Australia’s Desert Country

One third of Australia’s land is desert. Australia has 10 deserts of which the largest is the Great Victoria Desert, covering just under 5 percent of the country. Ironically, the Great Victoria Desert is not located in Victoria but is in Western Australia and South Australia. The Great Victoria Desert covers 348,750 square kilometres which makes it around one and a half times bigger than the UK or slightly smaller than Montana.

Australia’s first recorded earthquake after white settlement occurred at Port Jackson, New South Wales in June, 1788 and lasted for about 3 seconds.

Other earthquakes recorded in early Australian history were:

■Hobart in 1827
■South Australia 1837
■Melbourne in 1841
■Perth in 1849.
The first recorded deaths in Australia caused by earthquakes occurred in 1902, at Warooka, South Australia. Two people died of shock after a Richter magnitude 6.0 earthquake.

A train line damaged by an earthquake
In 1917, one miner died and 5 were injured in an underground rock fall triggered by an earthquake in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

In the last 80 years, there have been 17 earthquakes in Australia registering 6.0 or more on the Richter Scale. This is a rate of about one earthquake every five years, compared to the world average of about 140 per year.

Although the larger Australian earthquakes have caused significant damage, they are much smaller in strength than the world's most-damaging earthquakes. Until Newcastle's December 1989 earthquake, the damage caused by earthquakes in Australia had been comparatively low.

Quakes that Shook the Nation
Here is a list of some of the major earthquakes to have occured in Australia in recent times:

1 March 1954, Adelaide, South Australia
Adelaide was awakened by a loud rumbling sound. This was followed by shaking, severe enough to crack walls and loosen plaster and chimneys from many houses. Although minor compared to many overseas quakes, the Adelaide earthquake was (at magnitude 5.4) severe enough to cause damage estimated at $350 million (1997 values). No serious injuries were reported.

October 1968, Meckering, Western Australia
One of the more serious Australian earthquakes in fairly recent years occurred at the small town of Meckering. Residents reported seeing ground waves as well as experiencing difficulty when driving as the 6.9 Richter magnitude earthquake struck. Old buildings collapsed, railway lines were buckled and pipelines fractured, and a 37 kilometres long fault scarp (up to 2.5 metres high) was caused. Sixteen injuries were reported and the total cost of damage estimated $50 million.

22 January 1988, Tennant Creek, Northern Territory
Significant earthquakes of magnitudes 6.3, 6.4 and 6.8 occurred near Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. These resulted in large, long ground ruptures and a 35 kilometre fault (up to 2 metre displacement) which warped underground gas pipelines, but caused only minor damage to the hospital and some homes in the town.

28 December 1989, Newcastle, New South Wales
At 10.27am, Newcastle, Australia's sixth largest city, was partially devastated by a moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale. The Newcastle earthquake, the first lethal one in Australia, claimed 13 lives.

The devastation to buildings and other structures was extensive, which was unusual for a relatively-small magnitude earthquake. This was due mainly to an underlying, thin layer of alluvium, which appeared to magnify ground motion (shaking). The epicentre was located 15km West Southwest of the city centre, near Boolaroo.

August 1994, Ellalong, New South Wales
A damaging earthquake again affected the Hunter region of NSW, this time in the Ellalong-Cessnock area. Measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale, it became our third most-damaging. Several homes, hotels and other buildings suffered seriously and up to 1,000 homes were partly damaged. Infrastructure, commercial and industrial losses also occurred. Insurance payouts were $38 million and total damage costs exceeded $150 million (1997 values).

The End of a Myth

A map showing the Earth's tectonic plates and
earthquake zones.
(see the text on the left for more information)
Despite Australia's seemingly low-risk situation in the middle of one of Earth's larger tectonic plates, we have had many earthquakes larger than that of Newcastle. The map to the right shows that Australia is in the middle of the Australian-Indian Plate.

The Australian Geological Survey Organisation in Canberra estimates that on average, the Australian region experiences an earthquake of at least this size, or larger, every 13-15 months.

Most of these earthquakes have been in low populated areas, so for many years people thought Australia could not be affected by this natural disaster. The Newcastle experience dispelled this myth!

Australian Geology
Due to Australia's geological position, we are prone to what seismologists call 'intra-plate' earthquakes.

These are different to the more familiar plate-margin earthquakes, common in areas like California in the USA and in Japan.

It stretches from Portland in the west to Craigieburn in the east and from Clunes in the north to Colac in the south.........................................“ There are around 400 volcanoes stretching from the Western District of Victoria into the Western Uplands around Ballarat wave and to the north of Melbourne around Kyneton and Kilmore, in some parts of the Eastern Uplands such as to the north of Benambra, and across to the South Australian border near Mt Gambier.
A volcanic eruption in the Western Uplands could potentially see lava flows and ash falls impacting on Melbourne.

There is also similar volcano risk present in various provinces in Far North Queensland, stretching from south-west of Townsville to near Cairns and up to Cooktown in the Far North. There are more than 380 volcanoes in total across this part of Queensland.
A future eruption in any of these regions would be unlikely to come from an existing volcano (as the volcanoes there are generally considered to be 'once only’ erupters).
Rather, future eruptions would occur at new sites nearby.
The geological record shows that new volcanoes in these areas have erupted perhaps every 2000 years in the past 40,000 years—and given there has not been a major eruption there for the past 5000 years, a significant eruption seems well overdue. " (3)

COUNCIL of Europe inspectors have visited the Vatican to monitor its plans to tighten money laundering regulations.

The group from the Moneyval committee "met with representatives of
Vatican authorities dealing with the issue of prevention and fight
against money laundering and terrorist financing," a statement from the
Vatican said.

The group, composed of legal, financial and law enforcement experts
from five countries, arrived on Monday and left overnight, the statement said.

They are expected to present a report with their findings at a plenary session
of Moneyval "presumably in the middle of 2012," the Vatican said.

Pope Benedict XVI last December created a new financial authority
following an embarrassing investigation of Vatican bank officials by
Italy.

The Vatican also approved a law from April imposing sentences of
up to 12 years in prison for money laundering
and 15 years for terrorist financing.

Morocco Islamists win landmark election

Morocco's moderate Islamists have won the most seats
in a landmark parliamentary election.

MOROCCO'S moderate
Islamists have won the most seats in a landmark
parliamentary election,
the latest
religious party to achieve
spectacular gains on the back of

the Arab Spring.

The Justice and Development Party (PJD) captured 80 seats in the
395-seat assembly,
nearly double the 45 seats won by Prime Minister
Abbas el Fassi's Indpendence Party,
Interior Minister Taib Cherkaoui
told a news conference on Saturday.

The win - the first parliamentary poll victory for the party -
comes just one month after
Islamists
won Tunisia's post-revolution election and
days before their
predicted surge in Egyptian polls.

According to the new constitution overwhelmingly approved in a July referendum,
King Mohammed VI must now pick the prime minister from the party which won
the most seats in parliament, instead of naming whomever he pleases.

The king, the latest scion of a monarchy that has ruled the country for
350 years, proposed changes to the constitution that curb some of his
near absolute powers as autocratic regimes toppled in nearby Tunisia,
Egypt,
and Libya.

Earlier on Saturday top PJD officials said their own figures showed
they had won over 100 seats in Friday's polls, the first since the
approval of the new constitution.

"We thank the Moroccans who voted for the PJD and we can only be satisfied,"
PJD secretary general Abdelilah Benkirane told reporters after the government
confirmed his party had won the most seats in the election.

He acknowledged his party would have to tailor its program to appease prospective
coalition partners and said
the PJD is "open to everyone" when it comes to forming alliances
.

"The nub of our program and of those who
will govern with us
will have a double axis
,
democracy and good governance," he told the France 24 television channel.

"From now on, Moroccans will feel that the state is at their service
and not the other way about," Benkirane added.
"That is very important for us."

The PJD has gradually increased its share of the vote in Morocco,
seen as one of the most stable countries in the region.

After winning just eight seats in 1997, it surged in popularity,
scooping 42 seats in the 2002 election, the first of King Mohammed VI's reign.

It then increased its share in the last election in 2007
when it finished second with 47 seats.

The party focused at first on
social issues, such as
opposition to summer music festivals and the sale of alcohol,
but has shifted to issues with broader voter appeal like the
fight against corruption and high unemployment.

During the current campaign it promised to cut poverty in half and raise the
minimum wage by 50 per cent.

Unlike the banned Islamist opposition group Justice and Charity,
the Justice and Development Party pledges its allegiance to the monarchy.

