“Be a sword,” she said.
After all, the drome was making her dream,

She was real.
Part of her wasn’t asleep.

This book was such a fun read!
It is relatively short and technically a
kid’s book,
but I read so quickly because it was hilarious
and I couldn’t put it down.
The main character,
Tiffany Aching is a
9-year-old girl on a sheep farm
who keeps herself busy with making
butter and cheese,
but who wants to grow up to be a witch.
When her little brother is stolen by the Faerie Queen,
she has to travel to fairyland and bring him home
before it’s too late.
With the help of the Feegles,
little blue-skinned men with red hair
and a penchant for
drinking, cursing and stealing,
a speaking frog, and her trusty frying pan,
Tiffany learns more about herself,
and what it means to be a witch.

Re: Lily Ponds and Marshland
Oh, and here I Feel
I must state;
not deluded, I know that
I'm not special,
but simply, blessed, to be grateful
of The Glorious view, standing,
on the shoulders of the giants
who came before me...
...so let us not speak falsely now,
swearing is not a dirty word,
but making promises that you can't
or worse, you don't intend to keep...
will be heard and will be seen
from...
All, Along The Watchtower...
echo lines in the
Book of Isaiah, Chapter 21, verses 5-9:
Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink:
arise ye
princes, and prepare the shield.
For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go
set a watchman,
let him declare what he seeth.
And he saw a chariot
with a couple of horsemen,
a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels;
and he hearkened diligently with much heed.
...And, behold, here cometh a
chariot of men,
with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said,
Babylon is fallen, is fallen,
and all the graven images of her gods
he
hath broken unto the ground
...and so...
For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despite their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free
Cultivate their flowers to be
Nothing more than something
They invest in.
While some on principles baptized
To strict party platforms ties
Social clubs in drag disguise
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God Bless him.
While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he's in.
But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.
...and...
It's Alright, Ma
I'm Only Bleeding...
... with all these Lyrics

Re: Lily Ponds and Marshland
...when I was young, knowing
I didn't know all I needed to know,
hitchhiking back into Sydney,
I got out of the truck, walk across
to the pub, and put this song straight
on the Juke Box...had a beer, then
out of there, on to an old haunt, The Rex...
...phoned a friend (brother of an Ex.),
and he hurried down to meet me...
then we talked and drank a little more,
played some pool...and then back to the old
house we once all shared...where,
I was introduced,
to the father of my children...

...funny, the dirt we dig to expose,
to muddy the clear, clean light of a new day,
where people shout and cheer, hur-ray!
we've found us, a new guru, to follow!
...but, sweetly speak and kindly ask
good folk, to privately, constantly, search,
their own hearts with their own minds...
to seek, inquire and test the findings,
of this and that and those
who came and come before us
for the understanding
of simply saving Word's of God...
...and, as He warned with love to prepare us,
we find ourselves...
...bitterly hated...
...but, hold fast...this to, shall pass...
and Real Living Life,
lasts and lasts and lasts...
Forever, More...
oh no, Not another dirty love song
but an answered prayer
for those with ears to hear Him,
The only One Who can and does
keep us
and All His promises...
...so, sow your faith, in your right,
the right, time and place and
Being, be, oh be ready for your harvest...

rain, let Him reign...

... ...now let's try again...
...nopey dopeys...simpletons won't let me post,
honest, beautiful truth...oh well, looks like emails must go out....
...and to cap it off, they keep cutting, the science and history
that's both enlightening, and beautiful...
...can't
be bought,
can't be made,
can't be stolen from the heart
that
God's spirit blessed,
yet,
though rarer than rubies,
freely found among the marshes
and
the lilly ponds...
Take your delight
when and where
it can be found
look with your heart,
it is all around...
overlook the rough,
grey, wild and old
see deeper within,
for treasures, behold!
Wolf! they cry wolf!
then more hate born of fear
unjustly spewed at,
children, wise men hold dear,
but fools with cruelty, taint
Faithful, willing servants,
by nature, kindly and gentle
patiently enduring,
yet, bold if just needs call
with true hearts, don't faint

