this Great Watcher—get away with it? What am I missing?..

So, desperate to seem fair, I look for something, anything, of substance Rudd has done, and not simply discussed. Or watched.

But what do I see? Not just FuelWatch, WhaleWatch, StarWatch,
WorldWatch, AsiaWatch, NukeWatch and StateWatch, but even more of the
just-watching sorry sort.

</blockquote>9 June 2010:

I repeat, this near-perfect record of bungling cannot be a coincidence.
<blockquote>And, indeed, the common thread to it is Rudd’s fear - his fear of
delegating, his fear of taking advice from smarter people, his fear of
conceding flaws, his fear of letting his ministers have free rein, his
fear of acknowledging any agendas other than his own, his fear of hiring
advisers of adult age, his fear of not seeming across every irrelevant
detail, his fear of not seeming great.

It’s Rudd’s deep insecurity that has killed his leadership, and which
explains his often childish need to assert himself, whether by putting
his boots on your coffee table, explaining he’s “your Prime Minister” or
hogging the microphone at his endless “community Cabinet meetings”, at
which busy ministers serve as props to his vanity.

This insecurity explains, too, his outbursts of anger.. Anger is just
what you get when such an insecure man is threatened, thwarted or
belittled.

</blockquote>Labor must have known, yet still made him leader. Journalists must have
known, yet most closed their eyes. The Left should have known, yet
screamed abused at those who saw.

UPDATE

Chris Kenny:
From the dying days of the Rudd government to the months leading up to
the current conflagration, much of the Canberra press gallery either did
not understand what was going on, or did not deign to tell us…

<blockquote>Now Gillard, Rudd, Swan, Nicola Roxon, Simon Crean
and many others are telling us
exactly what has transpired since 2010 -
and we discover that
these diligent journalists (from News Ltd)
were exposing the truth.

Yet none other than
the nation’s Communications Minister
had dubbed them and their colleagues the “hate media”
and accused them of campaigning for “regime change”.

He even established a media inquiry
to consider more legislative control.

Just three weeks ago on the ABC, Swan said: “The great bulk of the
coverage that I read is just completely divorced from reality ... but
that’s the media environment we live in at the moment.”

Since then, many in the media have been vindicated and Swan has
completely changed his version of reality. Some media were pinpointing
the truth, and the politicians were hiding it.

</blockquote>UPDATE
Peter van Onselen:
<blockquote>EACH and every cabinet minister from Labor’s first term who now
(finally) condemns Kevin Rudd for having been an inept prime minister
should be ashamed of themselves. It is nothing short of pathetic. What
were they doing about it at the time? Where was their courage then -
collectively or as individuals? Why did they allow him to stay on in cabinet after the last election if he was so utterly repugnant?...

At the PM’s press conference on Thursday, Gillard wore it as a badge of
honour that in the 3 1/2 years that she served as Rudd’s deputy (in both
government and opposition) she never once undermined him to a
journalist.

So Gillard was loyal to Rudd for 3 1/2 years - despite knowing that he
was hopeless as a leader and a prime minister. After removing him she
decided to make the dysfunctional ex-leader Australia’s foreign
minister. What about loyalty to the public and the Labor movement by
doing something about Rudd’s ways rather than silently serving someone
you have such strong reservations about?

</blockquote> The Heiner Affair – 20 odd years of
Labor and Government cover-up

Piers Akerman has just written an article
reviewing the 22 year old Heiner Affair
which originated when documents
relating to child abuse
were shredded by
the Goss Queensland Labor Govt in 1990.

The documents related to an
inquiry into the former
John Oxley Youth Detention Centre headed by
former magistrate Noel Heiner in 1989.

One of the victims who was pack raped
while in Qld Govt care was recently paid $120,000
and is said to be travelling to Canberra
to make her case known.

As Piers Akerman explains – a 2,800 page audit document pulling together
the whole saga and composed by Sydney QC David Rofe was emailed to all
Senators on Australia day last month. Some leading figures in powerful
positions now are involved.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs in 2004 posted documents on the subject – look for Volume 2. That committee no longer exists.
Anybody concerned could write to their Senators and ask what they intend doing.

Senators receive Heiner allegations

Meticulously prepared allegations of
the most serious misconduct by some of
the nation’s most senior public officers,
including
the Governor General Quentin Bryce,
the Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd,
and a raft of Queensland jurists
have been received
by every member of the Senate.

The allegations were contained in the Rofe Audit of the long-running
Heiner Affair
and e-mailed to every Senator on Australia Day.

The affair began with the rape of a 14-year-old Aboriginal girl
who was in the custody of the Queensland government.

Though guilt was admitted, no charges were ever laid and evidence
prepared for an inquiry into the juvenile justice system by former
magistrate Noel Heiner was subsequently ordered to be destroyed by
Queensland’s Goss government Cabinet.

For the past 22 years, the victim (who was paid about $120,000 in hush
money by the Queensland government last year) has sought to have her day
in court.

She is expected to travel to Canberra to make her case personally after Parliament resumes tomorrow.

Last year the Senate Privileges Committee voted to bury the matter but members and staff had read the submissions.

The Clerk of the Senate, Dr Rosemary Laing, in Advice 47, wrote last
June that “there is no doubt the matter raised is very serious”.

Though the Clerk’s advice was made public, the submission on which her advice based was kept confidential - until now.

An attempt to have the matter debated in the Senate was stopped by the
Labor Party and the Greens, with former Family First Senator Steven
Fielding voting to stop the matter being raised.

The allegations raised about the Governor General Quentin Bryce’s
conduct are far more serious and pertinent than those which led to
former Governor General Peter Hollingworth’s resignation in 2003.

The Rev Dr Hollingworth was driven out of office after a vindictive
campaign by senior members of the Labor Party who claimed he was not a
fit and proper person to hold the post of Governor General.

In the extensive 2,800-page document, titled the Heiner Affair Papers,
it is alleged (among other things) that
Ms Bryce did not apply the law equally in the matter of
destruction of evidence when she was governor of Queensland in 2005.

The extensive secret submission was written by senior Sydney QC David Rofe.

A number of senators have confirmed receiving the massive document.

The general distribution of the material places the Senate and the
government in a very difficult position.
It is impossible for MPs to “unknow” what they have read.

Senior parliamentary officers say it is open for Ms Bryce to request a
copy of the papers, indeed, arguably, she is duty bound to do so
urgently given the serious nature of the charges and the fact that every
senator is now in receipt of allegations which question her integrity
and fitness to hold office.

It would also appear that the Senate will have to “send” a message to
the House of Representatives about the material as it also contains
adverse allegations about a member of the Lower House, Rudd.

Parliamentary sources say that they are reviewing the Hollingworth
resignation and the handling of allegations made against the former
(now deceased) High Court Justice Lionel Murphy to prepare advice for
the Gillard Labor-minority government.

This move dramatically increases the pressure on the government and the
Opposition. Members of the public know more about the Heiner Affair than
MPs wish,
now there is no reason for Senators to plead ignorance.

The allegations are extremely serious and must be tested
or the taint will cripple the machinery of government.

Thomson union printer raided over credit card

Police this morning raided the house of the man accused
of providing secret commissions to the Health Services Union's former
general secretary Craig Thomson and the union's head Michael Williamson.

Detectives from Strike Force Carnarvon executed a search
warrant at the Palm Beach house of printer John Gilleland, 65, and his
wife, Carron, shortly before 7am today.

Several hours later, police from the computer crime squad arrived to assist in the search of the Gillelands' house.

And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 Article-thomson-420x0

A Herald investigation last year revealed that
Mr Williamson and Mr Thomson were provided with American Express cards
by Mr Gilleland, who runs a graphic design and printing business.

The credit cards were issued in the names of Mr Thomson
and Mr Williamson, but were attached to Mr Gilleland's account and the
bills incurred on those cards were allegedly paid for by Mr Gilleland.

The Herald has previously reported that Mrs
Gilleland allegedly complained to senior union officials that Mr
Williamson had "run amok" with the credit card.

. Photo: Ben Rushton

He even paid his private school fees on it; this was not
part of the deal,
" Mrs Gilleland allegedly said.
Mrs Gilleland today
denied that this occurred or that the converstation ever took place.

Mr Gilleland's company, Communigraphix, which he runs
from his two-storey house in Barrenjoey Road, receives $680,000 a year
to produce 10 issues of the union's newsletter,
the Health Standard.

Either offering or receiving a benefit as an inducement
to act in a certain way in business dealings may constitute a criminal
offence, which can attract penalties of up to seven years' imprisonment.

Mr Williamson, who is on paid leave from the union, and
Mr Thomson, who became the federal member for Dobell in 2007, have
denied any wrongdoing.

This morning's police raid is not the printer's first brush with the law.