But Benkirane
cuts a controversial figure for previously
derogatory comments about Berber people and homosexuals.

In 2010 he tried to ban a concert in Morocco
by the openly gay singer Elton John
because of fears of
encouraging homosexuality.

The National Rally of Independents, the second-largest party in the
outgoing five-party government coalition, won 38 seats,
while the Party of Authenticity and Modernity,
founded in 2008 by people close to the king, got 33 seats.

So far only the Independence Party has said
it would be willing to govern with the Justice and Development Party.

The king proposed a new constitution on March 9, just 17 days after
thousands of people took to the streets across Morocco calling on him
to give up some of his powers in the biggest anti-establishment
protests in the country in decades.

Morocco's pro-reform February 20 protest movement, responsible for the protests,
had called on voters to boycott the elections. It says the constitutional reforms are
insufficient.

Voter turnout was 45.4 per cent, up from 37 per cent
from the last parliamentary election in 2007, but lower than the 51.6
per cent turnout recorded in 2002.

"This turnout, if confirmed, does not reflect enthusiasm for
the new constitution or political parties,
"
said Haizam Amirah Fernandez, senior analyst for the Arab world
at Spanish think tank Real Instituto Elcano.

In all, 31 parties competed for the 395 seats in the lower house of parliament -
with 60 seats reserved for women
and 30 set aside for candidates under the age of 40.

IMAGINE if the actions of News Ltd reporters and editors were the
subject of a police investigation and they were set to be quizzed by a
parliamentary committee.

What do you think would be the reaction of Fairfax, Crikey and
Media Watch if we decided not to share this fact with our readers?

Given the interest shown in how we covered the hacking scandal in the UK, I
think it's fair to say a refusal to report the story would draw adverse
comment, don't you?

What, therefore, is one to make of the fact that it took The Age
six days to tell its readers that police had executed search warrants
on the headquarters of the ALP in search of evidence that its reporters
hacked into a database holding the details of millions of Victorians?

Last Saturday, The Age finally - reluctantly - broke its silence to inform its readers that cops were after them.

Perhaps they were spurred into action by the fact that the day
before the ABC had finally got off its bum and reported that the
Victorian Parliament is to probe the matter.
A lot of Age readers listen to the ABC.

The newspaper's trouble began with a front-page story that ran four days before last November's state election.

Headlined
"Secret files kept on voters", by reporters Royce Millar and Nick
McKenzie, the story told how the ALP "has secretly recorded the personal
details of tens of thousands of Victorians - including sensitive health
and financial information - in a database being accessed by campaign
workers ahead of Saturday's state election".

The existence of the ALP's Electrac database was hardly news. The Liberals have one called Feedback.

They are based on an electronic copy of the electoral roll. The databases
allow the parties to tag voters' political preferences and the issues
they are interested in. Feedback's principal use in my experience as an
electorate officer was to save money on mailouts during elections -
there's no point sending material to people who are never going to vote
for you.

The databases also allow MPs' staff to record their
interactions with their constituents. So if Mrs Jones has had problems
with Medicare that a local MP is trying to fix for her, each time she
comes into the office you can look up her history and she doesn't have
to tell it afresh.

The only part of The Age's story that was new was the fact - buried near the end -
that Electrac copies voters' dealings with MPs' electorate offices back to
a central database - something that Feedback does not do.

The ALP
was convinced the timing and placement of
the story was a deliberate attempt to hurt the party
in the inner-city seats where it was battling to hold off the Greens.

In April, when this newspaper first reported that the ALP had
called in auditors to review what The Age snooped on in Electrac,
its editor-in-chief, Paul Ramadge, denied any of his staff had hacked into the database.

"The Age was provided with access to a database by people involved in the ALP's election campaign," he said.

"They had come to us saying the database raised questions about how the party
was gaining access to people's private information."

READING The Age's story with its details of mundane constituent problems culled from the
database - "She is having trouble paying her rent and bills" - that
defence seemed reasonable.

But if that was the case, how do you explain the fact Age reporters trawled the database looking for information on high-profile people including Simon Overland, Jon Faine, Neil Mitchell, Peter Faris and Stephen Jolly?

Was The Age worried that Faine might have complained to his local MP about the trees
in his street and that this information was not being stored securely, or were they acting
like kids let loose in a sweetshop, punching in the names of the famous in the
hope of finding something interesting?

And what of the name of "Barnes" -- why did The Age
key this name in? Who is this "Barnes"? Labor figures are interested in
why "Barnes" was searched.
These are the sorts of questions The Age reporters can expect to be asked when they face Parliament next year.

The difficulty The Age is having in coming to terms with just how much trouble it might be in, over what must have seemed like great fun at the time, is revealed in
the way it finally broke its silence last Saturday, saying despite news
reports it was under investigation, "Victoria Police is yet to contact" it.

Last week Media Watch presenter Jonathan Holmes had a
second go at justifying his program's indifference to the only case of
alleged media hacking under police investigation in Australia after
earlier dismissing our report as a "beat-up".

Last week, Holmes quoted senior Age editor
Mark Baker's justification for his paper's actions: "This was aimed at
establishing the sort of people, including prominent individuals, whose
details were being held and electorates that were being targeted."

But if that was the case, why didn't The Age
in its original story name the VIPs it searched?
Not one of them was named. Also not mentioned were
key words searched, including lesbian, abortion, corruption and gay.

Labor says The Age may have accessed much more material than has been revealed so far. Our June report, based on the ALP audit, included only names searched while Age computers were the only ones accessing the database.

Labor says at other times The Age accessed the database at the same time as ALP staffers, meaning it was difficult to say with certainty whether The Age or ALP staffers were looking
at certain names.

Hopefully the police will be able to sort this out.

Here's an idea...send all the staff out, "Deer Hunting", and employ the victims,
who sought justice, rather than vengeance, to guard the criminals.

Well, lets face it, "Victim Impact Statements" do nothing,
when the criminals don't FEEL the IMPACTS stated, so maybe,
a few more of "The Untouchables=Protected in lush accommodation",
would benefit from seeing the tables turned, and learn the difference
between 'dumb bunnies' who "deserve a lesson", and the Good People,

I've just had to look at my finger because it seems to be going septic from a splinter I had. Splinter also reminds me of Splint. What I did first though was pierce the skin with a Needle. Needle also reminds me of the Isle of White. On the Germolene Wiki page also see the following...
Quote:
Germolene is a brand name used on a range of antiseptic products
produced by the Bayer company, which in 1999 [1] bought the brand from
the then-Smithkline Beecham. It is manufactured for Bayer UK by the Devon-based Wrafton Laboratories[2] division of US over-the counter and supermarket own label preparation producer Perrigo
Devon and Isle of White reminds me of David Icke and Project Avalon. The Adhesive Plaster I used for my finger is called URGO, but when I put Urgo into Wiki the first page that came up was Urgo (Stargate SG-1)

Stargate SG-1 Stargate's mean Time Travel.

Also when I put Plaster (Medical) into Wiki the first page that came up was Plaster

One of the images on that page is...

On the picture you see the letters IVF. IVF also stands for In Vitro Fertilisation

assisted reproductive technology have failed.
So, what the links mean, I'm not sure.

Speaker Harry Jenkins has resigned his position.
The Daily Telegraph

UPDATE 11am: A CONTROVERSIAL Queensland Coalition MP - who is facing
possible expulsion from his own party - is set to become the
Labor-backed Speaker of the Parliament.

Labor MPs are meeting this morning after Victorian MP Harry Speaker
dropped a bombshell announcement that he was quitting as Speaker after
1382 days in the hot seat.

Mr Jenkins only told Prime Minister Julia Gillard about his decision
at 7.30am today.

It is believed Labor will nominate the Coalition MP and deputy Speaker Peter Slipper for the post.

The move will immediately change the numbers on the floor of the House of Representatives, giving Labor an extra vote.

“It will increase our numbers and 76-73 is better than 75-74,” said one Labor MP backing the push to put Mr Slipper in the post.

Senior Labor sources said the Caucus was meeting with Anthony Albanese, the
Manager of Government Business, to nominate Mr Slipper for the role.

But despite the advantage to Labor, a number of Government MPs are
expected to express concern about Mr Slipper being appointed to one of
the highest positions in the parliament.

Labor has 72 votes - plus Greens' MP Adam Bandt - in the 150 seat chamber,
relying on the rural independents to pass legislation.