Re: Lily Ponds and Marshland
talk about a wag wag the dog...
...and the silly git's still trying to do it...
bad enough with an average dog,
but a Deerhound is tall
and it's tail all but touches the ground...
so when they wag...you got no hope..
and when they hunt...
then throw a Rhodie and Border in...
with an Appy for a mount...
well Chief Joseph got his people out safe,
thanks to those loyal, enduring steeds...
...tintin, remember in my hall, when you
hissed a bellow in that threat,
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM!"?
...well I didn't need to...
I know who I am...
...a little nobody to the worldly,
with a life long love of The Creator God.
You know, the One you hate, because He tells us
what we do need to know, when we need to know it,
instead of when we stomp our filthy feet
demanding more than we can handle,
and so bring about our ruin.
...round and round the garden,
like a teddybear...or did you simply, madly
go 'round the twist in this sweet tale...
...see I have pulled my head in, I thought
I'll be nice, and share sweet songs and images
to feed hungry souls for free...
as mine was hungry the month away from Poppy
(no not heroin, that's never 'chic' and always bleak), but
that dear, dear Deerhound, that's a pleasure and a joy,
and so sweetly easy to live with...like the Rhodies, Borders
and Appaloosas, the kind kind, that make the sad smile,
and the depressed what to live...see,
my breeding was a social service, that healed instead of drugged...
...and doesn't that just sting, your bottom lines...
those you read between when there's nothing there,
to twist, meddle and peddle, your dark despair...
...sing a song of teddy bears, a pocket full of rye...
...4 and 20 black birds...in a pi...
the sheep are in the meadow, the cows are in the corn,
and Teddy's at the window sill...goes the war song
they taught to children...I sang it in the choir...
but I thanked God then, as I do now, for the heart it gave me.
...sing a song of Poppy dog, and no way will you cry,
now Poppy lays in her bed, and I'm about to go to mine,
and have sweet dreams of those I love...

LOVE and HARD TIMES
https://youtu.be/bVePccVoMCw
God and His only Son
Paid a courtesy call on Earth
One Sunday morning
Orange blossoms opened their fragrant lips
Songbirds sang from the tips of Cottonwoods
Old folks wept for His love in these hard times
“Well, we got to get going,” said the restless Lord to the Son
“There are galaxies yet to be born
Creation is never done
Anyway, these people are slobs here
If we stay it’s bound to be a mob scene
But, disappear, and it’s love and hard times”
I loved her the first time I saw her
I know that’s an old songwriting cliché
Loved you the first time I saw you
Can’t describe it any other way
Any other way
The light of her beauty was warm as a summer day
Clouds of antelope rolled by
No hint of rain to come
In the prairie sky
Just love, love, love, love, love
When the rains came, the tears burned, windows rattled, locks turned
It’s easy to be generous when you’re on a roll
It’s hard to be grateful when you’re out of control
And love is gone
The light at the edge of the curtain
Is the quiet dawn
The bedroom breathes
In clicks and clacks
Uneasy heartbeat, can’t relax
But then your hand takes mine
Thank God, I found you in time
Thank God, I found you
Thank God, I found you

There is a spirit over this place, that you can't,
make, buy or steal. It's the same spirit that has
fed and kept me all my life. And in being grateful
for it, and giving credit to it's source, it kept flowing
into the animals I bred, to send out, to likewise,
Bring Joy, to others.