In 1984, he and his brother, Ian, were arrested by federal police
over their alleged role in using their printing company to produce
counterfeit German currency.

The quality of the notes was so good that they were given a seven out of 10 rating by the Reserve Bank.

While John Gilleland was acquitted by a jury in 1986, at a
subsequent trial, Ian was found guilty and sentenced to five years'
jail.

Mr Thomson is subject of two other investigations being
conducted by the Victorian Police and Fair Work Australia
into
allegations that he used his union-issued credit card to withdraw
$100,000 in cash advances and to pay for prostitutes. This is a separate
card to the one that was the subject of today's police raid.

It seems to me neither Gillard nor Rudd are going to be able to form any

Yesterday Kevin Rudd’s administration was described as “chaotic and
dysfunctional” and hence he was deposed. So someone who was at the time
known to run a “chaotic and dysfunctional” administration is then given
the job as foreign minister
representing Australian interests abroad.

I fail to see how that was in the “National Interest”.

Party interest maybe, but certainly not National interest.

Rudd mental adviser warns Rudd “not fit”
Andrew Bolt – Sunday, February 26, 12 (06:01 am)

Is that a professional opinion?

John Mendoza, who resigned as Rudd’s mental health adviser, says
the former PM is “not fit for office” and he will “leave the country”
if Rudd returns to The Lodge.

Sounds serious:

The Australian public is now starting to understand that
he (Mr Rudd) wasn’t knifed in the back, in fact
he was removed for his own wellbeing and
the Government of the country had to function,

I'd like Professor Mendoza, former Chief Executive of the Mental Health Council,
to make clear in which capacity he’s speaking.

Facebook admitted reading text messages belonging to smartphone users

Security app My Remote Lock and the app Tennis Juggling Game were among

Brazil: Fire at Antarctic base kills two

A FIRE at Brazil's research station
in Antarctica killed two navy personnel
and forced the evacuation by
helicopter of 44 people.

The blaze broke out in the morning in the machine room that houses
the energy generators of the Comandante Ferraz station, the navy said in
an emailed statement.

Two navy officials at the base died
and
a third was injured in the fire
,

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff's
office said in a statement.

Rousseff's office said the base would be reconstructed.

The navy statement said that 44 people at the station at the time of the fire
were transferred to Chile's Eduardo Frei station
.

In a second statement, the navy said efforts to extinguish the fire were
suspended because of bad weather
. The firefighting crew was evacuated
to the Chilean base
and will return once the weather improves.

Chile's Defence Minister Andres Allamand told reporters the fire had
"completely destroyed" the base.
O Estado de S. Paulo
newspaper quoted an unnamed official of the Brazilian navy
saying the same thing.

A navy spokesman said those reports were "unfounded" and that as soon as
the weather improves "we will evaluate the damage the fire caused to the
station's structure."

Separately, he confirmed a report
posted on the O Estado de S. Paulo's website that
a barge carrying diesel oil to the station sank
during a storm in December.

According to the newspaper, the barge was carrying 10,000 litres of diesel in its
storage tank when it capsized and sank some 900 metres from Comandante Ferraz.

No one was on the barge as it was being towed by four small vessels
from Brazilian navy ships to the base, which started operations in 1984.

So far, none of the fuel has leaked and two ships are expected to reach the site in
about a week to try to bring the barge to the surface before any leaks occur,
the newspaper said without revealing how it obtained the information.

Darwin: Talking heads chat in minute's silence

THE Governor-General Quentin Bryce and
the Prime Minister Julia Gillard have both
been accused of talking through the minute's silence
during the memorial for
the 70th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin.

Punters started commenting on the NT News Facebook page after other readers
had complained directly to this paper about Ms Bryce.

Heather Malcolm said she saw both the ladies talking.

In agreement was Alana Chapman who said she saw Ms Bryce and Ms Gillard
talking and said they should be able to show respect and not talk.

Others agreed.

"She was talking to the Prime Minister. Very disgraceful and disrespectful,"
Darren Becker said.

Your Say

"Put two chicks next to each other and they'll fill a silence. Probably discussing shoes."
Glen

"Yep. Saw them talking, very disrespectful," Jenn Cameron said.

Debbie Holland joked about the Prime Minister's troubled reign.
"Maybe she was asking Julia if she wanted an appointment at the lodge
to dissolve parliament,"
she said.

While Haley Roddy said there were a lot of people talking through it.
"Not good,"
she said.

Amy Thompson lamented a trend.
"Seems to be the norm these days, the number of parents I see
talking their way through our national anthem at school assembly every week,"
she said.

"No bloody wonder the kids have no respect."

But Dimity Jessup said she didn't see the Governor-General or the Prime
Minister talking however there were many behind her talking, with phones
ringing.

The NT News put call into the offices of both the Governor-General and and Prime Minister but received no response.

your life, planning one thrill on another until the murder. Kill
for the love of killing. (guilty) Kill for the thrill. The
thrill-seeker comes from all walks of life. He comes from the

"Kill for the thrill. (assassin) Some people think newspapers
exaggerate juvenile crime. All that is defined mostly to the
large cities, juvenile delinquency is underlined. Thus parents
think something is going wrong with the environment. Adults
create the world, children live it. Juvenile delinquency is
always rooted in adult delinquency. And in this process, parents
play the key role when children grow up among adults who refuse
to recognize anything that is fine and good, or worthy of
respect."

Die! Die! Die! Die!
So what, it's your own problem to learn to live with
Destroy us, or make us slaves
We don't care, it's not our fault that we were born too late

So what? So what?
So what? So what?

Die!
Now that I know what it's like,
I'll kill them all if I like
Only time will decide
No one listened to reason,
it's too late and I'm ready to fight
So what? Now I'm ready to fight!
I'm ready to fight! [x4]

What are you worried about, you don't believe anyway...

Inno A Satana

(Hymn to Satan)

by Giosue Carducci, 1865

A Satana To Satan (English Translation) Notes

A te, de l’essere

Principio immenso,

Materia e spirito,

Ragione e senso;
To you, creation’s

mighty principle,

matter and spirit

reason and sense
A toast! The poem was originally written as a dinner-party toast. It is easy to visualize the poet with glass raised as he recites the poem.

Mentre ne’ calici

Il vin scintilla

Si’come l’anima

Ne la pupilla
Whilst the wine

sparkles in cups

like the soul

in the eye

Mentre sorridono

La terra e il sole

E si ricambiano

D’amor parole
Whilst earth and

sun exchange

their smiles and

words of love

E corre un fremito

D’imene arcano

Da’ monti e palpita

Fecondo il piano;
And shudders

from their secret embrace run down

from the mountains, and

the plain throbs with new life

A te disfrenasi

Il verso ardito,

Te invoco, o Satana

Re del convito
To you my daring

verses are unleashed,

you I invoke, O Satan

monarch of the feast.

Via l’aspersorio,

Prete, e il tuo metro!

No, prete, Satana

Non toma in dietro!
Put aside your sprinkler,

priest, and your litanies!

No, priest, Satan

does not retreat!
Against Satan, priests have no power.

Vedi: la ruginne

Il brando mistico

Ed il fedele
Behold! Rust

erodes the mystic

sword of Michael

and the faithful
Even the Archangel Michael, who led the army of faithful angels against Lucifer’s rebels, is deplumed and left with a rusted sword.

Spennato arcangelo

Cade nel vano.

Ghiacciato e’ fulmine

A Geova in mano
Archangel, deplumed,

drops into the void.

The thunderbolt lies frozen

in Jove’s hand
Even Jehovah himself is powerless.

Meteore pallide,

Pianeti spenti,

Piovono gli angeli

Da I firmamenti
Like pale meteors,

spent worlds,

the angels drop

from the firmament
The rebel angels descent to Earth from the heavens.

Ne la materia

Che mai non dorme,

Re de I fenomeni

Re de le forme
In unsleeping

matter,

king of phenomena,

monarch of form,
Satan is king of the physical, material realm.

Sol vive Satana.

E tien ‘impero

Nel lampo temulo

D’un occhio nero,
Satan alone lives.

He holds sway in

the tremulous flash

of some dark eye,
Satan’s realm or empire (“impero”) can be perceived wherever the life-force is in evidence:

O ver che languido

Sfugga e resista,

Od acre ed umido

Pro’vochi, insista.
Or the eye which languidly

turns and resists,

or which, bright and moist,

provokes, insists.
… in the flashing eye of a woman in a state of arousal,

Brilla de’ grappoli

Nel lieto sangue,

Per cui la rapida

Gioia non langue,
He shines in the bright

blood of grapes,

by which transient

joy persists,
… in the glimmer of a glass of wine, which makes us happy,

Che la fuggevole

Vita ristora,

Che il dolor proroga,

Che amor ne incora
Which restores fleeting

life, keeps

grief at bay,

and inspires us with love

Tu spiri, O Satana,

Nel verso mio,

Se dal sen rompeni

Sfidando il dio
You breathe, O Satan

in my verses,

when from my heart explodes

a challenge to the god
…and even in the blasphemous rebllious power of the poet’s own words.

