Putin will teach you how to love the motherland...
A catchy little ditty all the way from Putin's Police State:

Re: Putin will teach you how to love the motherland...
When you get older and begin to consider the inevitability of your expiration from this mortal coil, reflection on one's achievements, the legacy one leaves the world becomes more prominent in the mind.
Lot's of people forget that Vlad has been in charge of Russia since the reign of Boris Yeltsin ended in 1999, fifteen years is a long time, a person can change a lot in 15 years, do a lot of growing up, and it should be a lot more widely recognized that this is not always a good thing.
For what is growing up but the hardening of the heart, the callousing of the hands, dulling of the senses?
To grow up is to grow enamoured by one's own sense of self importance, the hope and vision of youth is jettisoned while we settle for the limits of our own perceptions.
As we grow older, the idealism of our youth is betrayed, among the first victims of our progression to esteemed positions, is our inner child
Settling for the metaphysical satisfaction derived from what appears we find solace in what once was, looking ever backwards we mistake former glories for future possibilities.
In this way Putin looks backwards to the heyday of Capitalism, prior to the liberal subversion of the global capitalist system in the World just prior to WWI.
He seeks to implement authoritarian State Capitalism in line with Asian Capitalism, which is a very dangerous thing for a country as large as Russia with such a prominent cult of Machismo and military history, through the state using the Russian military and media, it appears Putin intends to increase demand in military production for the benefit of the Russian economy, this link between military development and a Nation's economy ties economic development to expansion, hinting to the ominous prospect of foreign policy (including propping up dictatorships, imperialism, covert wars) becoming a financial, rather than an ethical decision making process.
Putin was barred from a third term by the Russian Constitution. He had his first Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev elected his successor.
On 8 May 2008, only a day after handing the presidency to Medvedev, Putin was appointed Prime Minister of Russia, maintaining his political dominance.

Conspiracy theorists claim to value freedom, how can they like Russia so much?

The Endorse Liberty PAC, the one that Thiel supports, is as idiosyncratic as everything else in the Paul sphere. While Adelson and company have plowed their cash into TV ads, Endorse Liberty has focused on long YouTube documentaries about Paul—the latest runs more than 13 minutes—that explain his entire philosophy. In Nevada this month, when I asked Paul about his support from Thiel, he says he’d never actually met the guy. For someone he had never met, Thiel is incredibly generous. In January, the billionaire forked over $1.7 million to Paul’s PAC; this was on top of $900,000 he gave a month earlier. All of this is oddly believable. Thiel doesn’t even say that he’s trying to elect Ron Paul.
“The campaign really is for 2016,” says Thiel, chatting for a little while before his speech. “I think we’re just trying to build a libertarian base for the next cycle.”

Russia Today TV presenter Liz Wahl quits on air
For the second time American presenters on the Russian backed TV station Russia Today have gone off script to voice their personal concerns about Russia's occupation of the Crimea region of Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Abby Martin signed off her programme with an ad-libbed attack on the Kremlin. Now her colleague Liz Wahl has added her voice to the disquiet among the channel's on air staff by announcing her resignation on air.
Katy Watson reports.
