Conspiracy (2001 Film)
Conspiracy 2001 Film...!!!
A secret meeting is held in order to determine the method by which the Nazi government is to implement Adolf Hitler's policy — that the German sphere of influence should be free of Jews, including those in the occupied terrorities of Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Czechoslovakia and France.
As the film opens, various officials from different German agencies arrive and mingle at a lakeside villa in Wannsee, where SS-Obersturmbannführer (Lieutenant Colonel) Adolf Eichmann, SS Officer for Jewish Affairs, has meticulously planned the meeting.
I'm Not A Huge Fan Of Kenneth Brannagh,
But He Steals This Film.
With His Mandelsson-esque Performance Of Heydritch...
Both Menacing And Charming At The Same Time...
The Thing They Didn't Do Was Put On Dodgy German Accents...
And Somehow The Almost Plummy Upper Class Toff Accents,
Gives It A Calm Rationalisation...
(I Think Hollywood May Have Picked Up On This,
As Their Latest Craze For Villany Has Been English Actors)
Rather Than Using That Horrible German Barking Tome That They Call Speech...!!!
It Also Has A Very Understated Performance From Colin Firth,
The Chap Out Of Cutting It,
And Frank Gallagher Out Of Shameless,
As You Have Never Seen Him Before...
The Concept It Portrays Was That The Wanasee Conference,
Was Not A Discussion About The Fate Of European Jewry...
But It Was The SS Laying Down The Law...!!!
It Is One Of Those Films That Would Make A Great Play...
And Relies On Acting Talent, Charictorisations And Great Writing..
Not Special Effects, Pyrotechnecs, Love Interests And Formulated Action Sequences...!!!
A Good Film To Watch On A Lazy Sunday Afternoon...!!!