De’ rei pontefici

De’ re cruenti;

E come fulmine

Scuoti le menti.
Of wicked pontiffs,

bloody kings;

and like lightning you

Both popes and kings - the heads of authoritarian regimes - were loathed by the republican Carducci.

of the alchemist,

and to the skeptical eye

of the sorcerer,
He also sees the beginnings of modern science in the essentially rationalist and secular fields of sorcery and alchemy.

Del chiostro torpido

Oltre I cancelli,

Ciele novelli.
You revealed bright

new heavens

beyond the confines

of the drowsy cloister.

A la Tebaide

Te ne le cose

Fuggendo, Il monaco

Triste s’ascose
Fleeing from material

things, where you reside,

the dreary monk took refuge

in the Theban desert.
The Theban desert of middle Egypt was a favored ascetic suffering ground for early Coptic Christian hermits.

O dal tuo tramite

Alma divisa,

Benigno e’ Satana;

Ecco Eloisa.
To you O soul

with your sprig severed,

Satan is benign:

he gives you your Heloise.
The poet here speaks to Abelard, a 13th c. Franciscan monk whose rational philosophy angered the church. His affair with Heloise got him castrated and exiled, but his Satan-given love of her persisted.

In van ti maceri

Il verso ei mormora

You mortify yourself to no purpose,

in your rough sackcloth:

Satan still murmurs to you

Maro and Flaccus are the poets Virgil and Horace. Licoris and Glycera are beautiful women of which they wrote..

Amidst the dirge

and wailing of the Psalms;

and he brings to your side

the divine shapes,

Rosee ne l’orrida

Roseate amidst that

horrid black crowd,

of Lycoris

and Glycera

Ma d’altre imagini

D’eta’ piu’ bella

But other shapes

the sleepless cell.

Ei, da le pagine

Satan, from pages

in Livy, conjures fervent

tribunes, consuls,

restless throngs;
In his cell, the monk’s sleep is interrupted by Satan- inspired nightmarish visions of crowds and leaders from Livy’s history of Rome.

Sveglia; e fantastico

D’italo orgoglio

Su ‘l Campidoglio
And he thrusts you,

O monk, with your memories

of Italy’s proud past

upon the Capitol.
For his treason against Rome’s true roots, the monk dreams, he is impaled.

E voi, che il rabido

Voci fatidiche,

Wicleff ed Husse,
And you whom the raging

pyre could not destroy,

voices of destiny,

Wycliffe and Huss,
John Wycliffe and Jan Huss, early reformers and martyrs of the late 13th and early 14th centuries.

A l’aura il vigile

Grido mandate:

S’innova il secolo

Piena e’ l’etate
You lift to the winds

your waning cry:

‘The new age is dawning,

the time has come’.

E gia’ gia’ tremano

Mitre e corone:

Dal chiostro brontola

La ribellione,
And already mitres

and crowns tremble:

from the cloister

rebellion rumbles
The poet alludes to the existence of secret rebels inside the church.

E pugna e pre’dica

Sotto la stola

Di fra’ Girolamo

Savonarola
Preaching defiance

in the voice of the

cassocked Girolamo

Savonarola
Savonarola was a defiant reformist monk who was burned at the stake in 1499.

Gitto’ la tonaca

Martin Lutero

Gitta ii tuoi vincoli

Uman pensiero,
As Martin Luther

threw off his monkish robes,

so throw off your shackles,

O mind of man,
The poet chooses Martin Luther as an example here explicitly because using him as an example would infuriate the church more than any other name.

E splendi e folgora

Di fiame cinto;

Materia, inalzati:

Satana ha vinto.
And crowned with flame,

shoot lightning and thunder;

Matter, arise;

Satan has won.

Un bello e orrible

Mostro si sferra,

Corre gli oceani

Corre la terra:
Both beautiful and awful

a monster is unleashed

it scours the oceans

is scours the land

Corusco e fumido

Come ii vlucani,

I monti supera,

Divora I piani;
Glittering and belching smoke

like a volcano,

it conquers the hills

it devours the plains.

Sovola ii baratri;

Poi si nasconde

Per antri incogniti,

Per vie profonde;
It flies over chasms,

then burrows

into unknown caverns

along deepest paths;

Ed esce; e indomito

Di lido in lido

Come di turbine

Manda il suo grido,
To re-emerge, unconquerable

from shore to shore

it bellows out

like a whirlwind,
The Church had proclaimed the steam-engine train to be a tool of the Devil and the poet here embraces the symbolism.

Come di turbine

L’alito spande:

Ei passa, o popli,

Satani il grande
Like a whirlwind

it spews its breath:

‘It is Satan, you peoples,

Great Satan passes by’.
He sees it as a man-made, science-derived invention that would deliver prosperity to the secular people of Italy.

Passa benefico

Di loco in loco

Su l’infrenabile

Carro del foco
He passes by, bringing blessing

from place to place,

upon his unstoppable

chariot of fire
In the new age of industry Satan (humanity’s ingenuity unfettered by the chains of church) destroys Jehova and thereby the oppressive and restricting tyranny of the Pope.

Salute, o Satana

O ribellione,

O forza vindice

De la ragione!
Hail, O Satan

O rebellion,

O you avenging force

of human reason!

Sacri a te salgano

Gl’incensi e ii voti!

Hai vinto il Geova

De ii sacerdoti.
Let holy incense

and prayers rise to you!

You have utterly vanquished

the Jehova of the Priests.

PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

Teach me, Lord Satan, the knowledge of the ages

Guide me in thy wisdom

Let me feel thy presence and experience what you have for me

Don’t let me be bound by irrefutable doctrines

But lead me to true freedom

Give me the strength to leave my comfort zone

To explore that which is forbidden by those who believe they are wise

Take away the fear that binds me

Set me on my true path

But if you don’t think I am ready, let it be as a sunrise

Allow me to see your light as well as your darkness

The fullness of who you are

Satan, Melek Taus, Lucifer, Azazel

If I could have anything, it would be to know your truth

To believe in what is real

Not in someone else’s insanity

So as I walk down this narrow road

Don’t let me be discouraged

As it is you who have placed me upon it

BESTOW UPON ME SATAN

Bestow upon me, Satan, the characteristics of the Dragon

Overwhelming strength, vanquishing all weakness

Uncompromising power, to manifest my will

A fierce presence, in the face of my enemies

Dreadfully protective, a shield for those I care about

May its fire burn in my spirit, keeping the black flame bright

Bestow upon me, Satan, the characteristics of the Serpent

Possessing ancient wisdom, creative in my solitude

Believably cunning, so I can make my way in life

Extremely ruthless, when people attack

In constant renewal, rising each day prepared to do your work

May its venom run through my soul, till it consumes me

Bestow upon me, Satan, the characteristics of the Peacock

Prideful in appearance, always showing off my beauty

Immortal spirit, living on throughout the ages

Steadfast in everything, willing to go anywhere necessary

Regal in stature, a presence to be reckoned with

May its essence fill my body, making every step one of confidence

Bestow upon me, Satan, the characteristics of the Raven

Forever watchful, never ceasing to observe those around me

Highly intelligent, knowing what to do in every situation

A spiritual figure, so I can teach others about you

Master of death, embracing it when my time has come

May its darkness surround me, where every living being will feel you with me

Bestow upon me, Satan, the characteristics of the Goat

Stubborn in the face of adversary, never thwarted in my goals

Fearless in the face of fear, doing what others dare not

Courageous without limits, climbing every mountain in my way

Wild to the point of abandon, free to be who I am meant to be

May its energy ignite my faith and desire, forever holding high the horns of Baphomet

Satan’s Temple

Black candles burning… Satan invoked

Sigils drawn… flesh is cut

An offering is made in the Master’s name

I have given you, Satan, my life force

My blood spilt for your victory

Come into me as I open myself

Your essence consumes my soul

I am yours… forever and eternally

How could I love anyone more than you… it is not possible

I live for you

My body is yours to make your will manifest

My mind I have given for you to create what you desire us to know

My spirit declares your glory

My soul is my ultimate sacrifice to you, my Master

Satan, you fill my mind and transform me

Darkness overcomes me, and I bask in its infernal pleasures

Your presence surrounds me, therefore I am never alone

With bended knee before your altar

I have made eternal oaths that can never be broken

May you always be glorified in everything I do

Foundations have been shifted as you work in my life

Where there once was light… there is darkness

Where there was stagnation… now there is chaos

Where there once was love… is hatred

Satan, I am your temple

I feel your presence increasing within me

When people look at me, they see you

As they feel me, they feel you

I anoint them with my blood

And when they drink of me, they drink of you

I praise you eternally, Lord Satan

Prince of Darkness, Ancient Serpent

You are great and majestic

With a beauty that shines more than the sun

And darker than the deepest hole in the universe

I embrace your darkness, I embrace your light

With you, I have all I need

Ave Satani!

