Hi don't know if anyone round here is intrested ,but apparently wikileaks is going to reveal some videos proving that the american military was complicit in the murder of iraqis ,the video exposeing this is due to be released about now ,but i havent seen anything about it and wikileaks twitter feed has not tweeted anything thus far ,also find it strange that the american administration got these 80 messages telling the government to step down and so most of the msm are busy with that story .http://wikileaks.org/

I see you point. But how do they distinguish between a Mujahadeen, when they wear the same clothes as civilians. Or a man dressed in full body Burkha/Hijab, who pretends to be a woman before doing the suicide bomber role, or pulling out a BIG gun from under the cloth, even some women have been known to do this.

Sunni vs Shiah (Shiite) these two have had issues for over a 1000 years. That's a very long civil war.

i personally dont like to take sides especially on the international politics ,and in no way trying to use this thread as an anti american thread ,just posting the news as it is ,the video itself was released by american military sources themselves that is why it is important ,and i understand that thousands of documented and undocumented war crimes are happening very often, and thought it was intresting ,the video shows that the soliders knew the cilivillians had no weapons and still decieded to fire on them ,also the resoloution in the video is very bad something that the people at the time of the event would have had better resoloution viewing to make a decision on,anyhow i think this will make big news soon ,rueters are already commenting on it and i assume more will follow like bbc and cnn http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL05399965

Quite directly this was a case of mistaken identification of weapons. They targeted journalists (from Reuters) "armed" with cameras. In the medical world this would be called "malpractice" and result in a doctor's loss of his license to practice. In the military world there is normally a disciplinary procedure involved for this as a matter of incompetence. There was none such, and because U.S. military authorities failed to discipline the scouts and spotters who can't tell the difference between an AK-47 and a fukking camera, the entire U.S. military chain of command on up to Barry O'Bushma, their handlers in the military-industrial complex, and the international financier cartel that runs them all, is to answer for it.

Act now to help bring the truth of war to light.

On April 5, 2010, WikiLeaks released a classified U.S. military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad on July 12, 2007 -- including two Reuters news staff.
The video, which became news worldwide, is the product of countless volunteer hours, help from military sources, and monetary donations.
As part of a process of its meticulous reporting, Wikileaks sent reporters to the Baghdad neighborhood where the attack took place, tracking down two children who were injured in the gunfight which killed their father. The investigation and production of the video cost WikiLeaks almost $50,000.

There is more.
Concerned individuals have also given WikiLeaks an encrypted military video from a May 2009 attack in western Afghanistan which killed over 100 civilians, including many women and children, through bombing.
The U.S. Military has said it would release the video, but it has not.

But you can help release that video to the public.
WikiLeaks, which has successfully decrypted the footage, is currently devoting intensive resources to provide context to the footage, including tracking down witnesses and military experts.
But this is expensive.

WikiLeaks needs your help to fund that work and the press conference to release the footage to the world.
WikiLeaks did not Web-cast the Baghdad attack video press conference because it could not afford the $5,000 price tag at the National Press Club.

Help fund the press conference and next time, let the world watch as the video is released for the first time.

Take action.
Every dollar helps defray the cost.
Donate now and support the military whistleblowers who were brave enough to take action against what they knew was wrong.

Remember: Courage is contagious.

http://spot.us/pitches/396

So Unless Wikileaks Get Your Kerching,
They Wont Release The Video...

This All Sounds Very Familiar...!!!

In Context Here Is The News Report From That Day...

U.S. troops raid Shiite area of Baghdad, capturing two militants
Published: Thursday, July 12, 2007

BAGHDAD — U.S. troops raided a Shiite area of Baghdad on Thursday, capturing two militants accused of having links to Iran and sparking a battle that Iraqi officials said killed 19 people.
Two employees of the Reuters news agency, an Iraqi photographer and his driver, were among those killed.

In the district, Amin, angry residents - many of them Shiites who fled to Baghdad from Baquba, where U.S. troops are waging an offensive against insurgents - asserted that U.S. helicopters had attacked buildings during the fight with gunmen, killing civilians.
The U.S. military did not immediately comment on the fighting.

In addition to the Reuters photographer and the driver, at least one woman and two children were killed, police and hospital officials said.
The police added that some of the slain men appeared to have been armed and firing on the Americans.

The violence in the Amin district began with a predawn raid by U.S. forces that the military said captured two militants involved in kidnappings and planting roadside bombs against U.S. and Iraqi troops.
Militants fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the troops, hitting a nearby building, the military said.