Re: Lily Ponds and Marshland
Think Big came to my mind this morning.
Still Looking for Think Big to share, but
found this delight in looking...
The $600 mare
and her $100,000 foal
November 14, 2008
Dam fine … owner Rebecca Bates leads Decency and foal Tyra,
believed to be worth about $100,000 each
thanks to their impressive pedigree.
A horse once destined for the slaughterhouse is repaying the faith
of its canny owners, writes Phil Wilkins.
Viewed's win in the Melbourne Cup had its annual reverberations
across the thoroughbred industry, not least for a mare named
Decency, now found at Woodwinds Farm in the mountains behind the
Gold Coast, having been rescued two days before she was to be
slaughtered in a dogger's yard in Brisbane.
Early last year, the powerful brown mare - who has a terrible
scar extending from mid-belly to her flank after she was impaled on
a stake while squeezing through a gate with other horses - was
discovered in abattoirs by an astute young woman named Rebecca
Bates, who was searching for a riding horse for a friend.
There was something about the doleful animal standing at death's
door that attracted Rebecca's attention, something that caught her
horse lover's eye.
She returned home and told husband Shannon: "I can't get this
mare out of my head. She's so lovely, so quiet, so nice to ride. We
have to save her. I've got a feeling there's something good about
her pedigree."
They purchased her. Normally, a sale of her dubious
circumstances would cost $400, but she was such a big mare, she
cost $600. For want of a better name, they called the unknown,
unnamed acquisition Mary, as in mare, mare Mary. They took her back
to Woodwinds Farm, a fertile, 40-hectare stud - formerly a dairy
farm until deregulation of the industry and drought forced the
family to close down the bails - in the picturesque Numinbah Valley
on the northern side of the range wrapping around Mt Warning.
Pursuing Rebecca's hunch, they began research. The mare's brands
made her traceable through the Australian stud book, and to their
delight they discovered she was New Zealand born and bred from a
reputable stud farm, that she came to Australia as a yearling and
was, in fact, the daughter of the well-credentialled stallion
Defensive Play from an obscure mare named Lovers Knot. The word was
around about her abattoir fate. "Mary" was listed as dead.
Further research authenticated Mary as the thoroughbred mare
Decency, leaving unanswered the reason for her sad decline to the
point she had been about to be put down for dogs' meat. The
suspicion was she had a history of slipping foals, further
complicated by her terrible belly wound. The Bates basically
discounted her for breeding purposes and regarded her as a sale
proposition to a nearby riding school.
The day before Decency was to be inspected for purchase by the
trail farm operators in July last year, a quail burst out of the
grass, startling her and sending her tumbling down a bank, leaving
the mare with a fractured wither.
"She was so sore it put paid to her becoming a riding horse,"
Rebecca said. "We nursed her through the injury, and I looked at
her and said, 'You don't want to leave us, do you? You just want to
stay here. But that's all right. You're a lovely, big girl."'
In August last year, equine influenza struck, slamming shut all
property gates, preventing movement of horses in Queensland and
NSW, with Numinbah Valley classified as a buffer zone, further
delaying the normalisation of horse transport.
The family's ambitions of utilising the new stud's two stallions
for servicing mares flew out the window.
In desperation, they covered Decency with Tanabota, their
Redoute's Choice-sired stallion.
Shortly after servicing, Rebecca took the mare for a short ride
and came back, declaring to her mother-in-law Erica: "I've had a
talk to Mary. She's going into foal. We'll be all right."
By October of last year, Decency was confirmed in foal. The
following month, Efficient won the Melbourne Cup. Efficient was
foaled by a mare of Defensive Play, the stallion that sired
Decency. Now Decency has her own strapping brown filly foal,
nicknamed Tyra, bouncing at her side.
"Decency could not be a better name for her," Rebecca said. "She
has a wonderful temperament. She's a wonderful dam, everything
about her. She's a totally decent mare."
Browsing through the weights for this year's Melbourne Cup,
Shannon Bates spied the nomination of the five-year-old stallion
Viewed, trained by Bart Cummings. Glancing at his breeding, he saw
something that made his head spin. Viewed was out of Lovers Knot,
the same mare that threw Decency.
So, if cheering was prolonged as Viewed and Bauer duelled along
the Flemington straight, and joyous for Lovers Knot's canny
owner-breeder Ian Johnson from Finch's Crossing Stud on the
Hawkesbury River when Viewed muzzled his way to the Cup, it was
even more thunderous in the community hall at Numinbah Valley as
locals celebrated their "connection" with Viewed in the Cup sweep.
"Having Defensive Play as her sire was our first payback for saving
Decency, and then learning she was from the same dam as Viewed was
our second payback," Erica said, still glowing in the reflected
glory of the Cup, and brandishing a $5 each-way betting ticket that
returned her $239.
So, the $600 rescue fee has been more than justified. How much
more? One bloodstock agent suggested the broodmare value of
Decency, now 11 years old, at about $100,000. Her foal, he thought,
depending on her soundness, was also in the vicinity of $100,000.
Such is life in the horse breeding game.