PRAYER FOR SATANIST LEADERS

Lord Satan

Mighty One

Wisdom Incarnate, Speaker of Knowledge

I ask that you bestow your blessings on the leaders of our Satanic Community

Guide us, so we will serve you in the ways that you desire

Give us strength, to keep us going when things get tough

Bestow upon us wisdom, so we will know what to do in all situations

Inspire us to encourage one another, instead of tear each other down

So we will use our words to bless instead of curse

Yet push us to stand tall when we face things that are wrong

To fight if we have to, yet strive for peace

Help us, Father, to be there for your children-both the adept and the new

To guide them in learning what you have for them

To encourage them not to follow anyone but you and to find their own path

Let us not forget what it was like when we first came to you

How you were gentle, kind and patient

May we follow in your footsteps

To love as you love, teach as you teach

We are happy to be your servant; reveal to us the hidden things

Try us; so we may be worthy of your affairs that you place in our hands

Bestow on us your covenant as we trust in you

Let us receive your counsel, not acting unless it is your will

It is an honour to serve you, Lord Satan

Thank you for choosing us

May our lives be devoted to you; may we be a reflection of who you are to the world

Watch over us and bless your people

Lord and Mighty Satan, may it be done according to your will

PRAYER OF THANKS

Satan

For all the things you mean to me, I thank you

For the joy in my heart, the life in my spirit, I give you thanks

Satan, Father, you give me a reason to live

You give my life meaning

Every day is a treasure in which you encourage me to grow

You nudge me to enjoy every minute

The signs you give me, I treasure

The dreams you send, they guide me

Your presence reassures me I am not alone, for that there are no words

Energy you give when I am weak

Strength you pour into my being when I must walk the difficult walk

When I am sad, you comfort me

When people hurt me, you let me know you are on my side

You are everything I will ever need

You're my Father, who I go to with everything

My Teacher, who guides me in all knowledge

My Protector, when I am in danger

My Creator, who made me who I am

And above all, Satan, you are my God with whom I will spend eternity

Thank you, with all my heart

Thank you, from the depths of my spirit

Thank you, with all that I am

Prayer of the Satanic Warrior

Oh Satan, you give us the power to trample the remnants of Christianity that is left in this world

Fill us with your essence

Let it run through our veins, our souls, our minds… our entire being

We trample on the cross... we spit upon the book of lies... we desecrate the virgin whore

Forever standing proud against the Abrahamic ‘god’

We blaspheme his holy spirit and laugh at his suffering

Inspiring those in shackles to break free from his tyrant ways

Entice them to take that precious bite, where they will be delivered forevermore

You are the mighty one, Lord Satan

And have bestowed upon us the knowledge that has made us what we are today

We hail your name and stand strong with you for all eternity

Inspire us even further to do the work you have for us

To be warriors for you in this world and beyond

Standing up to our enemies and yours alike

We honour you through our words, our actions, our thoughts

Each day that we live upon this earth, may we grow stronger in wisdom and in our love for you

You are our Father, our Teacher, our Muse, our Everything

We have taken your mark in dedication

And the universe will know that we are yours

Place your mighty hand upon us and lead us further down your infernal path

Hail Satan!

PRAYER FOR EMOTIONAL HEALING

When insecurity hits me like a raging wind

Be with me, Father Satan

When doubt strikes me like lightning

Remind me of truth

When fear over powers me

Hold me in your wing, Great Dragon

If pain grabs me like a claw

Heal me, with your mighty power

When depression fills me as water in a well

Shower my soul with joy, Beautiful Peacock Angel

Anxiety creeps through my mind, taking over my thoughts

Place me on solid ground

When I feel I am not good enough,

Make my spirit shine as a star, Wise Serpent

And if I feel that it is too hard to go on

Give me strength

Prayer Upon Waking

At the start of this new day, Lord Lucifer

My thoughts are of you and I know you are with me

I give this day to you

Lead me to walk your path without hesitation

To places where I will gain wisdom

To sources where I will gain knowledge

And where I can make a difference for you

Push me so that no minute will be lost to laziness, inactivity or boredom

So I will be the best that I can be in all areas of my life

Watch over me this day

Protect me from my enemies

Wherever I am, may people see you in me

And in everything I do, may you be honoured

Prayer Before Sleep

At the end of this day, Lord Satan

I thank you for each gift that you have bestowed upon me

For teaching me ancient ways

For experiences both good and bad that has made me stronger

For the people you have taught me through

For the pleasures in which I have partaken

As I sleep, I ask that I may enter your dark realm

So that I may be in your unholy presence

Guide me, Satan, unto yourself

And may I be forever grasped in your mighty wings

JUSTICE - THE 'HEINER AFFAIR'
[6.07 p.m.]
Mr MICHAEL HODGMAN (Denison) -

As Her Majesty's shadow attorney-general for the State of Tasmania,
I wish to raise a matter of injustice which has concerned me greatly,
and I will be, with the consent of the minister, tabling in the House and
making available to Hansard, the full article written by Australia's leading writer,
Piers Akerman, and published nationally under the headline 'Tragic tale needs ending'.
It relates to what has become known as the 'Heiner affair'.

It arises in Queensland but it is a matter of concern to all in Australia who
are committed to the pursuit of justice. The article speaks for itself, but I am grateful to
the minister for allowing me to table it because it will save me reading it into Hansard.

Piers Akerman puts a very strong case for a proper judicial inquiry
into a shocking injustice, an injustice which has been covered up for 19 years.

It was raised at the Standing Committee of Shadow Attorneys-General meeting
in Sydney on Friday, which I attended;
it was chaired by the Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Honourable Philip Ruddock MP.

It was further raised at the national conference of Australians for a Constitutional Monarchy, which I addressed in Sydney the following day.

I seek leave to table the article by Piers Akerman and have it incorporated into Hansard.
I commend it to all members. If you accept, as I do, that the case here is overwhelming,
then the matter will be listed for proper debate in this Parliament at a later time.
Justice delayed is justice denied. The girl who suffered this massive injustice needs to
have the matter put right and I appeal to all of you to read the article carefully and
I hope you will support me when I intend to bring the matter back to the Parliament
for debate later this session.

Leave granted.

The article read as follows -
'Tragic tale needs ending
Federal Opposition leader Kevin Rudd may be called to answer questions
relating to the destruction of evidence as a police investigation into the rape of
Queensland girl 19 years ago gains new momentum.

The girl, who we will call Alice, was just 14 at the time and resident at the
John Oxley Youth Detention Centre, in the care of the Queensland Government,
when she was gang raped by other inmates.

Though some of the rapists confessed, no charges were pressed and the police
inquiry at the time was at best belated and perfunctory.

Alice's tragic story is but one strand of this horror,
the other is the Goss ALP government's attempt to
ignore her plight and bury the incident without trace.

That attempt began when an investigation directed by former magistrate Noel Heiner
and launched by the Cooper National Party government was shut down by the Goss government when it came to power.

The Goss cabinet ordered the shredding of all the documents collected by
Heiner and this marked the beginning of the Heiner Affair.

Rudd was premier Wayne Goss's chief of staff at the time and subsequently
became the director-general of his cabinet office. It was widely held that
nothing took place within cabinet without his knowledge, and he has also
claimed his experience running Goss's cabinet has equipped him to be prime
minister of Australia.

Though both Rudd and Queensland Premier Peter Beattie claimed as recently as
last week that the shredding of the documents needed no further investigation, it
has never been fully examined.

Both Rudd and Beattie also rejected the view of former chief justice of the High
Court Sir Harry Gibbs and an unprecedented plea from a former West
Australian chief justice (David Malcolm), two retired New South Wales chief
judges (Jack Lee, now deceased, and Dr Frank McGrath), two retired New
South Wales Supreme Court justices (Roddy Meagher and Barry O'Keefe), one
of Australia's foremost QCs (Alec Shand) and a legal academic and barrister
(Alastair MacAdam) that an independent special prosecutor be appointed to
examine the matter.

The most thorough inquiry to date was conducted by a House of
Representatives committee chaired by federal MP Bronwyn Bishop, which
recommended that 'members of the Queensland cabinet at the time that the
decision was made to shred the documents gathered by the Heiner inquiry be
charged for an offence pursuant to Section 129 of the Queensland Criminal
Code Act 1899. Charges pursuant to sections 132 and 140 of the Queensland
Criminal Code Act 1899 may also arise'.