If Mr Slipper resigns from the LNP and sits on the cross-benches, it would
make it easier for Ms Gillard to secure legislative passage as she
would gain the added vote of Mr Jenkins.

Julia should be the one resigning - Abbott

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott said it should be up to the Gillard government to
provide a replacement for Mr Jenkins, and stressed any Coalition member
accepting the post would be automatically dumped from the party room.

"This is bad day for democracy in Australia,''
he told reporters in Canberra.

"The Speaker has resigned so that the government can shore up its numbers in
the parliament,'' Mr Abbott said adding it should have been Ms Gillard
who resigned, not Mr Jenkins.

"I think what we will see after today is a Government dependent on the
Greens, Independents and a new speaker, which I think is a sign of how
fragile and desperate this
Government is to shore up its own position."

Mr Abbott said no Coalition member would be able to stand in as Speaker, following a resolution of the Coalition party room.

"Any of our members that might accept such a nomination would henceforth be
excluded from our party room and expected to resign their membership of
the parties,'' Mr Abbott said.

But Mr Abbott said he did not think Mr Slipper was at the party room meeting.

Speaker's frustration behind shock move

Mr Jenkins said he quit because he had become frustrated at the stricture
of minority government and he wanted to participate in policy and
parliamentary debate. As Speaker he has been unable to do that.

Mr Slipper has faced questions about his use of parliamentary entitlements
and is facing a possible challenge in his Queensland seat.

The Deputy Speaker earned the ire of LNP executives after snubbing a visit
to his electorate by former Prime Minister John Howard just over a week
ago.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott suggested Mr Jenkins' resignation was due to turmoil within the Labor Party.

Mr Jenkins told a hushed Parliament this morning that he would go
"placidly, with my humour intact'' as he received a standing ovation
from Government and Opposition MPs.

He explained that he had become progressively frustrated at the stricture of minority government.

"My desire is to be able to participate in policy and parliamentary debate,
and this would be incompatible with continuing in the role of Speaker,'' he said.

Mr Jenkins said he had always tried to uphold the fine traditions of Speaker and carry out
his duties in the most independent and non-partisan manner possible.

"I thank all members for their co-operation which they have
dispensed to varying degrees depending upon the individual,'' he said.

He also thanked House of Representatives staff including Clerk Bernard Wright,
officers of the Department of Parliamentary Services, and his own staff.

After teaching US President Barack Obama last week the phrase
"cheese and kisses'' for "missus'', Mr Jenkins slipped some more rhyming slang into
his farewell.

"I acknowledge my eternal indebtedness to my 'trouble and strife' Michele,'' he said.

He also thanked the four generations of his family "without whose support I
would never have been able to achieve the high office I hold''.

"I go placidly with my humour intact. I wish you all well.''

The World from Berlin

German papers were filled Wednesday with images of Chancellor Angela
Merkel and members of her cabinet standing with their heads bowed on the
floor of the Bundestag. Their statement said: "We are deeply ashamed."

The current interior minister, Hans-Peter Friedrich, reportedly is
looking for a way to ban the NPD without stopping the use of informants,
which would mean that the authorities would lose a valuable source of
information about the party. The departing Israeli ambassador to Berlin,
Yoram Ben-Zeev, has also called for a ban of the party. He told
the mass circulation daily Bild: "Democracies must fight against such
things. I don't want to draw comparisons, but the Nazis were also a
legitimate party. They came to power in a legitimate way."

'I thank President (Christian) Wulff that he will be meeting today with
the relatives, and offering a sign of solidarity and sympathy from the
entire German people,' said Merkel.

'These attacks were no more and no less than an attack on our democratic system,' she said.

Responding to opposition allegations that domestic intelligence agencies
had paid less attention to rightists than to leftists, she said, 'We
can do without that ... It drives a wedge into the unity among democrats.'

Update 9th June 2011
(SODLIKE:
Most users ever online was

UPPER House MP Bernard Finnigan turned up at Parliament for a
ridiculous self-indulgent cameo today….The fat pervert selfish in the
extreme, not even giving the government the respect to stay around for
more than a few minutes

The former leader of the Government in the Upper
House appeared at 4.35pm and left after eight minutes at 4.43pm. He
resumed his seat on the back bench on the Government side on the
chamber, but did not make any comment or contribute to the debate.

Mr Finnigan refused to explain his absence for seven straight
sittings to reporters and would not say if he intended to keep his seat.
He walked slowly to the carpark before driving off.

Under parliamentary rules, MPs are automatically dismissed from
office if they miss 12 consecutive sitting days without being granted
leave, traditionally allowed in instances of sickness.

Mr Finnigan missed seven sitting days and was required to attend
before June 23 to avoid being sacked, and forfeiting his $130,000 base
salary, access to an office and staff as well as subsidised car and
phone use. His appearance yesterday means he can remain absent until
September 14.

He only needed to attend
Parliament today long enough to have his appearance noted to win another
12-sitting day reprieve from expulsion.

UPDATE 20/05/11 here is his court case number 223 AMC-11-4367 F, B.V. (SUPPRESSED) what a joke
<blockquote>The slime bag appeared in court today and will appear in
court again in August. I wonder who is paying this fat slimy slobs legal
bills? He his hiding behind the fact he has not entered a plea to
hoping to stop himself being revealed…Too late sicko!
</blockquote>THE disgraced politician at the centre of child pornography allegations made his first court appearance at Adelaide’s Magistrates Court today!

The man, who has yet to plead to multiple counts of child pornography offences, arrived at court just before 10am.

He was accompanied by his lawyer Michael Abbott, QC, and his solicitor Dominic Agresta.

The trio walked silently through a large media pack and
entered the court. Oh don’t they wish they could say more my
friends…(feel free to send me anonymous emails!!!)

Section 71A of the Evidence Act (1929) bans the media from publishing any evidence tendered, or submission made, in the Magistrates Court relating to an alleged sex offence.

See the date of that act? Friggin
1929!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About time for an update, considering we are in
the super information highway of the 21st century?

Luckily I am not the media and as all this information is
publicly available on the internet. I take snippets from various sources
and do not claim to represent them.I choose to reproduce it here.

Alleged offenders can only be named and submissions reported, when they enter a plea to the charges. This was the case in 1929!!!

As he left court, the man and Mr Agresta were involved in a scuffle with a reporter.

Courts sheriff officers ejected the reporter from the court, and banned him from the building for 24 hours.

The man, who is on bail, will appear in court again in August.

<blockquote>UPDATE 24/04/11 Rann’s Press Conference, so much for an open government, just stick your head in the sand Rann! It will go away

Mr Rann declined to give any support to Mr Finnigan yesterday when asked if he should quit politics.

“That’s up to Mr Finnigan and those matters will be dealt with at a later stage,” Mr Rann said. Opposition education spokesman David Pisoni said Labor must explain why Mr Finnigan resigned as minister.

“When Mr Finnigan was announced as minister 72 days earlier there was great fanfare,” Mr Pisoni said. “The
Premier has been silent on the reasons for Mr Finnigan leaving the
ministry – South Australians deserve an explanation, why did we see such
a sudden departure of Mr Finnigan?”

Is it totally a coincidence NO ITS NOT that South Australian MP and acting Police Minister Bernard Finnigan has resigned from Cabinet today? Premier Mike Rann announced this morning that he had accepted Mr Finnigan’s resignation from Cabinet and Executive Council.
</blockquote>To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 524339-ministerBernard Finnigan being sworn in, now busted with kiddie porn

PREMIER Mike Rann says he is shocked by reports of an MP
being charged with serious criminal offences involving alleged
possession of child pornography.

The MP at the centre of the allegations has been identified as a
Labor MP but a six-paragraph statement released by Mr Rann makes no
mention of the MP’s political affiliations.

“For legal reasons, no person, including me as Premier, is at liberty
to reveal the identity of the person, the subject of the allegations,
or to disclose any information through which others may infer the
identity of the person,” Mr Rann said.

“It would be against the law for me to comment on the allegations as the matter is now before the courts.

“I believe that any potential witnesses with any evidence or
information about these allegations must co-operate fully with police.”

Mr Rann said the Government would, of course, co-operate with the police in the investigation.

The MP was taken to the City Watchhouse on Wednesday night, charged with four child pornography offences and later released on police bail.

He will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 20.

Detectives said their investigation was continuing.

Under SA law he cannot be identified until his committal, unless he gives his consent.

He returned home earlier today but had not spoken to the waiting media outside.

Politicians from both sides say they are shocked by the allegations.