...this post came to me, with the thought that 'fell in my head' when I woke this morning: 'there's nothing bigger than God, folk have to think big to know Him'...big and wide and high and deep. But no, most don't, most still try to fit God into limited, imperfect, disjointed, disconnected, mortal (dead) human concepts; 'editing Him out' of the Loving trials that test, prove and lead us to God's Saving Truth. I was 13 years old when Think Big won his first Melbourne Cup, and had my first 'rescued' horse, 'STARDUST', who I swam with, traveled all over this glorious land with, lost in Queensland, and found again years later, brought back home to Victoria, taught my 3 children to ride on, caused me to send another 'rescued' horse to Sweden, where like DECENCY, his pedigree was discovered and he became, HI RAIL ZODA, a much loved and respected stud all around the world...and STARDUST, lived out his long and Blessing Life, down home on the farm with his girls, going to 'sleep', at the amazing age of 32. 'Rescued', ha it's ourselves we rescue, when we, 'do the right thing, for the right reason', especially when 'everyone else' sees no 'reason' in it, because they simply refuse to THINK BIG enough to understand God.
Still Looking for Think Big to share, but

Well I loved the Lone Ranger an' ah loved that Dennis Law
Him an' George Best, sure knew how tae kick a ba'
I wanted tae be a cowboy, an' learn tae crack a whip
Tae stand up in that lonely street, two six guns on ma hip
Along the mighty Beatles came, an' everyone went ahhh
They could play and sing and everything, and of course that John could draw
Well that wis it fur me, ah never once looked back
Ah'd tricks tae learn, waves tae catch, had a plan of attack
"Are you lookin' at me?"
I said "Are you lookin' at me, pal?"
Then we headed south, where the surf came crashin' in
From black an white tae colour, from innocence tae sin
It was summer in December, blowing heatwaves in ma mind
People talkin' funny, some cruel an' some were kind
From the crackle of the cane, to the frown of a big black snake
From the breakers at Bondi, down to Wallaga Lake
From the sound of a million fly screen doors, closing on the past
Like that chimney the fires couldn't burn, I was built to last
"Are you lookin' at me?"
I said "Are you lookin' at me, pal?"
When I flew across the ocean, ah wis number 1
People gave me everything, an' ah didn't need a gun
Walkin' down that avenue, I never felt so alive
People callin' out ma' name, an' ah'd only just arrived
There wis a tight rope walkin' bagpiper, in the middle of Central Park
Steam wis risin' from the ground, an' ah wore my cape out after dark
I had myself a moment, my day out in the sun
It's an unfinished story, but it's more than just begun
An' ah know more than one thing, but not more than two or three

Re: Lily Ponds and Marshland
A drop bear (or dropbear) is a fictitious Australian marsupial.[1]
Drop bears are commonly said to be unusually large, vicious,
carnivorous koalas that inhabit treetops and attack their prey
by dropping onto their heads from above.[2]
They are an example of local lore intended to frighten and confuse
outsiders and amuse locals, similar to the jackalope, hoop snake, wild haggis, or snipe hunt.
It is often suggested that doing ridiculous things like having forks
in the hair or Vegemite or toothpaste spread behind the ears will
deter the creatures.[3]
In popular culture
Drop bears appear in the novel The Last Continent
by Terry Pratchett. In the novel, the wizard Rincewind
travels through the Australia-like continent of Fourecks,
and is attacked by most of the creatures while travelling
through the
desert. Rincewind is wearing the traditional
pointed wizard's hat, which
serves to protect Rincewind's head
from the stunning blow of the bear,
and stun the bear itself.
When the first bear's attack is unsuccessful,
a
massive cadre of dropbears begins to fall from the trees
out of sheer
astonishment. When hearing about this later,
the locals insist that drop
bears do not really exist..........anymore.....?..... .....