Further, a recent two-year audit of the matter by prominent Sydney QC David
Rofe, which ran to 3 000 pages contained in nine volumes, concluded there
were 67 unaddressed alleged prima facie criminal charges against the cabinet
and civil servants that needed to be urgently addressed.

Alice still suffers profound psychological problems, exacerbated by repeated
charges that she is a liar, but filed a complaint with the Queensland Police
Service in March 2006, following the release under Freedom of Information
legislation, which included evidence that the rapists had confessed to both a
staffer at the youth centre, and the director of the facility, Peter Coyne.

The documents show that not only was she raped, she was also denied her legal
rights by the Queensland police - and those entrusted with her care.

Alice has been interviewed by members of the Queensland police taskforce
Argos and a senior detective from Argos last Tuesday sought an interview with
another person who has maintained an interest in the matter.

Rudd, who describes himself as a 'compassionate Christian' has not sought any
inquiry into the attacks on the girl and has not offered any explanation of the
destruction of the documents, though he had the responsibility for the business
of the cabinet. Whether the Queensland police are now up to fully investigating
such a highly charged political matter, given their studious attempts to ignore it,
is questionable.

As a number of the nation's most senior legal figures have pointed out, there is a
strong precedent for bringing charges against those who ordered and participated in
the shredding of the Heiner material, as shown by the case brought against a
Baptist pastor Douglas Ensbey.

Ensbey suspected that a member of a family in his congregation was being
abused and, while dealing with the mother, was given pages of notes written by
the victim. The family said they would deal with the issue and asked for the
pages back, but Ensbey had guillotined them, making them difficult to read.

The victim went to the police, aged 20, and the assailant immediately confessed.

The police, however, concentrated on the sliced pages and charged Ensbey with
the destruction of evidence under S129. He was found guilty by a jury in March
2004, convicted and sentenced to two year's jail (reduced on appeal to six
months, wholly suspended).

The action of the Goss cabinet falls under the same section of the law the police
used to pursue Douglas Ensbey.

Many see parallels in the campaign by crusaders against child abuse to hound
former governor-general Peter Hollingworth from office, though it was never
alleged he was involved in a crime.

Former Opposition leader Simon Crean said: 'You cannot have people in
authority who have covered up for child sex abuse. It is as simple as that'.
And it is. But what can be said about an Opposition Leader who may have been
complicit in the illegal shredding of evidence? If the ALP stands by the
standards it applied to Hollingworth, Rudd should resign and answer the
questions that the Queensland ALP has worked hard to avoid for 19 years.

If he has a shred of decency, he would consider Alice, and her need for release
from the hell she has been forced to live in because of this nauseating cover-up.'

Column - Put Bryce in her box
138 Comments
Andrew Bolt - Friday, March 06, 2009 at 06:25am

QUENTIN Bryce should be reminded
there’s room in this country for just one prime minister.

And she isn’t it.

And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 Barack-obama-quentin-bryce-2011-11-16-18-19-26And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 Qbraus1
And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 2011-11-16t224433z_1601637191_gm1e7bh0ixo01_rtrmadp_3_obama
Indeed, no-one ever voted to make Bryce our Governor-General,
other than the Prime Minister himself.

Yet her new job seems to have gone to her head, because our
Activist-General’s apparent pretentions to be the political leader we
neither asked for nor should want have become alarming.

Last month, for instance, Bryce called in the head of the defence
forces, Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, the head of the Department of
Foreign Affairs, Michael L’Estrange, and the Treasury Secretary, Dr Ken
Henry, for official briefings.

This was a first for any governor-general, her spokesman confirmed to The Australian. (Correction:
the Governor General’s office has since informed us that this report
was false. Previous governors general have also received briefings.)

And I’m not surprised: does this former sex discrimination commissioner
think her titular role as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
actually gives her real power over our soldiers, sailors and airmen? In
January, Bryce forgot herself even more completely, going to a big
international conference in Dubai on renewable energy and calling on the
world to fight global warming.

“We must act swiftly, act smartly and act together,” she declared.
“Australia will play its full part in the global effort to make sure we
seize that opportunity.”

Er, we will?

Even our real Prime Minister is now rethinking that plan, shaken by the
recession, while the Opposition clearly wants Australia to wait a while
before doing anything that will cost jobs.

So who was Bryce speaking for? Herself?

No can do, lady.

Bryce actually knew perfectly well when she accepted the role of
Governor-General that playing politics like this was not part of the job
description.

Her job now is to represent all Australians, not just Greens voters, and
to stay well clear of the politics that would make her a polarising
figure.

It’s as the late Richard McGarvie, the much-admired governor of
Victoria, judge and Labor man said—the job must go to a “respected
person who remains entirely above partisan politics and exerts a
unifying influence”.

There is a critical reason for that, beyond the fact that political
meddling by an unelected governor is undemocratic, which is why we’d be
upset if even the Queen tried what Bryce is now flaunting.

Even more important is that the essential role of a governor is to make sure the constitution works as it should.

Usually that’s an uncontroversial task—signing into laws the Bills
passed by parliament, swearing in an elected government and dissolving
parliament when the prime minister asks.

But as we saw with the sacking of the Whitlam government in 1975,
sometimes a governor-general must act in ways that can—if not done
carefully by an apolitical figure—have us at each other’s throats,
screaming that democracy is dead.

Bryce knows all this, but an enforced silence clearly chokes a woman
whose career was spent almost entirely on wagging an improving
finger—whether for the National Women’s Advisory Council, the Human
Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission or the Sex Discrimination
Commission.

So while she promised to stop politicking, she couldn’t help adding:
“But that doesn’t mean you can’t express views and opinions on matters
of importance to the community.”

Or of importance to Bryce, to be exact. And off the Activist-General
then hared, leaping on political issues with barely a blush of shame.

She backed calls for paid maternity leave, just as the Rudd Government
decided to put this $450 million extravagance on the back burner.

She regally toured the Murray-Darling basin and demanded more leadership
in tackling the drought and global warming, both issues of fierce
political debate—not just between Labor and Liberal, but the Federal
Government and the states.

And she launched the book version of the Garnaut Climate Change Review,
spruiking a highly tendentious tome written by Rudd’s hand-picked
adviser on global warming to fulfil a Labor election promise.

It’s hard to think of a more political document for the Governor-General
to endorse, other than the Labor Party platform itself.

I do not doubt that Bryce means well, and has seized on the
Governor-General’s job to do it. But what she wants to do comes at a
cost to the role she’s been given, and is best done by an elected and
accountable politician.

May I suggest she stand for election?

But perhaps that is now too humble an option for the rather grand Bryce,
who set a new first last month by recording a televised address to the
nation.

Again, she meant well, saying comforting things to the victims of the Black Saturday fires.

But it was incongruous to see a woman few Australians would recognise
and none have chosen deliver a message in a form previously reserved for
a Prime Minister or Queen.

Rather above her station, I thought. And perhaps the next time the
cameras come calling to Yarralumla, Bryce might consider that rather
than get on the box, she should get back in it.

And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 420quentinbryce-420x0
Australian Governor General Quentin Bryce
is facing new perception of bias claims.

The Governor-General has already sought advice
on another potential conflict of interest stemming from
her daughter's marriage last year to
Labor party powerbroker Bill Shorten.

Governor-General Quentin Bryce is facing a new perception of bias claim
as she seeks advice on whether she should be involved in resolving
the nation's hung parliament.

Two years ago Opposition Leader
Tony Abbott called for a royal commission

into the controversial Heiner Affair
,
which stemmed from the Queensland Goss Labor government's
shredding of documents from an aborted inquiry into a youth centre in 1990.

Mr Abbott told parliament at the time the royal commission should examine
a "compendium of evidence" on the matter prepared by Sydney barrister David Rofe QC.

Ms Bryce, who served as Queensland Governor before becoming
Australia's first female Governor-General, was among numerous people

It was raised at the Standing Committee of Shadow Attorneys-General meeting
in Sydney on Friday, which I attended;
it was chaired by the Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Honourable Philip Ruddock MP.

Australia's first female Governor-General, was among numerous people
"adversely named"
in Mr Rofe's document, a parliamentary committee was told.

GOVERNOR-General Quentin Bryce
has flown out of the country for the week
despite the potential for Australia's
worst constitutional crisis
in almost four decades.

Ms Bryce left Australia yesterday morning for a five-day tour of New Zealand
ahead of the extraordinary challenge to the leadership of Prime Minister Julia Gillard today and the volatile situation if Kevin Rudd wins and had to form a minority government.