Police said the arrest was the result of the Sexual Crime
Investigation Branch’s ongoing “Operation Decimate”, which targets
people who use the internet for child exploitation-related offences.

The maximum penalty for possessing child pornography in South
Australia is five years in jail for a first offence. The maximum penalty
for an aggravated offence in seven years in jail.

Section 63 of the Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935 says that an
aggravated offence includes an offender knowing that the victim was aged
under 14 at the time, or the offence being committed in the company of
one or more other people.

It is believed several laptops were seized from the MP’s suburban home.

Turmoil swept state political circles as details of the incident emerged.

There were reports that police visited the MP’s office at Parliament
House but this was denied by the presiding officers, who have to give
permission for police to enter the building.

Legislative Council President Bob Sneath said he had not been approached by police and Speaker Lyn Breuer said she had not been contacted by police.

Ms Breuer said she was “certainly concerned about the issue”.

Labor and Liberal MPs were in shock last night and few were prepared
to talk about the incident. Many were asking the media for details.

A spokeswoman for Opposition Leader Isobel Redmond said she could not comment.

It is understood the MP’s home was raided on Tuesday afternoon and police spent 24 hours analysing the contents of a computer.

Yesterday, they went to the MP’s office and seized another computer for analysis. Last night, police returned to the MP’s house.

One officer emerged from the house about 7.35pm and went to a police
car. He then carried what appeared to be a tape back into the house. At
7.55pm, two detectives wearing gloves searched a car parked in the
driveway.

They examined the boot and under the seats before returning to the
house. Police left the house at 8.10pm carrying several evidence bags
containing compact discs and a mobile phone and the house was shut and
left in darkness.

Why the MP charged with alleged child pornography offences cannot be named

THE name of the Labor MP charged with child pornography
offences will remain a state secret for months thanks to an 35-year-old
law.Absolute rubbish, should be one law for all…

It is further banned from naming any person charged with an offence, and must not identify anyone alleged to be a victim.

The act defines a sex crime as “any offence involving sexual
exploitation or abuse of a child, or exploitation of a child as an
object of prurient interest”.

The act says alleged offenders can only be named once they have
entered a plea – be it guilty or not guilty – to the charges, and have
been remanded for either sentence or trial.

The MP is due to appear in court again on May 20, when a magistrate will organise a schedule for the case.

Usually, prosecutors are given between four and six weeks to provide
declarations – summaries of the evidence to be used at trial – to
defence counsel.

Once those papers are handed over, alleged offenders are usually required to enter a plea to the charges within six weeks.

After the pleas have been entered, the alleged offender can be
publicly identified provided the court does not impose any additional
suppression orders.

Boasting killer faces long jail term,
Supreme Court told

A MURDERER who used Facebook and text messages
to warn of a potential massacre and then

text-boasted about killing his uncle
faces a lengthy jail sentence,
the Victorian Supreme Court heard today.

"I shot my uncle with a shotgun and killed him ... my uncle Peter,
he was a f... head and I blew him away, it will be on the news I
reckon,''
killer Sam Michael Westbrook told a cousin via SMS text the
day after shooting dead Peter Westbrook.

Sam Westbrook's Facebook page was also found to contain the statement:
"jack dies 2nite so doea ne 1 in Dodd Street that walks outside''.

In a case of what prosecutors called "reckless'' murder,
Westbrook 24, had the day before the May 23, 2010 murder at Maryborough
told people he was out to shoot a different man, Jack Forder, a partner of another
of his cousins, Alana

Westbrook.
SMS and voice calls between Westbrook and Mr Forder
recorded a heated exchange and threats, documents before the court state.

After drinking heavily that afternoon and evening, Westbrook -
who had been spoken to earlier by police because of his agitated state
but appeared to have calmed down
- phoned Alana and threatened to
"blow her and
her father's house up'' - a statement the prosecution said was
"drunken bravado'', the court heard.

Despite a friend trying to dissuade Westbrook from violence,
he texted saying: "Nope ova it
every 1 dies 2nite.''

Having stolen car and a 12 gauge Baikal shotgun from a Maryborough address,
Westbrook drove to Dodds St where Mr Forder lived about 4am, court
documents state.

Wearing an ammunition belt, Westbrook confronted Alana,
who said Mr Forder was not home, before calling out to her father,
Peter Westbrook, who appeared at the door of an adjacent house.

Westbrook turned and fired a shot, hitting his uncle in the chest and killing him
before reloading and firing to where Alana had been standing and then
reloading and firing a third time, the court heard.

Defence lawyer John Desmond conceded Westbrook, who
pleaded guilty to murder and reckless conduct, may be in his 40s
before he is released from jail but
said there was no intention to kill his uncle,
only
stated threats against Mr Forder.

(NO, HE STATED, EVERYONE:

"blow her and her father's house up''

and these still are NOT as BAD as "Billy Ruben's" threats!

Justice Betty King, noting
his communication of text and Facebook threats

would be taken into account for sentencing,
said the case had probably destroyed the family.

Westbrook will be sentenced on a date to be fixed.

THE man who ordered the Office of Police Integrity probe into Sir Ken Jones has quit his role at the police watchdog.

OPI deputy director Paul Jevtovic has accepted a senior role at the Australian Crime Commission.

The OPI director
, Michael Strong, is also leaving the OPI ahead of it being
scrapped and replaced by the Baillieu Government's Broad-based
Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC).

Mr Strong was warned months ago by the Baillieu Government that there was no role for him at IBAC.

An acting OPI chief will be appointed until the IBAC, which was due to
begin operations in July this year, is up and running, which is not
expected to be until the middle of next year.

A government spokesman today thanked Mr Strong for his work.

''An acting appointment will be made to head the OPI and ensure the body
continues to perform its role until the establishment of the IBAC and
Victoria's new anti-corruption regime,'' the spokesman said.

Mr Strong today said Mr Jevtovic would be leaving the OPI on January
6 to take up an appointment as Executive Director, Intervention &
Prevention, with the ACC in Canberra.

''Paul Jevtovic has provided exemplary service to OPI during a challenging period of our history. I am most grateful to him,'' Mr Strong said.

''The ACC is fortunate to have procured his services. It is a great pity his considerable talents have been lost to Victoria.

''I have written to the Deputy Premier, Mr Ryan, about the timing of my own
departure
from OPI. It would be inappropriate for me to say anything
further on this topic at this time.

“Arrangements are in hand to ensure management continuity at OPI.
It will be business as usual
pending transition to the Independent Broad Based Anti-corruption Commission.”

Mr Jevtovic was the acting OPI boss, as Mr Strong was on leave,
when the then chief commissioner, Simon Overland, came to him
in May
and made misconduct allegations against then deputy commissioner Jones.

Mr Overland later that day ordered Sir Ken to leave police headquarters immediately.

Sir Ken then helped spark an Ombudsman's probe into the OPI after Sir Ken
complained to him about the action taken against him by the OPI.

Allegations were also made to the Ombudsman that the OPI had abused its powers
during its investigation into Sir Ken and Tristan Weston, the former adviser to
Police Minister Peter Ryan.

Mr Jevtovic was accused of ordering the probe into Sir Ken as a favour to
Mr Overland because of an alleged friendship with Mr Overland,
who worked with Mr Jevtovic when they were both with the
Australian Federal Police.

An Ombudsman's report tabled in State Parliament on October 11 cleared Mr Jevtovic
and the OPI of any conflict of interest, or acting inappropriately, in ordering the investigations of Sir Ken and Mr Weston.

The OPI tabled its findings from its probe into Mr Weston two weeks later and
accused him of misconduct relating to his plot to get rid of Mr Overland as chief commissioner.

Mr Weston resigned from his Baillieu Government position the day the damning OPI report was tabled.

And Baillieu Government MP Bill Tilley resigned from his position as a
parliamentary secretary after the OPI report revealed he had secret
meetings with Sir Ken at Sir Ken's home and at the Shrine of Remembrance
while trying to persuade Sir Ken to withdraw his resignation.

The second OPI report into the misconduct allegations against Sir Ken
is not expected to be completed until early next year.

Complicated reasons, which the Herald Sun is not legally able to reveal,
will prevent the OPI making its findings on Sir Ken public.

The law requires the OPI to deliver its findings to State Ombudsman George
Brouwer, who may decide not to table the results in State Parliament -
or he may only table a censored report on the OPI's findings.

Crucial findings from the OPI's continuing probe into Sir Ken had to be left out of last month's OPI report into Mr Weston.

That investigation started after multiple misconduct allegations were made to
the OPI about Sir Ken.