Sense of panic in Labor's slide
Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard in Canberra.
Picture: Gary Ramage
The Daily Telegraph
KEVIN Rudd this week turned from an irritant
into a deadly threat to Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
Rumours of two screaming matches this week between Gillard
and her foreign minister have been denied by Rudd.
But what couldn't be denied were photographs of the two
walking in Parliament House together this week after a rare meeting
in apparent anger and mutual loathing.
A festering sore has been opened since a front-page story
in the Canberra Times this week alleged Rudd was plotting a takeover.
In a way, that's hardly news.
Rudd clearly dreams of snatching back his job
from the woman who took it from him a year ago.
He does not rate Gillard on brains or learning. He will also have seen
what a dog's breakfast she has made of the job since she took over,
driving down Labor's support in Newspoll from 52 per cent of
the two-party preferred vote to a humiliating 45 per cent.
He'll also have noted a sense of panic now within Labor.
Only this panic can explain the preposterous announcement byClimate Change Minister Greg Combet that the Government would
spend $12 million of taxpayers' money to sell its carbon dioxide tax,
even though there is no tax in place to sell.
That is not just unprincipled and against Government guidelines.
It is also almost suicidal, drawing a furious rebuke from the two
independents propping up the Government, Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor.
No wonder former Labor powerbroker Graham Richardson this week admitted
voters had stopped listening to Gillard and
"I doubt that Labor can win the next election now".
But Labor's tragedy is that it has no obvious alternative to Gillard,
which leaves Rudd, now rated in polls as the people's choice
to run the party that doesn't want him.
Rudd has frantically wooed that vote, but the other half of his effort
has been to not lift a finger to save Gillard.
He has done virtually nothing as foreign minister to rescue her
from her two worst foreign policy crises --
the ban on the live cattle trade with Indonesia
and the failure to clinch the deal with Malaysia
to swap our boat people for refugees.
Where is Kevin? Why has he not flown to Malaysia? Rushed to Indonesia?
That's what makes this week's tense meetings with Gillard intriguing.
According to Rudd, the subject was Indonesia, and the cattle exports --
which should have been his focus for two weeks.
It's true, the loathing for Rudd is too strong for Labor MPs
to go back yet to the man who nearly ruined them last time.
Labor number crunchers told the Sydney Morning Herald on Friday
that Rudd could rely on just 11 of the 115 votes in caucus.
But the point is, they're now counting. And Gillard is on death watch.

WIKILEAKS' founder Sod...!!! Assange is leading an online poll to be
named Time magazine's "Person of the Year" - while an online bookmaker
painted him as the equivalent of Saddam Hussein in betting terms.
In a poll on Time's website, Assange had 298,975 votes -
76,207 ahead of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and more
than 160,000 ahead of pop singer Lady Gaga, in second and third places.Other
big names in the poll include IT figures Steve Jobs and Mark
Zuckerberg, who were trailing at 22,164 and 15,933 votes respectively.Being
named "Person of the Year" doesn't necessarily make you a public hero -
Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin have also been previous winners of the
title. But online bookmaker YouWager.com is betting on Time playing it safe this year - saying the odds of Assange appearing on the prestigious cover are only 20 per cent.

A feud ( /ˈfjuːd/), referred to in more extreme cases as
a blood feud, vendetta, faida, or private war,
is a long-running argument or fight between parties—
often, through association fallacy, groups of people,
especially families or clans.
Feuds begin because one party
(correctly or incorrectly) perceives itself
to have been attacked, insulted or wronged by another.
Intense feelings of resentment trigger the initial retribution,
which causes the other party to feel equally aggrieved and vengeful.
The dispute is subsequently fuelled by a long-running cycle
of retaliatory violence.
This continual cycle of provocation and retaliation makes it
extremely difficult to end the feud peacefully.
Feuds frequently involve the original parties'
family members and/or associates, can last for generations
and may result in extreme acts of violence.
They could be viewed as
a pathological form of family honor.