After a week of the Labor government imploding, Mr Rudd's ministerial resignation and
unprecedented bitter infighting among Ms Gillard and her senior cabinet ministers,
Opposition Leader Tony Abbott may also move a no-confidence motion
when parliament resumes.

A spokeswoman for Ms Bryce yesterday said the trip was a long-planned state visit and
that NSW Governor Marie Bashir, as the most senior state governor, had replaced her
as administrator of the head of state's office.

"We fly back into Sydney on Thursday night," a spokeswoman for Ms Bryce told
The Daily Telegraph
from Auckland. "We don't expect any issues. It was long-planned."

But the spokeswoman would not comment on whether Ms Bryce had asked for legal advice
on Mr Rudd winning, having to renegotiate with the independents and asking her to form
a minority government.
"We don't comment on political issues," the spokeswoman said.

One constitutional law expert,
who did not wish to be named,
said that while Ms Bryce
may only be a few hours flight away
it was a strange decision.

It was raised at the Standing Committee of Shadow Attorneys-General meeting
in Sydney on Friday, which I attended;
it was chaired by the Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Honourable Philip Ruddock MP.

Andrew Bolt - Friday, March 06, 2009 at 06:25am

QUENTIN Bryce should be reminded
there’s room in this country for just one prime minister.

And she isn’t it.

And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 Barack-obama-quentin-bryce-2011-11-16-18-19-26And Labor still thinks Rudd is the bigger scandal - Page 3 Qbraus1

Australia's first female Governor-General, was among numerous people
"adversely named"
in Mr Rofe's document, a parliamentary committee was told.

So why are the "Billy Ruben's" of CONspiracy Forum land,
so proud to show themselves as cunts who attack the surviving
victims of those "they" FALSELY claim to be 'against'?

Simply, "they" ARE TERRIFIED of "their" 'partners and associates'
because "they" care more for "their" own ROTTING FLESH, than
BLESSING and BEING BLESSED with ETERNAL LIFE.

Why I get so much 'attention' from "them" is that "they" KNOW
just how much they have thrown at me to try to cower me into
hating, blaming and denying THE GOD WHO put and kept me
on this earth for nearly 51 years LONGER than "they" wanted.

This shows "their" Global Satanic Legions are beatable, WHEN
one holds and keeps The First Commandment, First and Last.

Oh and then there's also 'that thing' about the Continent sized
(and so, damned hard to deny), evidence of The Truth of God's Word,
that The Spirit moved me to Publish all over the world, against
all the worldly 'common' sense, that told me what would follow,
and God's Word confirmed I'd need to keep faith, to endure.

But the insanity of the God hating Legions, is also proven by
'their' 'making it about me', with 'their' constant attacks against 'me',
as if that can somehow 'delete' the published facts of God's Revelations
that OTHERS HAVE RECEIVED enough of, to start and/or continue in
THEIR OWN, UNIQUE calling, to Faithfully Serve The Creator of This,
Whole Real World, that He described from the beginning, to BEYOND
this age of the death throws of The Beast's worldly rule.

You know, the age when most of the world is chasing after gurus,
power brokers, scientists and doctors etc. to 'save' their 'lives' (and,
maybe 'the planet' if 'they' can squeeze that in), and rejecting
THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN, and WILL SAVE LIVES for ETERNITY.

So now, lets look at some of those,
"vultures, gathering around the corpse",
of The Beast's crumbling kingdom:

Well, good luck with that Mr Hill.
Yes, "Billy Ruben" et al, know all about burying threads that uncover "their" evil hands,

As "they" prove whenever I try to run ONLY ONE THREAD, on THE TOPIC that

Typically what most well intensioned Australians do not understand
when they vote green is that they are not voting for the environment
but a global scientific oppressive dictatorship.

Our sovereignty as a nation will no longer exist and our right
to vote for leaders will no longer exist.

If you listen to what British politicians are saying about the United Europe
is that they have a European President that is not democratically elected
and that is a small feature of a united world, except they often quote that
communist China should be the model on which this New World Order be
built. I don't know about you but I'm not prepared to give up our
constitution for one like China's.Think about it!!! This video
originally uploaded by youtube user wakeup2thelies I thank him for
bringing this to my attention,he has about 8000+ views but I feel many
more Aussies need to see and know what is being planned by these so
called greens. Our government is not listening to us, just the beginning
of the nightmare that could unfold.

(Note: the poster of this video seems to only have a 'worldly' 'understanding' of
The Really Big Picture, going by their lack of understanding of 'Who' 'China' ARE.)

Oh and remember, it was after YEARS of
"tintin/Ciggy/Cheeb and Co. et al",
FAILING TO COUNTER THE EVIDENCE
I posted, and FAILING TO FIND A
HUMAN SOURCE FOR THE THINGS
I DISCOVERED THROUGH THE STUDY
OF GOD'S WORD, that "tintin" got sent
to spy me out in my own home.

In those 3 weeks stay here, "tintin" also
DID DISCOVER that the ONLY 'Connection'
I have, is my LOVE and TRUST in
THE CREATOR GOD and HIS FAITHFUL WORD.

And so, the murderous violence against me,
was stepped up, in an effort to have me, AND
OTHERS, FEAR and COWER TO "Them",
instead of TRUSTING THE SAVING GRACE of GOD.

And sure, "they" may yet 'succeed' at ending my
mortal 'life', but if only one person comes to See
and Understand that what 'GREENS' BOB BROWN
is now GLOBALLY, PUBLICLY touting, IS WHAT
GOD WARNED US TO WATCH FOR, SO THAT WE
KNOW HE DOES EXIST, AND, KEEPS ALL HIS WORD,
then my imperfect mortal 'life' will not have been wasted.

Well of course, after Seeing and Understanding "they"
still have to choose to repent of man's Religions (like
the Religiously held beliefs in 'Green' PROPAGANDA),
and accept GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT of TRUTH, and sadly,
too many who DO See and Understand, still CHOOSE
to FIGHT TO THE DEATH, AGAINST THE CREATOR and
SAVIOUR of LIFE.
And I have to ask, WHY post thread after thread of
FAKE, FORUM 'Names' bitching at OTHER FAKE, FORUM 'Names',

Questions for Rhiannon

Senator Arthur Sinodinos, formerly John Howard’s chief of staff,
has checked the ASIO files on Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon
and compared it with what Rhiannon claims.

And in a powerful speech to the Senate, he says:

<blockquote>In preparing for this, I was reminded of a quote from
the Spanish-American philosopher George Santayana that those who cannot
remember the past are condemned to repeat it…

Senator Rhiannon, if you were not a neo-Stalinist, what were you? Are
the Greens just another front for you and your Eastern bloc claque? You
owe the Senate and the people of New South Wales and Australia a full
and frank explanation of all these matters.

</blockquote>

Read on for Sinodinos’s speech:

Senator SINODINOS (New South Wales) (13:00): I
rise on a matter of public interest to do with my colleague Senator
Rhiannon and ASIO. In March 2010, in two speeches to the New South Wales
Legislative Council, the then Lee Rhiannon sought to discredit ASIO’s
surveillance of and files on her, claiming that they were riddled with
errors. Shortly afterwards, the questionable claims in her speeches were
reported as fact in a breathless newspaper article entitled ‘ASIO
spooks spied on little girls’. Thus Lee Rhiannon, who at the time was
vying for the Senate, was attempting to inoculate against objective
coverage of her 800-page ASIO file which had just been released by the
National Archives. In a blog on 3 September 2010 entitled ‘Responding to
attacks on my family and political background’, the now Senator
Rhiannon revisited the same theme while giving rose tinted accounts of
her early activism.

I have looked at Lee Brown, aka Gorman, aka Rhiannon’s ASIO files and I
must say I am impressed with their thoroughness and the obvious skill
involved in their compilation. While ASIO’s intelligence was not
perfect, as is to be expected, it was much, much better than Senator
Rhiannon has made out. Senator Rhiannon claims that ASIO’s ‘biggest
howler’ was ‘the assertion that I studied motor mechanics at UNSW’. This
is disingenuous. In fact, the ASIO report on the Young Socialist
League’s Marxist coaching seminar states that, ‘Lee Brown made the
general remark that she is studying motor mechanics at the University of
New South Wales, where she is currently employed as a lecturer’. ASIO
were not making that assertion; it was ASIO reporting Lee Brown’s own
words, a significant distinction I would have thought, since elsewhere
ASIO accurately record her university studies.