The allegations were made by Mr Overland and separately by two very senior
people
who worked closely with Sir Ken at Victoria Police headquarters.

Chatchai said today that no one has been charged in the incident, and that an investigation was under way.
Elephant rides are popular at tourist spots around Thailand, including popular beach destinations such as Krabi.

Boasting killer faces long jail term,
Supreme Court told
By Mark Dunn
From:Herald Sun

Though this life-sized, standard bovine statue is not as huge
as other civic cows, the citizens of Harvard, Illinois, near the
Wisconsin border, harbor strong feelings about their mascot. Harmilda
the Cow has been the symbol of Harvard's annual Milk Day (Har-Mil-Da,
get it?) since 1966.

In 1991, a plan to uproot the fiberglass statue from the busy downtown
intersection sparked a protest by townspeople and children carrying
signs that read "Don't Mooove Harmilda." She stayed put, at least for a
few years. She's been moved a few feet, and sits at the "y" intersection
of two downtown streets.

To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 ILHARharmilda_prov
A mural of cows in a farm pasture serves as a pastoral background, but
don't be lulled. A few errant steps backward from the statue and you
might meet one of the locals up close, perhaps through a windshield.

The plaque underneath Harmilda still touts Harvard's civic claim,
"The Milk Center of the World."

Milk Days is the longest running annual festival (now a multi-day event)
in Illinois, according to the Milk Days web site. The town crowns a
fresh Milk Day Queen every year.

Cowlossus of Roads

On the roads of America, cows rule. Of all the animals that graze at the edges
of the collective driving unconscious, our rural milk-machines enjoy the most
frequent cement and fiberglass tributes. While many big bovines are identical,
cast from standard molds by F.A.S.T. and
like fiberfolks, each is important to its host community, local dairy, or cheese
boutique. The best place to start our cow round-up is Cheese-proud Wisconsin.
If you're lactose intolerant, turn back now...

Chatty Belle, Neillsville, WI.

In Neillsville, (clark County seat, fourth in the state in milk production),
stands Chatty Belle, the world's largest talking cow. Visitors can press
the button mounted on Chatty's base and Chatty will tell them many things --
like that a cow her size would produce over 270 pounds of milk a day. Or that
your best food value lies in one hundred percent natural Wisconsin Dairy cheeses.

A herd of prime bovines can be found around the Madison, WI, area. DeForest
once claimed the World's Largest Cow -- Sissy the Cow the mascot
of Ehlenbach's Cheese Chalet,. It's the same size as Chatty Belle (but is
not currently talking). It's 19 feet tall, 20 feet long, and two tons -- a
holstein cow made of structural steel and fiber mixed with epoxy. But it's
not the largest.

Janesville is home to Bessie the Cow, formerly of the
Oasis Restaurant, Motel
and Cheese Shop, refurbished after that established was torn down and
replaced with something new. Further east in Wisconsin, Manitowoc is
home to a big cow at Cedar Crest Ice Cream, named "Betsy."

Kadie the Cow, Columbus, GA.

In Harvard, Illinois, near the Wisconsin border, Harmilda the Cow
is the symbol of the annual Harvard Milk Day Festival (Har-Mil-Da, get
it?). She's been a fiberglass fixture in Harvard since 1966. An
ill-conceived plan to move Harmilda from the downtown
intersection sparked a protest by townspeople and children carrying
signs that read "Don't Mooove
Harmilda." She stayed put. The plaque underneath Harmilda carries
Harvard's civic claim, "The Milk Center of the World."

South to Stephenville, TX, to marvel
at "Moola," a Holstein Cow Statue on a Pole,
paying tribute to Erath County's dairy industry.
She's just bigger than life-size, on a platform mounted
on a pole at one corner of the town square.

Joining the herd, Ashburn, GA.

For decades, Kadie the Cow guarded the Kinnett Dairies from her hill overlooking a shopping mall in Columbus, GA.
She's about 20 feet tall. The dairy was torn down in the early 2000s,
replaced by a Best Buy, but Kadie remains, albeit sometimes crowded by
Geek Squad cars.

The most gargantuan cow is undoubtedly Salem Sue, in New Salem, ND.
She stands 38 feet tall on School Hill, the only hill in sight,
overlooking I-94. Sue stares intently over the flat fields that stretch
to the horizon, her reinforced fiberglass skin taut and shiny.

While most giants are clustered in the Heartland, cow appreciation can be found
from coast to coast. New cow statues pop up regularly.

In Carnation, Washington, the Champion Milk Cow statue next to Carnation Dairy headquarters salutes the "Foster Mother of the Human Race," producer of
a record 16,500 quarts of milk in the 1920s.
Woodstock, Ontario weighs in with the Springbank Snow Countess Memorial,
a statue of the World's Leading Butterfat-Producing Cow.
She churned out 9,062 pounds of butterfat and 207,000 pounds of milk
before her death in 1936.

And milk fans can still visit the Grave of Elsie the Cow,

Borden's milk mascot, in Plainsboro, NJ.

Delavan, Wisconsin

In the 1800s more than 25 circuses used Delavan as their
winter quarters. It was called the "Circus Capital of the World." The
town has chosen to commemorate its heritage oddly, with a life-size
statue of its most infamous resident: Romeo, the killer elephant.

Romeo was no misunderstood, one-shot killer. He was a serial murderer,
knocking off five people over a period of 15 years. He crushed one, he
impaled another with his tusk, he stamped a third to death. Romeo once
escaped from his barn and terrorized the countryside for three days. On
another occasion, while appearing in Chicago, he nearly tore the
theater apart.

We've visited the graves of many circus elephants
who were shot, or hanged, or electrocuted after one minor killing. Why
was Romeo allowed to live? Perhaps he was spared because of a story,
popular at the time, that he was merely acting out his grief after the
death of his favorite female companion elephant, Juliet. This sounds
reasonable, kind of, except that it was a made-up story from a circus
press agent. Romeo was apparently just mean.

To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 WIDELeleph11_4147
To Delavan's credit, the Romeo statue
(a fiberglass sculpture made by F.A.S.T.)
is not depicted as cuddly and cute. He rears menacingly on his hind
legs, eyes glazed, with a strap around his head that probably put him in
a bad mood. Inexplicably, a happy clown waves at Romeo's feet,
oblivious to the killer pachyderm that is about to fall on him.

If this is an accurate representation of 19th century circus life, then
perhaps Romeo wasn't a cold-blooded killer after all. Maybe the people
around him were just dumb.

BRITAIN'S Prince Harry had a whale of a time on a trip to Las Vegas --

The Royal won the whopping furry whale at Universal Studios theme park during
a break in training on Apache helicopters in California.

And he insisted on taking his new pal with him on a three-day break to Vegas,
known as Sin City.

It had pride of place riding pillion on his £95-a-day Harley-Davidson
motorbike. The whale was even in Harry's helicopter when he took it back to
base before he returned to the UK on Sunday.
A friend joked: "That Apache had two gingers in its cockpit."

Harry named it Winchester
a term used by pilots to announce
they are out of ammo and returning to base.

The pal added: "He refused to leave this thing behind when he went to Vegas
and it became the tour mascot.

"He introduced it to all the girls he met, and posed for pictures with it in
his Apache and on his Harley Davidson. It became one of the lads and
he was gutted to leave it behind when he left California.
But it is with the US Army Air Corps as a reminder of their Royal pal."

On his Vegas trip, Harry, 27 — in the States for eight weeks — visited several
clubs and was twice spotted with a mystery blonde.

Harvard, Illinois

The town crowns a
fresh Milk Day Queen every year.

the top of my foot, red and blistery, breathless, hot and cold sweats,
headache, body pain, vision bad (but that happens a lot, since the
beatings), and very sleepy. Would have slept the day away if I didn't
have to go get dog meat. But still, I also wandered up to see a friend
at work, to ask about his symptoms from a spider bite he suffered quite
badly from. Sounds the same, but then, it's still not safe for me to
trust hospital staff here. The spider hasn't hurt me as much as they do,
    so I'll ride it out.

Anyway, I was enjoying a long soak in the bath last night (well, today,
after midnight - a bit of relief from the pain and sweats), and
listening to ABC (Regional) Radio, quiz's and talk.
    Then when I woke for an hour this morning, I looked at "tintin's" thread;
and noticed what I had a long time ago, but filed in the back of mind:

The nature of talk radio and quiz's, is the great deal of, seemingly,
non-sequitur topics and statements, just like "tintin's" posts in The
NEWS Behind The NEWS in Today's News at DIF, that have absolutely
nothing to do with Today's News
, but rather, plots for coming events,
    both public and secret.