The militants were believed to belong to Iranian-backed groups linked to the Mahdi army, the militia loyal to Moktada al-Sadr, the Shiite cleric who opposes the American presence in Iraq.
The United States has accused Iran's Revolutionary Guards of organizing and arming a network of the groups to carry out kidnappings and attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces.

After the initial raid, U.S. troops surrounded the neighborhood for several hours, announcing with loudspeakers that they were seeking militants and that the residents should stay inside, said an Iraqi police official who was at the scene.

As the Americans withdrew around 11 a.m., they came under fire, prompting the troops to move back into the district and to assault several buildings, the official said.
A U.S. attack helicopter struck targets on the ground, he said.

The result was a battle with militants that included mortars and rockets, the official said.
Several explosions hit residential buildings, killing eight people, including the woman and two children, said the official and another police officer involved in counting the casualties.
They could not say whether the blasts came from the helicopter or from militants.

Eleven others - mostly men, including some suspected gunmen - were killed on the street near buildings, shops and a Shiite religious building, the officials said.
AP Television News footage showed buildings riddled with holes from heavy machine gun and rocket fire, and a minibus with its front seat blasted away.

Officials from the three hospitals where the victims were taken put the toll at 19 dead and 20 wounded. Reuters identified the dead Iraqi photographer as Namir Noor-Eldeen, 22, and the driver as Saeed Chmagh, 40. "The cause of their deaths was unclear, although witnesses spoke of an explosion in the area," Reuters said. "Iraqi police said either a U.S. air strike or a mortar attack had occurred."

Residents blamed the Americans for the destruction.

"We are refugees," said one woman, who like others had come to the neighborhood from Baquba.
"We were displaced from our homes by militant attacks and now we have to deal with attacks from Americans.

"They hit the building and destroyed it completely.
My mother is dead, my sister is dead. I don't know where my father is."

U.S. forces have been waging an intensified security crackdown against Shiite and Sunni militants in and around Baghdad for nearly a month, as the Iraqi government struggles to make political progress.
Disputes among Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish leaders have severely weakened Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki even as the United States presses him to institute reforms.

One of Iraq's most powerful Shiite political leaders, Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, underlined his support of Maliki on Thursday, saying that his party, the biggest in Parliament, was working with Maliki on a government change that would strengthen the prime minister.

U.S. strikes in Shiite districts are highly sensitive for Maliki, whose bedrock support is from the majority Shiite community.
Shiites have complained of casualties in U.S. raids launched in retaliation for the frequent mortar attacks on Baghdad's government district, the Green Zone, often blamed on the Mahdi army.
The U.S. military says it tries to avoid civilian casualties but that militants hide in populated areas.

In other violence, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a wedding party in Tal Afar, a city in the northwest.

A police officer in Tal Afar said five people were killed and five were wounded, although the bride and groom escaped injury.

In southern Iraq, clashes erupted between Shiite militants and the Iraqi Army, killing a soldier and a civilian in the city of Diwaniya, the police said.
The U.S. military said Thursday that American-Iraqi sweeps in the city over the previous two days had killed eight suspected insurgents.

And Also Going On At The Same Time In Bagdad...

Baghdad car bomb kills 25, wounds 115
Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:41pm BST

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A parked car bomb killed 25 people and wounded 115 when it exploded near an intersection in central Baghdad on Thursday and police said the toll was likely to rise as many bodies were still buried under rubble.

Bodies lay strewn around the street after the blast, which smashed three buildings into piles of masonry and concrete.
It was at least the fourth to hit the predominantly Shi'ite district of Karrada this week.

U.S. and Iraqi forces have stepped up security operations in Baghdad since mid-February in an attempt to stem bombings, many of them blamed on Sunni Islamist al Qaeda, as well as sectarian killings between majority Shi'ites and minority Sunni Arabs.

But large-scale bombings continue to plague the capital.

Residents bundled victims into the boots of cars and the back of pick-up trucks and vans to rush them to hospital as police tried to evacuate stunned residents.

At least one building and several cars were ablaze.
Short bursts of gunfire could be heard soon after the explosion.

Karrada, normally one of Baghdad's most stable areas, was hit by three separate blasts on Monday which killed 13 people.

Earlier on Thursday, a parked car bomb killed seven people and wounded 45 near a popular kebab restaurant and shops in the city of Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad.

But Just Part Of A Bigger Picture Of The Urban Warfare Going On In That Region...!!!