Recently it was disclosed that on 19 January 1970, as an 18-year-old
embarking on a voyage to the UK on the Russian vessel Shota Rustaveli,
Lee Brown was appointed to meet one Vladimir Alekseev from the Soviet
Embassy in cabin 190 on J-deck, where he would wait for her. An ASIO
intelligence file reveals that, when arranging this meeting, Alekseev
said that he was calling on behalf of one Ivan Stenin. An ASIO telephone
intercept reveals that the previous month Stenin had contacted
Rhiannon’s father who was intending to travel abroad before his daughter
by air to England, Switzerland and Russia. We now know of ASIO’s
conclusion that Stenin was a senior intelligence officer, and that many
believe that Vladimir Alekseev was the KGB station chief or ‘rezident’
at the Soviet Embassy in Canberra.

It is therefore timely to examine Senator Rhiannon’s ASIO file and to
test some of her other claims. In her 2010 blog she claimed that there
was no expectation she would follow in her parents’ political footsteps.
But in truth Senator Rhiannon was an in-vitro communist. According to
Mark Aarons, he and Lee Brown were ‘red-diaper babies’, a term by which
the Communist Party of Australia members affectionately referred to the
children of communists destined to inherit their parents’ political
genes. Rhiannon has perpetuated the line that ASIO began spying on her
when she was seven, because an ASIO precis-history of her activity has a
one-line record of her at a Tribune picnic in 1958. I think we can
assume that ASIO at the time was more interested in Rhiannon’s parents
and other communists than they were in Lee, precocious though she may
have been.

In fact, the first item in Senator Rhiannon’s ASIO file is a clipping
from an April 1955 edition of the CPA’s Tribune headlined ‘Kiddies’ big
part in May Day’, showing three-year-old ‘little Lee Brown’ dabbling at a
sign saying, ‘For me—Ban that H-bomb’ in preparation for the upcoming
May Day march. I am sure that ‘little Lee’ was oblivious to the Soviet
Union’s possession of the H-bomb which they had successfully tested two
years earlier. Rhiannon also claims ASIO inaccurately noted that she was
a founding member of the Eureka Students Organisation, in one stroke
glossing over her involvement with this organisation which was the CPA’s
youth wing, described by her father as being like the Pioneers. In its
heyday, the Pioneers was an international organisation for children,
operated by the Communist Party, which promoted sports and outdoor
skills while teaching communist principles. In actuality, Rhiannon’s
ASIO files record the application to attend the Junior Eureka League’s
1964 summer camp at age 13, her election as treasurer of the Junior
Eureka League’s South Sydney branch in 1965, her graduation from JEL and
her role as a Pioneer of the Souths branch.

By age 14, Lee was demonstrating against the Vietnam War. At 15, ASIO’s
files show she took part in a rowdy Eureka CPA protest against Prime
Minister Holt, participated in other protests, marches and communist
social functions, and attended a CPA Sydney district meeting. By age 16,
the ASIO files indicate that Lee did clerical work at CPA headquarters
during her school holidays. They also show that she was involved in
pamphleteering high schools, involved in Secondary Students for
International Tolerance and Equality and organising an anti-Vietnam War
peace ride to Canberra.

What the headline ‘ASIO spooks spied on little girls’ overlooks is that
the communists of the day did indoctrinate and attempt to use young
people and others to further Soviet ambition, a fact ASIO was well aware
of. The truth is that by the time Senator Rhiannon was 18, embarking
the Shota Rustaveli for the UK and who knows where else, she was a
hardened communist. It is easy to forget—and people born since may not
even appreciate—that during the Cold War the CPA was part of the
Comintern or Communist International which owed its loyalty to Moscow
and was dedicated to the revolutionary overthrow of our democratic
system. The CPA received funding and took direction from the Soviet
Union, senior members regularly travelled to and trained in Russia, its
members infiltrated other organisations and agencies while a few were
involved in espionage against their own country, Australia. In this
connection I note Laurie Aarons’s accusation contained in Mark Aarons’s
book The Family File that Senator Rhiannon’s father, Bill Brown,
procured spies for Ivan Skripov, the Soviet diplomat who was later
declared persona non grata and deported for spying in 1963. I quote:

<blockquote>… he (Skripov) got onto Bill Brown who started to try
and get some people, and in fact, he got one or two people. I don’t
know what happened. It’s wrong in principle and also stupid to get
involved in that.

</blockquote>

After the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, which the CPA had
criticised, the Soviets began courting Dick Dickson, Claude Jones and
Bill Brown to overthrow those in the CPA who had deviated from the
Moscow line. Dixon and Jones apparently refused. Jones knocked back the
usual bribery, saying, ‘I was offered any amount of money that I would
like to name from the CPSU’—the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. As
Mark Aarons put it:

<blockquote>As good punters, the embassy hedged its bets… and had
already put money on Bill Brown, who had previously demonstrated his
loyalty by assisting the KGB officer, Ivan Skripov.

</blockquote>

This was Bill Brown’s hour. ASIO documents show that the Soviets—Stenin
in particular—had established a clandestine link with Bill Brown outside
of CPA channels and that communications increased dramatically after
the invasion of Czechoslovakia. Given all the above, but in particular
given Bill and Lee Brown’s involvement with the KGB agents Stenin and
Alekseev at exactly this time, is it any wonder ASIO’s director-general
asked British intelligence to be apprised if Lee Brown came to notice in
the UK.

Let us now examine Senator Rhiannon’s initial response to the
Australian’s story about her rendezvous with the KGB agent Vladimir
Alekseev. Firstly, she claimed it was based on ‘inaccurate ASIO
records’. Contrary to her previous claims, the ASIO records are
generally very accurate. Moreover, ASIO’s report of the telephone
intercept of Vladimir Alekseev’s call to her mother, Freda Brown, is
quite detailed. Secondly, she claimed the attempt to associate her
departure on a Russian cruise ship to potential spy activities was
ridiculous. That claim was not made. Thirdly, she said, ‘I’ve never been
a spy and no-one ever attempted to recruit me.’ Again, no-one made that
allegation. The suggestion was that the KGB wanted to cultivate her as a
long-term agent of influence. Fourthly, she said, ‘Spy reports of me
being involved in clandestine meetings on board the ship are wrong.’ Did
you meet Alekseev or not? Fifthly, Senator Rhiannon played the ingenue,
just a young student, who was involved in some anti-Vietnam war
protests, embarking on a working holiday. I think we have established
she had a much longer rap sheet than that.

Senator Rhiannon may get away with this sort of fudging with her Eastern
bloc comrades in the New South Wales Greens; she cannot get away from
it here. As the Australian noted, Senator Rhiannon dismissed the report
of her rendezvous with Vladimir Alekseev as Cold War delusions but did
not deny the claim.

Finally, yesterday Senator Rhiannon, in a letter to the editor in the
Australian, asserted that to the best of her knowledge she had never met
a Russian spy and never attended a meeting on the ship—not a totally
unqualified denial. There are therefore a number of very serious
questions which Senator Rhiannon must answer. What was her involvement
with KGB agents Ivan Stenin and Vladimir Alekseev? Did she visit any
Eastern bloc countries in 1970-71? If so, which ones, why and precisely
when did she return to Australia? Did she attend the Lenin School during
any of her trips abroad?

In 2010 Senator Rhiannon promised that a full report on her ASIO file
would shortly be placed on her website. She never did this. I encourage
her to do so. It would be helpful to her and to the Senate. Perhaps she
could detail the extent of her involvement in plans to raise money for
North Vietnam, revealed in ASIO’s telephone intercept of 18 May 1972.
Senator Rhiannon may also care to confirm ASIO’s belief that she
authored a caustic letter to the Sydney Morning Herald on 26 February
1974—a fortnight after that giant of letters and human rights of the
20th century Alexander Solzhenitsyn was deported from the USSR and
stripped of his Soviet citizenship after the KGB found his manuscript
for the first part of The Gulag Archipelago. In the letter, one Lee
Brown took issue with the suggestion of Dick Klugman—a former Labor MP
and distinguished member of the lower house—that the Canberra street in
which the Soviet Embassy is situated be renamed Solzhenitsyn Avenue. She
suggested that streets around the US Embassy be renamed Watergate
Boulevard, Rosenberg Road and My Lai Memorial Avenue. The Rosenbergs, of
course, were executed for giving the Soviet Union atomic bomb secrets.

Lastly, in 2010 Senator Rhiannon said she did not support the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. I quote:

<blockquote>… My recollection is that we marched up
New South Head Road to the Soviet Consulate where there were speakers
long into the night ... Personally I did not support the invasion and to
conclude that when I was first getting involved in politics as a
teenager and in my early twenties I backed oppressive violent actions
against people in Czechoslovakia and Poland is ridiculous.

</blockquote>

Curiously, ASIO’s extensive surveillance files of protests disclose no
record of Senator Rhiannon protesting the Soviet invasion of
Czechoslovakia. They do, however, disclose the existence of a 1975
document for the Young Socialist League detailing planning by one Lee
Brown for a forthcoming Czechoslovakian delegation tour to Australia. No
doubt she made a personal protest.