Well, reading "tintin's" posts, posted in the wee hours of this morning,
    http://forum.davidicke.com/showthread.php?t=11956&page=3255
    http://forum.davidicke.com/showthread.php?t=11956&page=3256
    http://forum.davidicke.com/showthread.php?t=11956&page=3257

was just like listening to ABC Regional Radio in the wee hours of this morning.

I probably wouldn't have noticed though (the spider bite making me quite
foggy headed when I am awake), if it weren't for the dream I had after
the bath, involving Government Housing Employees, low life scum, the
pedigree dog world, and a woman who manipulated men to do her dirty work
to gain unfair advantage, while leaving her to look like the innocent
victim of the men (who paid dearly), to make her look like she deserved
the respect of the position of power she'd back-stabbed her way into.

In the dream, the woman was trying to ingratiate herself with me, to
gain respect as a breeder, while actually plotting to destroy the breed I
loved, for which a traitorous government would reward her well for.

Just like too many women (and 'their' men), I crossed swords with during
my time in the pedigree dog world, one of whom (who stole one of my
dogs), also worked for ABC (Government) Radio.

And then this afternoon, I see the following news, and wonder,
how many others remember that at her first hearing,
    she claimed
    to,
"NOT KNOW THE POLICE WERE LOOKING FOR THEM"
    .

    Herald Sun

A WOMAN who went on the run with her fiancé
    after a
child porn raid on their Frankston home
pleaded with people to alert the police so they
    would be found
    , a magistrate heard today.

Sen-Det Rosemary Ross told a bail hearing that seized computer
    files revealed
76 images of a naked and semi-naked Rebecca Michels, 25,
and in a number of photographs
she was posing with a 10-year-old girl.

    Thousands
    of other child pornography images,
some of the most extreme and upsetting kind,
had been found on computers taken from their home.

Sen-Det Ross said that after 21 days on the run Ms Michels waited until
co-accused and partner Craig Stanley, 28, left their camp site to obtain
supplies before revealing to members of the public that they were
    fugitives.

    Ms Michels said
that if Mr Stanley found out police
    were on to them
    he would
"do a runner or harm himself'' and
she said he would never be found
    because he was army trained.

Sen-Det Ross said that when police arrived at Dimboola
she told them they lived on carp and baked beans
and they planned to survive on $100 a week
which would last them until 2012.

    "She was aware
police were looking for them both

but they did not want to be found and
wanted to spend as much time together
    until police found them both,
    because she loved him,''
the detective told Melbourne Magistrates' Court.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Dan Muling today
    grant bail to Ms Michels
after hearing her father would put up a $100,000 surety
    and a prosecution submission

they did not believe she would offend again
    while on bail.

Mr Muling ordered that Ms Michels live with her family in Darwin,
she was ordered to forfeit her passport and he also said
she could not contact her co-accused or access the internet
    except for work.

Ms Michels and Mr Stanley were arrested at a bush camp, 400km northwest of Melbourne on November 18
Mr Stanley was nabbed while shopping for groceries in a Dimboola supermarket.

They were charged with making, possessing and transmitting
child pornography, and committing indecent acts
    with a child under 16.

Ms Michels, who is tiny and has a child-like stature,
smiled and nodded from the prisoner's dock to her father, Ross McAdie
    ,

who travelled to Melbourne for the bail hearing.

Sen-Det Ross said the FBI alerted Australian Federal Police
that a number of child pornography images had been uploaded
to a website from an email address in Australia that
    contained the word"lolitasforever''.

On October 27 police raided the Langwarrin home of
    Mr Stanley and Ms Michels

and seized a number of computers and storage devices
and two days later the couple went missing
after telling friends they were going gold prospecting
    near Ballarat.

Sen-Det Ross said that examination of the computer files
revealed a number of images of Ms Michels, Mr Stanley
and two other adults sitting naked on a couch
    together with a 10-year-old girl.

As a result of police inquiries the other couple are facing charges
and the child is in the care of the DHS.

Under cross examination from defence barrister James Trevallion
the detective said it appeared Mr Stanley was a "controlling person''
and a witness had described him as being possessive.

    But Sen-Det Ross said that
in the pornographic images with the child
Ms Michel appeared to enjoying herself.

"The accused is laughing and she appeared to be
    a willing participant,''
    the detective said.

Outside court Ms Michels' solicitor, Ben Archbold said his client was
happy to be allowed to return to her family in Darwin
until the case continues next year.

ONE broadcaster called Julia Gillard a "whore" and another accused
partner Tim Mathieson of being gay

in blistering Twitter attacks as the
Prime Minister prepared to open the ALP national conference.

One tweet was deleted after complaints to the ABC.

The attacks underlined the heat being generated by Labor's debate this weekend on same-sex marriage.

Triple J's Paul Verhoeven retweeted the suggestion that someone
put illegal amphetamine "meths" into the ALP's drinking water
to turn the conference into "a wild sex game".

He also wrote "boo you whore" about the
Prime Minister but later deleted it, claiming it was merely a reference
    to a popular movie.

The Triple J presenter later tweeted that the
original tweet had been taken down "because the ABC were copping
    complaints
from people who clearly haven't seen Mean Girls.

Around a decade ago,
an "ex" CUSTOMS, FEDERAL, VICTORIA POLICE Officer,
made a complaint to VICPOL, about VICPOL NOT ACTING ON
a complaint against neighbours who
PROSTITUTED THEIR OWN CHILDREN.

It led to a meeting in my home with a top officer
who tried to talk me into JOINING VICPOL.

I declined.

Some years later, the complaining "ex" officer's daughter,
had one of his old friends, convicted of sexually abusing her
when she was a child, when often left in the friend's company.

He died "of a heart attack" before he was sentenced.

Now anyone scanning David Icke Official Forums and/or
"tintin's" thread, must admit that "they" DON'T promote
THE MILK of HumanE KINDNESS, but The LIE that,
"there's no escape from 'The Matrix'=MAJORITY CONsensus
of
'TPTB'", who "They" also PROMOTE "as untouchable"
CHILD SEX TRADERS, on Mega Threads
such as "tintin's/ms hope's", TNBTN, COMMON PURPOSE,
Madaline McCANN etc.

Yet, "they" lay the blame FOR WHAT "THEY" PROMOTE,
at the usual suspects, like Catholic Priests, other churches,
oh and "BRITISH" Royals.

While somehow letting DUTCH ROYALS off the hook, despite
BOASTING that THE DUTCH ROYALS ARE ABOVE
The British Royals, who "must bow to QUEEN BEE", of one of
The NORTHERN Kingdoms that SHOVED ANTI-CHRIST
"secularism" DOWN THE WORLD'S THROAT through "their"
DEMANDING "TOLERENCE" of
Leftist/Green/Gay ANIMAL WOmen RIGHTS
"democracy"=LOWEST common denominator, PUSHERS,
and DEMANDING INtolerence of ALL who SEEK to KNOW
and LIVE by The Creator God's Living Word.

And it's rather telling, that women who do want to marry a man,
and raise a Christian Family, DON'T get their right to do so,
demanded by the Secular, Leftist, Gay, Green "SisterHOOD" of
'powerful' and well funded yet LITTLE or NO TALENT (but for
NETworking), WOmen, such as the OVERTLY ANTI-BREEDERS,
OVERTLY BAD 'mothers' WITHOUT an once of The Milk of
HumanE Kindness, but who 'do well' FOR THEMSELVES,
like other 'mothers' who suddenly 'get lucky' after producing and
supplying, more 'fresh meat'.

But, here's THE Thing: those who do pay attention to
The Signs of The Season that God told us to watch for,
KNOW, "their" Season, IS COMING TO AN END, and
there WILL BE, TOTAL INTOLERANCE for those who
practice and demand tolerance of INTOLERABLE INJUSTICE.

I notice it mentions Illinois on you link and on that page I notice the following...

Quote:
Three U.S. Presidents have been elected while living in
Illinois—Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Barack Obama.
Additionally, President Ronald Reagan, whose political career was based
in California, was the only US President actually born and raised in
Illinois. Today, Illinois honors Lincoln with its official state slogan,
Land of Lincoln, which has been displayed on its license plates since
1954.
Also with you mentioning Cows it made me think of one of my first computers which was a Gateway, Inc. On the gateway Wiki page you see the following...