"With all the fervor against him in the United States right now,
he's the equivalent of Saddam Hussein," Cory Scott, operations manager
for the website, told the Toronto Sun, referring to the former Iraqi dictator who was executed in 2006."It seems to us a magazine like Time isn't radical enough to choose him."Assange,
39, was refused bail and remanded in custody until next Monday during
an extradition hearing at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in
London. The decision followed his arrest by appointment at a
London police station on four charges, including one count of unlawful
coercion and one count of rape related to alleged incidents in Sweden in
August.Following his arrest, Time magazine was forced to deny rumors the Australian had been removed from candidates in its online poll."Not
only has Sod...!!! Assange NOT been banished from the TIME Person of the
Year Poll, you can vote for him right here," the magazine tweeted,
providing a link to its website. The Time "Person of the
Year" will be named by editors of the magazine next Wednesday and issue
will hit newsstands the last week of December.

Be Good or Be Gone

If you happen to read this,
Rose was born.
Child actor-ess,
On the fifth day of the snow.
Be good or be gone,
Be good or be, be gone.
The range is stangering,
Movement and timing.
Frame by frame,
It did unfold.
Be good or be gone,
Be good or be, be gone.
I read to you on saturdays,
Museum has closed down.
Sell all your things,
At the end of the drive.
Be good or be gone,
Be good or be, be gone.
I have become,
An ariel view.
Of a coastal town,
That you once knew.
Be good or be gone,
Be good or be, be gone
"THE END of HISTORY"
PUT A PENNY IN THE SLOT
https://youtu.be/THTmZyWQNFY
I apologise,
seem to have arrived,
On what items in my bag from your house.
There's cutlery,
a tablecloth, some Hennessy,
And a book on Presidents deceased.
I'll have them fed-exed to you,
It was a strange thing to do,
I hope we can still be friends.
Ah, it was not me,
but someone else, you see,
Twisting the steering reins.
Put a penny in the slot and make an
artificial li-ii-iight shine,
Leave go-ooo. Mark old and line.
I don't give advise,
But be wise and think twice,
Before getting involved in a game.
Where the minority
Face the majority,
Who are faceless and born without names.
Was it knock synch when
we came across three men,
They had church candles wrapped in newspaper.
I bought two from them,
And I'll lit one for you,
I hope the message made it's way down the wire.
Put a penny in the slot and make an
artificial li-ii-iight shine,
Leave go-ooo. Mark old and line.
The soul of a dog,
he's alive and not gone
To the farm like the others said.
A Rhodesian richback,
Off the beaten track,
In a furniture shop down on the quays.
For the lonliness you foster,
I suggest Paul Oster,
A book called Timbuktu.
Put a penny in the slot and watch the
Drunken sailor boy dance.
She will not let you be
Her lov-ver.
She goes out looking for
The taxi.
Her phone is ringing straight to
Message-minder.
Send out a battalion to
Find her.
Put a penny in the slot and count the
Swans through a te-elescope.
I can't help from cryin'
I wish you were mine.
When I was seventeen,
I followed my dream,
Up into a high-rise block.
The adventures of Augie March,
By Saul Bel-low,
Was all I had for company.
At night time I'd lie
In Beckingham pike,
With tears like flashbulbs.
And recall my treasure-
Searching days,
In the rock pools as a kid.
To the remains of
The cherub plains,
Or around the bonfire in Nailors’ cove.
Good company and grief
Sit like a dark leaf,
Sits beside a singing nett-le.
Put a penny in the slot and make an
artificial li-ii-iight shi-iine,
Leave go-ooo. My golden arm

SNOWY ATLAS MOUNTAINS
https://youtu.be/7Xp2Q36oN6w
We came down by the factory
Industrial yarns where my father did work
When I was a boy I went to far
I lost the tread in the darkest of space
If I become antique you'll collect me
If I become cheap then you will respect me
My jumper is soaked in pig's blood
I'm coming out looking for you
If you pull a hatchet I'll pull something to match it
How about your wife, I'll give her a good life
My vehicle is in your drive
Hey I'm not that low
The wolves came on the radio
Transmitted through a portal in the snowy Atlas Mountains
