I Found This Write-Up In The Telegraph...
Americans are obsessed with the royal wedding – although not always in the way that you might expect.
For some it’s a love story, for others an affirmation of how charmingly Old World the British are.
But for a vocal minority, it’s nothing less than a propaganda stunt for the New World Order.
Watch this astonishing rant by Tea Party champion and radio show host Alex Jones.
Jones is a magnet for conspiracy-minded Americans of Left and Right, and it was he who hosted Charlie Sheen when the actor demanded a meeting with President Obama to discuss the 9-11 “cover-up”.
A couple of days ago, Jones gave this broadcast on the wedding and let rip a wave of Tea Party anger.
With helpful graphics photoshopped from Wikipedia, Jones reminds listeners that America was founded in rebellion against the British monarchy (who, he insists, are in fact German).
“The very essence of July 4 and 1776,” he says, “is resistance to the disgusting house of Windsor”.
Jones is right to expose the paradox of a republican culture that obsesses about a foreign monarchy.
But he goes on to draw lines between totally unconnected dots.
The House of Windsor is “a tyrannical group promoting eugenics, population reductions, all the carbon taxes”.
Golly...!!!
Apparently, the Queen regularly shuts down Commonwealth parliaments and is the head CEO of all those banks that Obama bailed out. She is the captain of a conspiracy to create a “worldwide government”, which will “close down the competition and redistribute the people’s wealth into off-shore cartels.
These people are parasites, they’re disgusting, they’re filthy and if we want to reclaim the spirit of 1776, we should realise how abhorrent monarchy is in all of its forms.”
Jones strays into territory occupied by British conspiracy theorist David Icke, who believes that the royal family are shape-shifting lizards from another world who holiday in the centre of the Earth and eat kittens for lunch.
The theory goes that the world is controlled through ancient bloodlines connecting monarchs, presidents, CEOs and communist dictators. The royal wedding is a bread-and-circuses distraction from America’s economic and cultural slide; Prince William and Kate Middleton are poster children from the coming New World Order.
There is a big difference between Jones’s populism and Icke’s sci-fi conspiracism.
But both reflect a rational attempt to make sense of isolated points of injustice – the Windsors’ millions and Goldman Sachs’s greed.
The mistake Jones makes is to equate money with power.
To many Americans, status is a reflection of wealth, and Jones naturally presumes that because the royal family are rich they must wield real authority.
But the British know them as figureheads – charming and amusing, yes, but living relics nonetheless.
He makes an even more embarrassing mistake when he calls for international solidarity with protesting British republicans.
He presumes that they are a mass movement, when in fact they’re a tiny group of nay-sayers and busybodies.
Like the Secular Society, they exist to rubbish the dreams that make other people’s lives worth living.
Jones’s rant is a nice reminder of the differences between British Toryism and American conservatism:

I get tired of explaining to fellow yankistanis that a woman does not HAVE to be royal to marry a Prince. It was just common practice in the old days as a matter of political alliances, but now that royals have sod all to do with politics these days, there's no longer any point in "keeping it in the family". With some fresh genetics maybe in a few generations they won't look so much like rodents any longer.
And it makes sense to keep royals around when you don't have Hollywood to distract the asses who are the masses.