Quote:
Gateway Computer Corporation, is a computer hardware company headquartered in Irvine,
California, USA which develops, manufactures, supports, and markets a
wide range of personal computers, computer monitors, servers, and
computer accessories.
I purchased my Gateway computer in Chester and I also knew a guy
by the name of Barry Irvine who lived just down the road from where I
lived. I have a feeling it might involve a Massage Parlour and on that page
you see the following...

I'd imagine that Massage will be linked to Geoff and his Honda motorcycle with the registration 81(0) and 81 is the country Code for Japan

Also the guy I knew Barry Irvine worked on Rigs for British Gas

Also on the Gateway Wiki page you see the following...

To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 220px-Gateway_cows

Quote:
In the early and mid-2000s, the company struggled; after years as a
fixture on the Fortune 500 list of largest companies worldwide, the
company was not listed in 2006, having dropped to number 508. Gateway
was acquired by Acer Inc. in 2007.
Quote:
Gateway was founded on September 5, 1985, on a farm outside Sioux
City, Iowa, by Ted Waitt and Mike Hammond. Originally called Gateway
2000, it was one of the first widely successful direct sales PC
companies, utilizing a sales model copied from Dell,
and playing up its Iowa roots with low-tech advertisements proclaiming
"Computers from Iowa?". Shipping computers in spotted boxes patterned
after cow markings (specifically, Holstein cows) became a Gateway
standard. In 1989 Gateway moved its corporate offices and production
facilities to North Sioux City, South Dakota. In line with the Holstein cow
mascot, Gateway opened a chain of retail stores called Gateway Country
Stores, mostly in suburban areas across the United States. It dropped
the "2000" from its name on October 31, 1998.
My last computer in the UK was a Dell and was what I had the last
time I saw Barry Irvine. The first computer I had here in Chaing Mai was
an Acer. One day I spilt some beer on the keyboard and ruined it, I
took it to Acer Customer Service Center - Chiang Mai.

You also have a link to Holstein (cattle)

To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 300px-Friesian-Holstein

Quote:
Holstein cattle (also known as Holstein-Friesian cattle or Friesian
cattle) is a breed of cattle known today as the world's highest
production dairy animal. Originating in Europe, Holsteins were bred in
what is now the Netherlands and more specifically in the two northern provinces of North Holland
and Friesland. The animals were the regional cattle of the Batavians
and Frisians, two tribes who settled in the coastal Rhine region around
2,000 years ago.
You can also buy Dutch milk here in Chaing Mai and it has a Windmill on it.

I'm also wondering if there is a link to Havard University

Dell computers also remind me of Jasmine Homes and a guy by the name of
Del (Derek).

I'm also wondering if there might be a link to Cadbury Dairy Milk
and Cadbury Roses and the word Sex.

Also where I lived in the UK there was an old couple who lived over the
road and the lady by the name of Ellie was from Belguim and she had a
son who was Gay.

So, whether there are any links in what I've posted, I don't know.

Isaiah - Chapter 32 & 33
(Hebrew Dictionary of each word
and it's root meaning, at the links)

Isaiah 32:
1
Look! A king will reign for righteousness itself; and as respects princes, they will rule as princes for justice itself.
2
And each one must prove to be like a hiding place
from the wind and a place of concealment from the rainstorm, like
streams of water in a waterless country, like the shadow of a heavy crag
in an exhausted land.

3
And the eyes of those seeing will not be pasted together, and the very ears of those hearing will pay attention.
4
And the heart itself of those who are overhasty
will consider knowledge, and even the tongue of the stammerers will be
quick in speaking clear things.
5
The senseless one will no longer be called generous; and as for the unprincipled man, he will not be said to be noble;
6
because the senseless one himself will speak mere
senselessness, and his very heart will work at what is hurtful, to work
at apostasy and to speak against Jehovah what is wayward, to cause the
soul of the hungry one to go empty, and he causes even the thirsty one
to go without drink itself.
7
As for the unprincipled man, his instruments are
bad; he himself has given counsel for acts of loose conduct, to wreck
the afflicted ones with false sayings, even when someone poor speaks
what is right.

8
As regards the generous one, it is for generous
things that he has given counsel; and in favor of generous things he
himself will rise up.

9
“YOU women who are at ease, rise up, listen to my voice! YOU careless daughters, give ear to my saying!
10
Within a year and some days YOU careless ones will be agitated,
because the grape picking will have come to an end [but] no [fruit]
gathering will come in.
11
Tremble, YOU women who are at
ease! Be agitated, YOU careless ones! Undress and make yourselves naked,
and gird [sackcloth] upon the loins.
12
Beat yourselves upon the breasts in lamentation over the desirable fields, over the fruit-bearing vine.
13
Upon the ground of my people merely thorns, spiny
bushes come up, for they are upon all the houses of exultation, yes,
the highly elated town.
14
For the dwelling tower itself has been forsaken,
the very hubbub of the city has been abandoned; O´phel and the
watchtower themselves have become bare fields, for time indefinite the
exultation of zebras, the pasture of droves;
15
until upon us the spirit is poured out from on
high, and the wilderness will have become an orchard, and the orchard
itself is accounted as a real forest.

16
“And in the wilderness justice will certainly reside, and in the orchard righteousness itself will dwell.
17
And the work of the [true] righteousness must
become peace; and the service of the [true] righteousness, quietness and
security to time indefinite.
18
And my people must dwell in a peaceful abiding place and in
residences of full confidence and in undisturbed resting-places.
19
And it will certainly hail when the forest goes down and the city becomes low in an abased state.

20
“Happy are YOU people who are sowing seed alongside all waters, sending forth the feet of the bull and of the ass.”

Isaiah 33:

1
Woe to you who are despoiling, without you
yourself being despoiled, and to you who are dealing treacherously,
without [others] having dealt treacherously with you! As soon as you
have finished as a despoiler, you will be despoiled. As soon as you have
done with dealing treacherously, they will deal treacherously with you.

2
O Jehovah, show us favor. In you we have hoped. Become our arm
every morning, yes, our salvation in the time of distress.
3
At the sound of turmoil peoples have fled. At your arising nations have been dispersed.
4
And the spoil of YOU
people will actually be gathered [like] the cockroaches when gathering
in, like the onrush of locust swarms that is rushing against one.
5
Jehovah will certainly be put on high, for he is residing in the
height. He must fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
6
And the trustworthiness of your times must prove
to be a wealth of salvations—wisdom and knowledge, the fear of Jehovah,
which is his treasure.

7
Look! Their very heroes have cried out in the street; the very messengers of peace will weep bitterly.
8
The highways have been made desolate; the one
passing over the path has ceased. He has broken the covenant; he has
contemned the cities; he has taken no account of mortal man.
9
The land has gone mourning, has withered away.
Leb´a·non has become abashed; it has moldered. Shar´on has become like
the desert plain; and Ba´shan and Car´mel are shaking off [their
leaves].

10
“Now I will rise up,” says Jehovah, “now I will exalt myself; now I will lift myself up.
11
YOU people conceive dried grass; YOU will give birth to stubble. YOUR own spirit, as a fire, will eat YOU up.
12
And peoples must become as the burnings of lime. As thorns cut away, they will be set ablaze even with fire.
13
Hear, YOU men who are far away, what I must do! And know, YOU who are nearby, my mightiness.
14
In Zion the sinners have come to be in dread;
shivering has grabbed hold of the apostates: ‘Who of us can reside for
any time with a devouring fire? Who of us can reside for any time with
long-lasting conflagrations?’

15
“There is one who is walking in continual
righteousness and speaking what is upright, who is rejecting the unjust
gain from frauds, who is shaking his hands clear from taking hold on a
bribe, who is stopping up his ear from listening to bloodshed, and who
is closing his eyes so as not to see what is bad.
16
He is the one that will reside on the heights
themselves; his secure height will be craggy places difficult to
approach. His own bread will certainly be given [him]; his water supply
will be unfailing.”

17
A king in his handsomeness is what your eyes will behold; they will see a land far away.
18
Your own heart will comment in low tones on a
frightful thing: “Where is the secretary? Where is the one that does the
paying out? Where is the one counting the towers?”
19
No insolent people will you see, a people too
deep in language to listen to, of a stammering tongue without [your]
understanding.
20
Behold Zion, the town of our festal occasions!
Your own eyes will see Jerusalem an undisturbed abiding place, a tent
that no one will pack up. Never will its tent pins be pulled out, and
none of its ropes will be torn in two.
21
But there the Majestic One, Jehovah, will be for
us a place of rivers, of wide canals. On it no galley fleet will go, and
no majestic ship will pass over it.
22
For Jehovah is our Judge, Jehovah is our Statute-giver, Jehovah is our King; he himself will save us.