I conclude with this question. Senator Rhiannon, if you were not a
neo-Stalinist, what were you? Are the Greens just another front for you
and your Eastern bloc claque
?
You owe the Senate and the people of New
South Wales and Australia a full and frank explanation of all these
matters. I say to the Greens as a whole that in recent times there have
been disclosures in a magazine, the Monthly, about a so-called rift
within the Greens between the original Greens, who came to the movement
out of a conviction that more needed to be done on the environment, and
other groups which started to join later on. One of those groups came
out of New South Wales. The real issue for the Greens now is the fight
that is going on for the heart and soul of the Greens. The Greens are
split. The Australian people should know that and they should know that
there are people in New South Wales within the green movement who are
seeking to subvert the green movement as a whole. Finally, it has come
to my attention over time that there have been attempts by people on the
Left to ridicule and trivialise the work of ASIO during the Cold War.
ASIO did what they needed to do. I am sure they made mistakes along the
way, but we should not underestimate the threats that we faced. In an
open society we do need bodies like ASIO to help protect us against our
enemies.

Sinister surgeon deceives 152 women

A ROGUE surgeon performed unnecessary, unauthorised - and in some
cases botched surgery - on 152 WA women in a suspected money-making
scheme.

In 141 cases, he risked serious complications, including making the women infertile.
In several other cases, the now-banned medico was responsible for horrific blunders.

His reckless actions carried on unchecked in Perth hospitals for more than
four years before he was stopped and banned. Until today, the scandal
has been cloaked in secrecy because of a court order obtained by the
wealthy surgeon's lawyers.

After a marathon and expensive legal fight, The Sunday Times can finally tell the WA public what happened. But it still cannot name the surgeon.

His patients have told of major surgical errors such as attaching the
uterus to the bowel, slicing arteries, performing vaginal "resizings"
when they were not needed and incorrectly performed internal procedures.

In 2009, the surgeon, who has since fled the country, pleaded
guilty to misconduct and gross carelessness before the State
Administrative Tribunal.

One charge related to him performing unnecessary secondary operations without the consent of his patients.

After delivering babies through caesarean sections, he removed benign
growths, known as fimbrial cysts, from patients' fallopian tubes. These
ranged in size from pinheads to large marbles.

He did not tell his patients or seek their consent for the added procedure which netted
him extra money despite the heightened risk of infertility and other
serious complications.

A confidential Health Department briefing paper obtained by The Sunday Times
shows that between October 2001 and January 2006 the surgeon performed
these extra operations on at least 141 patients after he delivered their
babies. Eleven gynaecological procedures were also identified.

Authorities first discovered irregularities in September 2005, according to the paper.

It referred to the surgeon's "billing practice" billing hospitals for the
original operations and the removal of the cysts, which reaped him an
extra $384 to $492 a patient.

The "billing practice" significantly increased during 2004 and 2005.

In May 2006, the Medical Board won an interim order to stop the surgeon
performing the second operations. A month later, it applied to
indefinitely suspend the surgeon.

A full briefing on the case was provided to then South Metropolitan Area Health Service
chief executive Peter Flett, then health director Neale Fong and former health minister
Jim McGinty in August 2007. They all agreed that "open disclosure"
should occur to all patients who "may" have suffered some harm,
according to the briefing.

A month
later, authorities began making contact with patients. Twenty-four cases
were deemed serious enough to require senior health staff to phone
patients and tell them to
seek immediate medical attention.

Of those, six were referred to specialists for further checks. Other patients were sent letters
informing them they had secondary surgery they did not know about.

Over the same period, several patients filed complaints with the Medical
Board over botched gynaecological procedures by the same surgeon.

Thirteen proceedings were launched by the Medical Board against the surgeon,
involving nine patients.

The first case, which was filed in November 2005, involved an incorrectly
performed hysterectomy that left the woman completely numb in her uterus region.

Another case involved repeated botched gynaecological operations on a 16-year-old.

The surgeon left WA in early 2007.

In March 2009, he was permanently stripped of his right to work as a
doctor in WA after he was found guilty of "disgraceful or dishonourable"
conduct for lying about the complaints against him while trying to get
work in South Africa.

Almost all the details of the scandal
had been kept secret because a
blanket suppression order was granted

after the surgeon's lawyers argued
he was at risk of self-harm
if the case became public.

The Sunday Times won a partial lifting of the order, allowing it to publish today's story.
The newspaper spent more than $120,000 in its legal battle. More victims of the surgeon
may now surface.

The WA Health Department issued a statement on Friday about the surgeon.

It said: "Dr X was regularly billing for secondary medical procedures
while performing obstetric and gynaecological surgery. Independent
reviews found that these procedures were not medically indicated.

"WA Health reported Dr X to the WA Medical Board in 2006 following concerns
about his practices. Immediate action was taken to stop him from
operating in WA and a clinical review was conducted to determine the
number of women who may have been affected by the additional secondary
procedures. He ceased employment at WA Health in early 2006.

"WA Health identified 141 obstetric and 11 gynaecological patients who may have been affected by the secondary procedures.

WA Health contacted the women, but was unsuccessful in 13 cases despite all efforts.

"These women have been offered counselling and referral to a medical specialist if necessary," the report said.

"WA Health condemns the actions of this doctor and regrets any harm and distress he has caused patients and their families."

A Medical Board official said: "Ultimately the practitioner was deregistered as a result of the action taken by the board.

"Surgical procedures generally involved risk to the patient and it is
unacceptable to carry out any surgical procedure unnecessarily.

"It is also unacceptable to carry out a surgical procedure
without the patient having given his or her consent.

LABOR'S problem MP Craig Thomson today said he wanted the Fair Work Australia inquiry into him finished as soon as possible.

More than $400,000 has been spent since September trying to hurry
up the probe into the allegations, but the report is still at least a
month away.

He spoke out today to slam claims of political interference in the investigation
into his period as a (HEALTH SERVICES) union chief.

Mr Thomson said the claims were nonsense and had been countered by the
general manage of Fair Work Australia Bernadette O'Neill at a Senate
committee today.

"There is clearly no benefit for me or for the government
for this case to go on as long as it has," said Mr Thomson in a statement.

"From a personal point of view, the sooner the investigation is finished, the better."
Mr Thomson repeated that "I have done nothing wrong".

"I have fully cooperated with the investigations and I look forward to them concluding'" he said.

"I note that the only investigation to have already concluded, that of the
New South Wales Police, did not find any wrongdoing by me."

Directors of Fair Work Australia, which has been running the probe for more than
three years, today admitted there were "legitimate questions'' as to why
the inquiry has taken so long.

And they told consultants KPMG
would be holding an independent review of the investigation and the
"unreasonably long time" it has taken.

They tried to speed up matters late last year. About half of the $900,000 the inquiry
has been billed by the Solicitor-General for assistance in the inquiry went to
attempts to hasten finalisation of the report.

The admissions of tardiness are certain to be raised by the Opposition in Parliament.

However, directors of FWA told a Senate estimates committee the inquiry was
unprecedented and part of the delay was that one respondent to the
inquiry has not yet replied to a draft report. The directors said they
were unable to name any of the respondents for legal reasons as the
inquiry was still underway.

Since April, 2009, Fair Work Australia has been investigating claims, including alleged
misuse of credit cards for the payment of prostitutes, against Craig Thomson when
he was national secretary of the Health Services Union.

The Opposition is keen for a report to be finalised as an adverse finding
could lead to charges against the Labor member for Dobelle, and a
conviction force him out of Parliament. The Opposition also would
consider a vote of no confidence against the Government he was a member
of, based on an adverse finding.

The political sensitivity of the issue has added to pressure on FWA.

"I'm of the view that on the face of it the investigation has taken an
unreasonably long time," said FWA director Bernadette O'Neill today.

"And that that raises legitimate questions as to why it has taken so long."

Ms O'Neill said, "These investigations are unprecedented in terms of size
and scale and complexity and are unprecedented and only a very small
number have been undertaken. So I do think there are inevitably lessons
to be learned about the conduct of the investigations."

Another FWA director, Terry Nassios, acknowledged to the committee that the
investigators had indicated late last year the final report would be
ready in January.

"As at mid-October...I was working on a timeline that by mid-November those letters
(to respondents) would have been sent out," said Mr Nassios.

He
had thought the investigation would be over by November-December. But
he had "misjudged the quantity of material" needed for the letters. One
person still has
not responded and has until March 5 to do so.

He expected a final report in March, because "obviously there is some interconnection
between those responses and the final response".

Mr Nassios said the failed deadline became clear in early November.

"Half of the cost of this investigation has been expended from September
onwards in an attempt to finalise this as quickly as possible," he told
the committee.

"That is the expenditure with the Australian Government Solicitor.