23
Your ropes must hang loose; their mast they will not hold firmly erect; they have not spread a sail.

At that time even spoil in abundance will have to be divided up; the lame ones themselves will actually take a big plunder.
24
And no resident will say: “I am sick.” The people that are dwelling in [the land] will be those pardoned for their error.

Overview

Herge's Tintin cartoon adventures have been translated into
more than fifty languages
and read by tens of millions of children aged,
as their publishers like to say, 'from 7 to 77'. Arguing that their
characters are as strong and their plots as complex as any dreamt up by
the great
novelists, Tom McCarthy asks a simple question: is Tintin
literature? McCarthy takes a cue from Tintin himself, who spends much of
his time tracking down illicit radio signals, entering crypts and
decoding puzzles
and suggests that we too need to 'tune in' and decode
if we want to capture what's going on
in Herge's work. What emerges is a
remarkable story of hushed-up royal descent in both Herge's work and
his own family history.
McCarthy shows how the themes this story
generates - expulsion from home, violation of the sacred, the host-guest
relationship turned sour and anxieties around questions of forgery and
fakeness
- are the same that have fuelled and troubled writers from the
classical era to the present day. His startling conclusion is that
Tintin's ultimate 'secret' is that.....

of literature itself. Appearing on
the eve of the release of a major Steven Spielberg Tintin film, Tintin
and the Secret of Literature should be avidly devoured by not only
Tintin lovers but also by anyone with an interest in literature,
philosophy or art.

GERMANS TRY TO KILL OFF POUND

Wolfgang Schauble predicted all Europe would one day use the single currency

BRITAIN will soon be forced to scrap the pound and join the euro,
one of Germany’s most senior figures said yesterday.

In a chilling threat to UK sovereignty, German finance minister Wolfgang
Schauble
predicted that all Europe would one day use the single
currency. “It will happen perhaps faster than some in the British Isles
currently believe,”
he said.

His sinister warning followed the emergence of a secret German plan
to build a powerful new economic government for the eurozone and
block an EU referendum in Britain.

A leaked German foreign ministry memo detailed plans for a
new European Monetary Fund. It also claimed the EU’s treaty could be
altered to centralise more power without triggering a vote.

In a further sign of growing German supremacy
within the EU, David Cameron was yesterday rebuffed by Chancellor Angela
Merkel in talks over how to tackle the euro crisis.

Last night British opponents of the EU were horrified by
the bellicose threat to Britain’s economic independence.

Tory MP Peter Bone said: “I would be happy to have
a bet with the German finance minister that the euro will disappear
before the pound. It is a completely absurd suggestion that will never
happen.”

Fellow Tory backbencher Douglas Carswell said: “It is a tragedy that
a continent of millions of hard-working people is run by clowns like this.”

And UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage said: “This German bullying
is deeply unpleasant and the sooner we leave the EU the better.”

Dr Schauble, who has used a wheelchair since being shot in an
assassination attempt in 1990, is nicknamed “Dr Strangelove” in
diplomatic circles.

To quote "tintin", "it's all connected". - Page 2 Images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRlL37G9loUkfVf9_Q4-mi50z2-CK-nvF1KwivoPgGv_fGIk76b0P7bWauj

In his astonishing outburst yesterday, he insisted he “respected” Britain’s decision
to remain outside the euro. But he claimed that the UK would ultimately
not be able to resist the tide of history.

His warning came amid a furious outpouring of anti-British sentiment in Berlin.
Top-selling newspaper Bild asked: “What is England still doing in the EU?” while
another paper branded Britain “the sick empire”.

Dr Schauble’s remarks came before the frosty meeting between
Mr Cameron and Mrs Merkel in Berlin yesterday.

The German Chancellor rejected outright Mr Cameron’s opposition to a new
EU-wide financial tax that would have a devastating impact on the City of London.

And she refused to be persuaded by his call for the European Central Bank
to support the euro. Money markets took a dip after their failure to agree.

Despite smiles and protestations about their close “friendship”,
their awkward body language at a news conference betrayed bitter differences.

Last night a YouGov poll for Prospect magazine showed 51 per cent of
Britons would vote to leave the EU in a referendum while only 32 per
cent would vote to stay in.

Carl Weininger buys world's most expensive dessert

A HEARTBROKEN businessman has tucked into the world's most expensive
dessert, which he bought for $33,500 to cheer himself up after he was
dumped by his girlfriend.

Diamond merchant Carl Weininger, 60, splashed out on the
extravagant pudding as a "pick-me-up" after she ended their three-year relationship.

The chocolate-laced pudding was styled like a Faberge egg and its list of
ingredients included edible gold, champagne and caviar.

It contained a gold bracelet and spoon set and the cherry on top was a two-carat diamond.

Weininger took the pudding to the Aviators' Ball, at the Sofitel Hotel at
London's Heathrow airport,
where lucky guests sampled the luxury dessert.

Each mouthful cost about $1200 and
the whole dessert took just 15 minutes to devour.

Weininger from Rugby, Warwickshire, said he bought the pudding to cheer himself up.

"Buying the dessert was a real boost for my morale," he said.

"I was dumped earlier this year and felt this could be a decent pick-me-up.

"I'm not much of a chocolate lover myself but
all the women who tasted it said 'Wow'.

It was absolutely delicious, as you would expect."

The pudding's maker is expecting to be recognised by Guinness World Records
having smashed the previous record, which cost a mere $18,000.

I long ago stopped bothering matching posts to topic titles,
even though at times they seem matched, and at other times

Warned to watch for, see and so know, God does exist, and

Crackdown on child support withholders
From:AAP
December
11, 2011
3:20PM

THE Federal Government is cracking down on businesses that fail to
pass on child support payments they've deducted from employees' wages.

So far, ten prosecutions have resulted in the recovery of more than $500,000 in unpaid funds.

A special investigations unit has the power to investigate employers who deduct money from wages and don't pass it on.

It will also probe businesses that fail to provide information about
employees as well as those which fail to deduct money from wages at all.

Human
Services Minister Tanya Plibersek says the government has an obligation
to ensure the children of separated parents receive proper support.

"While the great majority of parents pay child support, making their payments
on time and in full, it is deeply troubling that some parents, and some
employers, repeatedly fail to do the right thing," Ms Plibersek said.

I pray they will be happy with enough, and understand the benefit of thanking God for the rich and powerful who 'hear' the prayers of the poor, but grateful for the truly valuable lessons, that the blessing of being alive at all, affords us all.

Two senior policemen found doing cocaine
at big party at a Paddington pub

by:Yoni Bashan

Detective Inspector Shane Diehm and AFP Sky Marshall Darren Kolosque
both tested positive to cocaine and may be kicked out of the force.

Source: The Sunday Telegraph

TWO senior policemen who tested positive for cocaine the day after a work bash at a Sydney pub will be sacked.

Shane Diehm, a detective inspector, and Inspector Matthew Dennis
will be dealt a "loss of confidence" motion by Commissioner Andrew
Scipione and stood down.

A third officer, Australian Federal Police sky marshal Darren Kolosque
also faced the sack after a separate investigation by the AFP. He has resigned.

The three were at a party on August 5 for the retirement of former detective superintendent
John Alt, a respected commander who left the force last year.

Among more than 100 guests were officers from the force's Professional
Standards Command which investigates police misconduct, such as drug and
alcohol abuse.

Tipped off about the trio's activities a day after the function, NSW Police and the AFP arranged for drug tests.

Inspectors Diehm and Dennis were investigated but refused to "make admissions"
on where they acquired the cocaine or how much they had consumed.

The test on Insp Diehm, who was crime manager at Tweed-Byron Local Area Command, returned higher traces of the drug. The Sunday Telegraph understands neither
Insp Dennis, who was at Hunter Valley Local Area Command, nor Insp Diehm
will face criminal charges.

A senior police source told The Sunday Telegraph this was because the drugs had
been consumed and there was no criminal charge that could be applied.

A separate inquiry by the Police Integrity Commission is investigating an
alleged conversation about securing a medical payout through the police
death and disability scheme instead of being sacked.

The scheme is currently the subject of controversy after changes were made by the
NSW Government preventing officers from manipulating the system.

Days after the Paddington function, Insp Diehm was called to a meeting with
PSC officers and suspended on full pay. And Insp Dennis, who was driving
to the Snowy Mountains for a holiday, was called and asked to pull into
